ken – yup, I’m a Gwinnettian.
High fly to center – runner advances to 3rd, 2 down…
March 8th, 20123:02 pm
Soph: Can you pick up 1230 AM?
L. J. Hoes batting – 0-2 – ball one…
Grounded to third – sit down, Hoes!
March 8th, 20123:03 pm
Yeah let’s just say I’m not going to put much stock into anything you have to say Mixxo or your skewed bi-polar or just always negative views.
7 innings down, 1-1 score…
March 8th, 20123:04 pm
That was some interview…
What a jackass Bourne must be.
Get rid of his butt right now and bring back McOut. I would rather have someone who stinks but cares than some dope who won’t even say a thing about what he does for workouts in the offseason, while being clipped and curt with his other responses as well.
Add me to the can’t stand Bourne Brigade!!
March 8th, 20123:05 pm
What does it mean that Han Ram “wants” this?
That is even a stupider saying that “drinking the kool-aid”
Just plain ignorant.
And fire FG!!
March 8th, 20123:06 pm
Gattis with a hard hit up the middle off the new pitcher’s glove…
Socolovich the pitcher – Pastornicky bunts, and is safe at first…
March 8th, 20123:07 pm
ken – I think I probably do get it at home but I’m at work and don’t have an old school radio here. Wish they’d at least broadcast it on an FM station so I could catch it on my phone.
Cunningham running for Gattis, Durango batting – 1st and 2nd, none out, 1-0 count…
March 8th, 20123:08 pm
Good bunt by Durango – everyone safe!!!
Bases loaded for Brandon Hicks…
March 8th, 20123:09 pm
Strike one to Hicks…infield looking for a DP…
Soph: Thanks, I was just curious as someone said they could pick it up and I didn’t think that station carried that far, but maybe they have improved their signal. I agree, I will be glad when the FM station starts carrying the games.
March 8th, 20123:10 pm
Called strike – Mejia on deck…
O’s have the Braves right where they want’ em. Bases full of Braves, no one out.
March 8th, 20123:11 pm
March 8th, 2012
0-2 count – Jason called out on a check swing on a ball that bounced 2 feet in front of the plate…
LOL! What a shocker! The hall of famer in year three of his bumbling career.
Ernesto Mejia takes a strike…
Yeah Brandon Hicks is not a good hitter.
Swing and miss – taps it foul…
March 8th, 20123:12 pm
Mejia watches a ball that just missed – grounder to third – 5-4-3 DP…
March 8th, 20123:13 pm
Maybe we can bring back joe mather as hitting coach…
“Soph: don’t you live in Gwinnett?”
1/4 of the blog either currently lives in Gwinnett or has lived in Gwinnett
ab the rally killer!
March 8th, 20123:14 pm
Seems like the Braves teach how to load the bases and not score in the minor leagues.
wow with bases loaded and no one out and cant even get one run . none of the past three hitters will see a roster spot anytime soon
It’s gonna be a longer year than 1987…
Ouch…in the words of Charles Barkley…turrible…turrible. Well at least they’re consistent and getting it all out of the way in the spring.
I thought it was kinda funny. IDK
Deal with it.
March 8th, 20123:15 pm
It’s only ST.
None of these games matter.
Let’s keep telling ourselves that.
anyone want to bet the orioles score in this inning after a wasted opportunity
March 8th, 20123:16 pm
Breathe, lowercase phil. It’ll be okay.
I know for a Fact that tomorrows game will be on 680AMTheFan…
We got the Matinee tomorrow
J. J. Hoover pitching – leadoff double to left…by Caleb Joseph…
March 8th, 20123:17 pm
Excuse me, was it suppose to be sarcasm?
You always say most of the things that folks find obnoxious are you being sarcastic.
“It’s only ST.
None of these games matter.
Let’s keep telling ourselves that.”
S. Training doesn’t matter to me to get Angry over but I love the one’s on here last year who were saying that down the stretch. That 1 game made a Huge Diference
March 8th, 20123:18 pm
Good to see Mixxo is in mid season form……………. Denny’s has wi-fi……
I’m breathing just fine.
We have the same team as last season, minus a few of the bench and piching bums.
