That was some interview…

What a jackass Bourne must be.

Get rid of his butt right now and bring back McOut. I would rather have someone who stinks but cares than some dope who won’t even say a thing about what he does for workouts in the offseason, while being clipped and curt with his other responses as well.

Add me to the can’t stand Bourne Brigade!!

They missed the playoffs by only one game. I think it is extremely unlikely that Heyward, Prado, Uggla, and McCann do not hit at least a little better than they did last year. Any slight improvement should be enough to get them to the playoffs.

If the Braves had scored a bunch of runs in the top of the eighth, who cares? So a bunch of guys who won’t be on the Braves ML club scored runs off a bunch of guys who won’t be on the O’s big club.

So they didn’t score runs. So the Braves pitching gives up a run in the bottom of the inning. ST games don’t count, and the portion of the game involving minor league players really doesn’t mean anything.

Optimism/Pessimism

I think we have a good to very good team. If we get lucky with injuries and hot in September, we could go deep into October.

But an optimist at least takes a stand, whereas a pessimist will quickly abandon his stand once things start to look rosy again.

Not this one, DS1.

It’s possible to expect the sports worst of our teams, for good reason, while still getting excited over good play. I’m always hopeful deep down, but i don’t just think it’s world series here we come each spring just because it’s spring. This is certainly the case after last fall’s epic flop followed by no real changes to the team other than dumping the black hole of a bat at ss….

Rick

I’ll buy that one. But while I am always optimistic about my teams, I still am a realist and know that enough things can go wrong and make for a bad season.

But why start out negative? Just say, I really hope this team does well, but I have some doubts?

Instead, you come across as being an ass. Just one man’s opinion though.

“Rick – i like your naive front. I really do. I’m not getting all jacked over this team until it actually DOES something other than flap its collective jaws about this and that.

You don’t have to be “jacked about the team” to not be extremely negative about every facet. If I felt that way, I wouldn’t bother following them at all. I never said if I expect the Braves to win the world series or anything like that. What I know is that they have a playoff caliber team that can contend. The season is long and a lot can happen over 162 games, and they will have to perform to their ability in order to make it to the playoffs. No question about that. But predicting they end up under 500 is simply ridiculous and makes me question why you bother at all if you truly think that.
