I hope that our pitchers are up to the task to throw shout out every game to have a chance to win.
still waiting for the bats to arrive at spring practice….
they accidentally got shipped by way of Curacao
March 10th, 20123:15 pm
Infield single to Pastornicky. One hop throw to Freeman wasn’t in time.
March 10th, 20123:16 pm
Prado is a baseball player. Solid as they come.
Good play by Sutton at 2B for the third out
I may have to lower yesterday’s prediction from 41-121 to 40-122
March 10th, 20123:17 pm
Kwajbraves, so what, they’ve had to have “shutout” mentality the last few years anyways. What’s another year?
worried about Pastornicky’s D. Yankee announcers yesterday made a comment, WTTE of “that’s how shortstops become second basemen”. Apparently that’s an issue with TP.
March 10th, 20123:18 pm
As bad as our offense have been this ST we are not the worst team in BA AVG. That dubious honor belongs to the Rays with 197. However, after this game we are ready to wrestle that from them.
March 10th, 20123:19 pm
Back from talking to Jurrjens, said he just didn’t have command of anything except his slider today. Only good news: Knee was fine.
March 10th, 20123:21 pm
kwajbraves, they’ve had no problem getting guys on base today. Just getting them in.
What part of this lineup is young and inexperienced….?
All excuses aside, this offense has 4 hits and 1 run in 5 innings. I’m not seeing any improvement?
nolie, You too?
brian, post an invite on your league. Info not taking.

kwajbraves, they’ve had no problem getting guys on base today. Just getting them in.
We never have trouble in getting on base but getting them in has been a consistent problem for the last 2 years.
last sentence of DOB’s post was most important – knee was fine.
Command will come as will stamina. That is what spring is for.
It still would be nice to get some hits. I think my blood pressure goes up everytime I see a Brave take strike 3 with RISP and especially with 2 outs. Seems like we guess way too much on those pitches and stand frozen when we guess wrong
March 10th, 20123:24 pm
Braves go down in order
That “drinking the Kool-Aid” seems to get thrown around way too often on here from some folks. I am starting to wonder whether or not they really know what it means.
March 10th, 20123:27 pm
Cory is an even better person than he is a pitcher. You root for a kid who comes from your hometown. You root for him even more when he comes back and helps his high school baseball team with a fundraiser, and tells the crowd he thinks about his community no matter what city he’s in. You don’t always get that from pro athletes.
March 10th, 20123:28 pm
I may have to lower yesterday’s prediction from 41-121 to 40-122.
I don’t know about that but going 1-31 on ST is doable.
March 10th, 20123:30 pm
5-4-3 DP. Terdo in at 3B, Simmons at SB, Mejia at 1B.
March 10th, 20123:31 pm
SO for the third out.
March 10th, 20123:32 pm
Pastornicky is horrible, good grief. Can’t hit, can’t play defense. I would rather go without a shortstop than wish Alex Gonzalez back, but too bad Wilson’s injured.
Rob from SC
March 10th, 20123:34 pm
Freeman is struggling to make contact…We need him to be great
March 10th, 20123:35 pm
Hello everyone! Has the Sun come out?
March 10th, 20123:37 pm
Simmons might not be ready to hit at the ML level…but his glove is ready.
We are a DP hiting machine.
March 10th, 20123:38 pm
Braves get a runner on an error, wiped out in DP.
March 10th, 20123:39 pm
Trey- Do you want some of my Kool-Aid? It says Braves are goong to the Play-Offs,and it is good kool-aid with lots of sugar.
March 10th, 20123:40 pm
Spruill on the mound, Gattis behind the plate.
Braves will be fine and the bats will come to life soon. It’s going to happen.
Pastornicky may become a good utility player but he is not and will never be a starting SS. Feel sorry for the kid because obviously he is over his head. I don’t understand this move by the Braves.
March 10th, 20123:41 pm
Simmons took a base hit away. We have our starting SS. I shame that will not be this year.
March 10th, 20123:42 pm
This team is gonna make me go on the phil side of things. Look up the averages over these ST games. This team is full of guys who feel entitled when they haven’t accomplished s***. A team full of nice guys are who we are.
Ward, you always have a good sense of humor. I saw Ward’s Corner up here in Norfolk, and I says to myself, I wonder if that is where Ward earns his living. Then I says “I miss the real Ward”, “Oh wait, Ward doesn’t exist.” A little lame humor for you, Ward.
March 10th, 20123:43 pm
Seems to me people have thier minds made up before they give some one a chance. Got to let the Rev. play.
March 10th, 20123:44 pm
SS Andrelton Simmons just made a helluva play to throw out a runner at 3B. Simmons dove for ball, then threw out runner while falling.
OK, I’m convinced. Simmons should start at short.
Good stoy by Joey. Save a run Bases loaded.
March 10th, 20123:45 pm
Trey, good to have humor, and not take things seriously, and DOB has kept me in tune this year, and very thankful for that.
March 10th, 20123:47 pm
Bases loaded RBI single, bases still loaded.
There is not comparison, Simmons defense is MLB ready, Pastornicky is a utility player at best. That is the scout’s consensus.
March 10th, 20123:48 pm
Phillies Domonic Brown will go to have a MRI on right thumb. Has inflation, and will miss some more games.
March 10th, 20123:50 pm
Sac fly and then a bloop hit RBI.
Route is on now. 7-1. I would take the Braves 9 games to score 7 runs.