And yet some of us expect improvement? Based on what? Blind hope?
It’s gonna be a longer season than 1978…
Single – first and third…
March 8th, 20123:19 pm
Xavier Avery batting…1-2…
March 8th, 20123:20 pm
High to deep right field – run scores on sac…
Optimists will always say anything to prove their moral superiority.
Which is fine. I’m glad they can be that way.
But the writing for this team is on the proverbial wall.
Elsewhere, Adam Dunn with a monster 3-run homer off Neftali Feliz
March 8th, 20123:21 pm
“We have the same team as last season, minus a few of the bench and piching bums.
And yet some of us expect improvement? Based on what? Blind hope?”
They missed the playoffs by only one game. I think it is extremely unlikely that Heyward, Prado, Uggla, and McCann do not hit at least a little better than they did last year. Any slight improvement should be enough to get them to the playoffs.
Where’s that sarcasm smiley again?
March 8th, 20123:22 pm
Agreed, But the Division Got twice as better as opposed to a year ago…
March 8th, 20123:23 pm
Optimism from phil…..
Kimbrel won’t have to worry about choking away the deciding game for a third straight season because no such opportunity will present itself this go around.
The Nats were a garbage team last year and they still won 80 games
“I’m breathing just fine.
And yet some of us expect improvement? Based on what? Blind hope?
It’s gonna be a longer season than 1978…”
Thank you phil and for that 3:20 too.
March 8th, 20123:24 pm
Walk to put runners at 1st and 2nd, one out…
Phil, if you don’t have anything positive to say or believe in the team at all, why are you posting here? Are you going to watch the games? It all would seem like a waste of time to me if you have no hope at all for them.
Pop out to Hicks at 2nd…
March 8th, 20123:25 pm
If the Braves had scored a bunch of runs in the top of the eighth, who cares? So a bunch of guys who won’t be on the Braves ML club scored runs off a bunch of guys who won’t be on the O’s big club.
So they didn’t score runs. So the Braves pitching gives up a run in the bottom of the inning. ST games don’t count, and the portion of the game involving minor league players really doesn’t mean anything.
I can’t Rip Kimmie he doesn’t make 15 mill…
I’m still gonna Rip Derek Blowe, He is still laughing at us for the money he stole last year
March 8th, 20123:26 pm
“Agreed, But the Division Got twice as better as opposed to a year ago…”
The Nats and Marlins still have to win a whole lot of more games than they did last year.
Steve Tolleson – 2-1 count…
Derek’s no dummy.
Rick – we sat on our hands this offseason.
In nascar, teams that do that get blown off the track.
We will finish 20 games under .500 this season. Sick thought but i won’t be surprised.
I think we have a good to very good team. If we get lucky with injuries and hot in September, we could go deep into October.
But an optimist at least takes a stand, whereas a pessimist will quickly abandon his stand once things start to look rosy again.
March 8th, 20123:27 pm
phil, posted a lot on here last year…He’s one of the harsh ones
Yep, spoken like a true Boras client: just put your head down, work hard and don’t commit to any team you’re on until you’re a free agent. He’s gone to the highest bidder next off season, so let’s use him like a workhorse while we’ve got him.
Strike 2 – fouled off – ball 3…
March 8th, 20123:28 pm
Walk loads the bases for Scott Beerer…
Rick – i like your naive front. I really do. I’m not getting all jacked over this team until it actually DOES something other than flap its collective jaws about this and that.
You worry about rick and i’ll worry about phil.
March 8th, 20123:29 pm
1-1 count – fouled for strike 2…
BTW … things we already know …
The Braves bench looks weak.
The Braves minor leagues are thin in position players.
“We will finish 20 games under .500 this season. Sick thought but i won’t be surprised.”
Who is “we?” You clearly don’t care to support this team. I ask again, why waste your time posting here at all?
Why didn’t Frank Wren do anything this offseason? Vacation?
[The Nats and Marlins still have to win a whole lot of more games than they did last year.]
Yes and both teams have the talent to do so…
One has to be full of the Kool Aid to think that this is only going to be a 2 team race for the Division…
And the Braves better not look at the NY Mess as Pushover, You watch! That team is gonna give us fits this year
Grounder to Hicks will send us to the 9th inning…
March 8th, 20123:31 pm
Last chance… to get a win… that doesn’t mean anything.
