Played some HS ball over around Lilburn (Lilburn, Shiloh, Parkview, Brookwood). But when I see how much Woodstock has grown and developed, it just seems kinda of depressing going over to the old ‘hood.
Last year’s comments whenever I mentioned how well he was doing.
1- He’s old – 24.
2- He’s hitting because he’s in low A-ball.
3- His defense is terrible.
Next year’s comments
1- Can he take over for ROSS now?
2- Can he be as good as McCANN defensively?
3- Was RICHBRAVE actually right about this guy?
Well, remember the last guy I liked besides AL SIMMONS was CHARLIE MORTON. I’ll wait on the accolades where GATTIS is concerned, but I sure am going to LYNCHBURG to see him in 2012. Last year, I blinked and VIZ was in AA. I ain’t waitin’ this time.

But, this is a baseball blog, and there’s no crying in baseball, so I don’t feel too horrible about it.
Haven’t been around much lately. But did want to comment on the Molina finalization of his contract extension. It absolutely hurts the Braves chances of re-signing McCann, imo. I still believe it will happen, but as I have said before, now you have to sign Mac through 2019, his age 35 year old season. That’s a very big commitment to Mac and I’m less sure about him staying with the Braves than I was a couple months back.
Not sure if this was discussed: The Braves will make Nick Swisher their top free agent target next offseason, according to ESPN’s Jim Bowden. Bowden suggests the Yankees could make an all-out push for Andre Ethier if Swisher does head to Atlanta.
He’s the most logical free agent target for the Braves because he a) plays a corner outfield spot, and b) won’t cost as much as some of the other premiere free agents in terms of length of contract. Still have to see the season play out to determine their value going forward, but he makes sense and I’d rather Swisher than Andre Ethier, who can’t hit LHP at all.
Well the games haven’t started yet, so maybe dreaming about having some come from nowhere baseball masher is more fun than resigning oneself to the likelihood of a fifth outfielder of the swinging bunt variety.
Murph – I like you, man…and sometimes you are pretty funny…but…try to back off on the jerk meter a little. We need all the nice new contributers we can get.

BravePack, I have been a brave fan since the age of six when i would watch them on extra inninningsor TbS sitting on my daddys lap. My roommate showed me how to get on this site. I just talked to my sister and she told me to think about go Yellow Jackets and Go braves and pick my self up and look at the new day. I an going to try. I hope it works.
For those of you following baby BRAVES here’s the six minor’s affiliates opening day schedule:
GWINNETT [AAA] – APRIL 5 away
PEARL RIVER [AA] – APRIL 5 home
LYNCHBURG [A+] – APRIL 6 home
ROME [A] – APRIL 5 away
DANVILLE [R+] JUNE 19 home
ORLANDO [R] JUNE 18 home
That’s good advice from your sister. It’s nice when you have family to help you through this. Like I said earlier just keep yourself busy with things that make you happy…even if it’s just the simple, little things.
The last girl I dated before Mrs Murph was a real piece of work. When we broke up she went on an eating/drinking binge and put on a good 40 pounds in just a couple of months.
Ran into her downtown at a club. At first I didn’t recognize her, but when she came over and threw a drink at me, I knew exactly who she was.
The guilt I felt, seeing this once beautiful, vivacious woman now bloated and gross… it was indescribable.
Revenge is a dish best served cold… like Rocky Road ice cream cold.

Murph, I know who it is and you know how it is, but can’t you play along. Give them a little rope….
