worried about Pastornicky’s D. Yankee announcers yesterday made a comment, WTTE of “that’s how shortstops become second basemen”. Apparently that’s an issue with TP.

As bad as our offense have been this ST we are not the worst team in BA AVG. That dubious honor belongs to the Rays with 197. However, after this game we are ready to wrestle that from them.

kwajbraves, they’ve had no problem getting guys on base today. Just getting them in.
We never have trouble in getting on base but getting them in has been a consistent problem for the last 2 years.

Command will come as will stamina. That is what spring is for.
It still would be nice to get some hits. I think my blood pressure goes up everytime I see a Brave take strike 3 with RISP and especially with 2 outs. Seems like we guess way too much on those pitches and stand frozen when we guess wrong

Cory is an even better person than he is a pitcher. You root for a kid who comes from your hometown. You root for him even more when he comes back and helps his high school baseball team with a fundraiser, and tells the crowd he thinks about his community no matter what city he’s in. You don’t always get that from pro athletes.

Pastornicky may become a good utility player but he is not and will never be a starting SS. Feel sorry for the kid because obviously he is over his head. I don’t understand this move by the Braves.

SS Andrelton Simmons just made a helluva play to throw out a runner at 3B. Simmons dove for ball, then threw out runner while falling.

There is not comparison, Simmons defense is MLB ready, Pastornicky is a utility player at best. That is the scout’s consensus.

Well guys, you worry if it’s a lineup full of our regulars and they are getting many AB’s. If that’s the case and they’re still struggling you then worry. Not when it’s mostly scrubs and minor leaguers. Our regulars are even getting many AB’s yet. At least I wouldn’t assume so this early.
Then again, other offenses seem to be doing ok. Maybe their scrubs are better than ours?

Glad Greg Walker is having a positive effect on the Braves offense. Why go out and actually spend money on a bat or two to help the team when you can spend chump change on a hitting coach and blow smoke that he will cure your offensive problems.
