This game is exactly what makes me angry about the braves offense. Two times the Braves have a runner on third with NO OUTS and we score zero runs. Then other team gets a couple hard hit balls and bam tie game late.

I imagine Heyward’s struggles are a topic of conversation. Wondering what Walker and Fletcher’s thoughts are on the matter, seeing as reports were so positive coming into camp.

We don’t need Mel Gibson, just Fredi to give a closed doors speech that goes something like this

“Mankind.” That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night!” We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

DAP…I don’t believe major league players pretend these games don’t count for anything considering the circumstances of what plagued this team all of last season. We have an entire squad looking to improve this spring. This is no ordinary situation where you blindly play it out and laugh it off. Hitting is a legitimate concern on this club, as it was all of last year.

There’s pressure on these guys, you don’t participate in epic flops without eyes all over you. We’re all just hopeful when they do count, the boys come to play.

One of the major problems is that the boys HAVE come to play.

A large number of them, however, apparently can’t hit. If they can hit, most sure as hell can’t hit situationally.

The hall of famer out in right field is one of them. I’ve been screaming it from the mountain tops now for ages. I hate it, but nothing changes with him. He’s ruined.

I could care less so much about individual performances except that they all contribute to how the team performs. No heroes this spring, no timely hitting, or playing little ball and manufacturing runs, no real power outputs. Take away Prado and Minor’s performances and so far this has to go down as the most uninspiring ST ever. There is a culture of losing that has developed and everyone seems to adhere to it, like an unwritten code.