Line drive to Constanza for the third out. Braves down 7-1 now.
March 10th, 20123:51 pm
That inflation stuff hurts.
March 10th, 20123:52 pm
The Rev looks like another Frank Wren AAAA special.
Keep in mind the Braves have played mostly Detroit, and the Yankess,so far,and American League teams
March 10th, 20123:54 pm
Even with Simmons looking much better in ST right now, I wouldn’t want them to rush him to the majors. He still hasn’t played above high A ball.
March 10th, 20123:55 pm
I wonder if Chipper thinks they got their swag back?
We are garantee to get a win on April 3 because we are playing ourselves. On second thought that game may finish tie 0-0.
I don’t understand this move by the Braves
Same reason Boscan is starting at catcher…because it’s Spring Training
March 10th, 20123:56 pm
Rick-I agree with your 3:54pm post.
March 10th, 20123:57 pm
Good thing Braves aren’t in the American League because they aren’t even in the same league with the likes of the Yanks and Tigers.
March 10th, 20123:58 pm
How bout we just say the Braves have played other major league teams and have sucked so far.
Durango reaches (I think on a BB, not sure I missed it) followed by a Diaz single. Sutton BB to load them from Simmons.
March 10th, 20123:59 pm
they aren’t even in the same league with the likes of the Yanks and Tigers.
You’re right. They’re in the National League
When should we start worrying about the lack of hitting?
March 10th, 20124:00 pm
It’s Spring Training, and it’s not the Play-Offs now. Not even regular season.
Keep telling yourself it’s only ST for a team to have amassed this shortage of runs. Its completely mental now and won’t be changing until Fredi is gone.
“The Rev looks like another Frank Wren AAAA special”
yeah, once I read he was a pretty poor fielder and he’d be our starting SS I was all against the idea. Still am, big time.
March 10th, 20124:01 pm
way to go, you caught my pun.
Simmons with an RBI. 7-2
Ball deflects off the pitcher, 1B makes the play there. RBI for Simmons.
March 10th, 20124:02 pm
“Its completely mental now and won’t be changing until Fredi is gone.”
What’s his batting average this Spring? Oh wait…it’s the same as Chipper’s!
March 10th, 20124:03 pm
Terdo RBI single
Terdo with an RBI hit. 7-3
March 10th, 20124:05 pm
Well guys, you worry if it’s a lineup full of our regulars and they are getting many AB’s. If that’s the case and they’re still struggling you then worry. Not when it’s mostly scrubs and minor leaguers. Our regulars are even getting many AB’s yet. At least I wouldn’t assume so this early.
Then again, other offenses seem to be doing ok. Maybe their scrubs are better than ours?
Ok,Rick. You got the fastest keyboard. You got me.
March 10th, 20124:06 pm
I guess if the Braves were 8-1 instead of 1-8 all the whiners would be singing praises for Braves? Somehow,I doubt it.
Got my New Era Braves cap today. Dark blue with the white A in the middle. Wearing it right now to break it in.
March 10th, 20124:07 pm
2 runs that is our biggest inning sin 5 games.
March 10th, 20124:08 pm
Actually if the Braves go 62 – 100 this season the Braves apologists will be saying it was all bad luck.
March 10th, 20124:10 pm
Not a good outing for Spruill.
We have sone Denzes who think the Braves are going to finish 62-100. Please stay off the weed….It kills your Brain…….
March 10th, 20124:11 pm
Sweet Lord…can we at least admit that there’s a difference between going 89-83 and going 62-100?
meant to say some Denzes….
March 10th, 20124:12 pm
Glad Greg Walker is having a positive effect on the Braves offense. Why go out and actually spend money on a bat or two to help the team when you can spend chump change on a hitting coach and blow smoke that he will cure your offensive problems.
I repeat those who think the Braves are going to suck. Please stay off thr weed……
March 10th, 20124:13 pm
Stay on the weed all you want, just stay off the blog. No use moping and whining about a lost cause, right?
March 10th, 20124:14 pm
I hope the first three were better than the fourth.
March 10th, 20124:15 pm
jeffrey d-I think the weed affects their minds,so doubters don’t weed, and watch Braves Baseball. It is bad for you.
March 10th, 20124:16 pm
We have sone Denzes who think the Braves are going to finish 62-100.
You have no idea how close you are, Ward.
March 10th, 20124:17 pm
“Sweet Lord…can we at least admit that there’s a difference between going 89-83 and going 62-100?”
Yes jeffrey we can, but we also need to be realistic and not tell the world that the Braves are “good enough” as constructed to compete for the NL East crown.
Tom- Just some humor…..
March 10th, 20124:19 pm
I predice Braves will win 92 this year. Write it down……
March 10th, 20124:20 pm
I believe the Braves can,and will stay by my prediction.
Heck Jordan Parraz can hit…play him.
March 10th, 20124:22 pm
I predice that the fuel is going down to 2.50 a gallon. Write it down…
March 10th, 20124:23 pm
Parraz singles and moves to second on a Durango out. Diaz the Braves’ last hope.
Coach ( 2012 Fredi's beisbol fandango)
Spring training doesn’t count but this 1-8 start so far is getting worrisome.
March 10th, 20124:24 pm
Diaz singles. Parraz was getting waved home but stopped a few steps after third.
Yes they can. And if you think they can’t, what’s the point in watching this season? Because you’re happy complaining?
