Who cares if he love or doesn’t Atlanta. Just have Michael Bourn play the game that he get’s millions of dollars to play, if not get rid of the jerk. The Braves aren’t doing a good job at anything, they are doing, they can’t hit, don’t can’t score runs, since last year, etc. Fredi, at this pace, at sometime at mid-season will not be the manager of the Braves.
The Braves need to get rid of Chipper Jones , once and for all………
Well, I can’t speak for those people. I am not them. Not once have I said we will be one of the worst teams. I do firmly believe that we will be a lot like we were last year and will fall apart much the same way because the pitching staff will have a huge load to carry. Offensively, the only person that I really see coming back stronger will be Prado. He has that “eye of the tiger” mentality that I wish some of the others would show. I Heyward not doing much better. And whereas I’m enjoyed watching Chipper for a lot of years, he is past his contributing days. I hope I’m wrong because it sucks to watch a legend go out broken down. If I were the Braves, I might look more into Simmons breaking camp just so we’ll at least have a good defensive shortstop.
No, blog doof, they are relatively sporadic actually. The negative stuff isn’t constant either but is seen more than the former frankly.
So what, though. Isn’t there something else with which to be concerned? I don’t know. Basketball? The last time you went to chick fil a? The price of gasoline? What Rufino Linares is doing these days?

I know Simmons won’t beak camp with the team. I just stated that I would prefer him and his defense over Pastornicky’s suspect bat and shaky defense. As for McCann? I don’t see him any better than last year. He has hit .200 and .221 respectively over the last 2 seasons in September. He still is almost Piazza-like with his throws to second, but I will admit that the pitchers have to hold the runners closer than they have. And as for Uggla, I can only hope he doesn’t disappear for a half season like he did last year. And even though he got hot as hades for a while, he still only hit .238 in September.

That has a lot to do with why I find today’s NBA almost unwatchable. I grew up watching those guys play beautiful basketball…was never about “ME” but always about the TEAM. And OMG watching Magic work that ball and feed Kareem, Worthy, Perkins, Scott, AC… (and with the incomparable Chick Hearn calling the plays)
I remember, I walked home from school and when I got there, the phone was ringing. A friend was calling asking if I had heard…I turned on the TV and sat, stunned, for a long time, listening to Magic make that announcement. What a shock.
I was actually a fan of both teams after the hawks….enjoyed watching them head to head and when playing others…fan isn’t the right word but something like that.
No team was ever better than the ‘86 Celtics. Could they pass the basketball.
For those that were not privileged to get to hear Chick Hearn, he was the Vin Scully of the NBA…just check out the terms that are still used today that he is credited with coining…among them: Triple-Double, Slam Dunk, Dribble Drive, Air Ball, and Charity Stripe…
I was a Lakers fan pretty much until Shaq came and ruined them for me (and other circumstances caused an allegiance switch)- now I just watch players, when I actually can stomach watching for more than 2 minutes…
62nd….think about that. Thank goodness he called games on NBC in the 80s or many of us would have no idea what we miss on a regular basis. A terrific announcer and apparently one you just can’t kill off!
Baseball season is not baseball season for me until I hear Vin’s wonderful greeting “Hello again everybody and welcome to another season of Dodger baseball” Even now…his voice is a part of my childhood. There is nobody better. He no longer does road games outside the division, and doesn’t seem to be at spring training this year…I will be crushed when he passes on.
I felt that way about ernie johnson. Skip’s sudden death has been the worst of all personally because it was basically unexpected. I liked pete least of all but hearing him again recently somewhere sure made me appreciate once again what we’ve lost in our booth. I miss all three and always will.