March 8th, 20123:32 pm
Not this one, DS1.
It’s possible to expect the sports worst of our teams, for good reason, while still getting excited over good play. I’m always hopeful deep down, but i don’t just think it’s world series here we come each spring just because it’s spring. This is certainly the case after last fall’s epic flop followed by no real changes to the team other than dumping the black hole of a bat at ss….
“One has to be full of the Kool Aid to think that this is only going to be a 2 team race for the Division…”
I never said it would be. I still think the Braves will compete though. And with the added wildcard I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if both go to the NL east.
March 8th, 20123:35 pm
Rick – bug off, you moron. I can’t stand the likes of you so go pour your sugar sweet crap on someone else. I’ve been a fan for 37 yrs and will continue to be, whether or not we stink.
Whoever said it was time to do away with the Kool Aid references… I second that motion. Not because of a sensitivity towards a bunch of cultists whose Kool Aid killed them, I’m just sick of reading about Kool Aid 80 times per page.
Gartrell leading off – crushed high and deep to left – foul, on the 1-2 pitch…
Then grounds out…
March 8th, 20123:36 pm
Called strike 3 on Yepez…
Up to Constanza…
I’ll buy that one. But while I am always optimistic about my teams, I still am a realist and know that enough things can go wrong and make for a bad season.
But why start out negative? Just say, I really hope this team does well, but I have some doubts?
Instead, you come across as being an ass. Just one man’s opinion though.
“Rick – i like your naive front. I really do. I’m not getting all jacked over this team until it actually DOES something other than flap its collective jaws about this and that.
You worry about rick and i’ll worry about phil.”
You don’t have to be “jacked about the team” to not be extremely negative about every facet. If I felt that way, I wouldn’t bother following them at all. I never said if I expect the Braves to win the world series or anything like that. What I know is that they have a playoff caliber team that can contend. The season is long and a lot can happen over 162 games, and they will have to perform to their ability in order to make it to the playoffs. No question about that. But predicting they end up under 500 is simply ridiculous and makes me question why you bother at all if you truly think that.
Grounded to second – GAME OVER…
March 8th, 20123:37 pm
Wow this team is looking pretty bad…
Fielding a solid ST roster!
March 8th, 20123:39 pm
“Wow this team is looking pretty bad…”
It’s going to be a long year in Gwinnett, that’s for sure.
March 8th, 20123:40 pm
Thanks VJ and Rick for the PBP. Much appreciated.
Kinda hard to get too down over a ST loss, when most of your best players didn’t even make the trip, and the ones that did only play half the game.
But it’s always more fun when we win.
“Rick – bug off, you moron. I can’t stand the likes of you so go pour your sugar sweet crap on someone else. I’ve been a fan for 37 yrs and will continue to be, whether or not we stink.”
Didn’t you say you wouldn’t be going to any games as long as Fredi is manager? Yeah, you’re such a great fan.
I am being an ass to some extent. So what.
I don’t think this team will succeed. I hope i’m wrong. I see zero so far to change my mind. Zero.
I think it’s ok to express my doubts in an assy manner….if not, skip over me.
Blog cop Rick is just pissed that he can’t control my every expression. Irritating in his own way.
Venice Jim, March 8th, 2012, 3:36 pm … “Up to Constanza…”
Words that strike fear into the hearts of all Braves fans.
March 8th, 20123:41 pm
I love my Braves through thick n’ thin, but I’m also a realist.
Gonna be a long season.
March 8th, 20123:42 pm
I think I agree with Rick.
If you don’t like the team, don’t watch.
Rick – that’s me. You go spend your unemployment check on this crew. Not me. I’ll follow on the tube until FG is canned.
“I think it’s ok to express my doubts in an assy manner” – phil
Alas, then you end up smelling like ass.
March 8th, 20123:43 pm
phil….this is the kool-aid krowd.
March 8th, 20123:44 pm
I do like the team.
That’s exactly why crappy play pisses me off.
You guys be all happy about crap and i’ll be unhappy about it. Ownership is slowly killing us. Wake up.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
