It was good. Tyler spoke about how he’s not thinking about who he’s between on the field (Chipper and Uggla). Chipper and Uggla spoke about Tyler and how they thought he’s been very posed being 22 and all. Uggla said that if he himself entered the bigs when he was 22 he wouldn’t have been ready but that he thinks Tyler is. They also spoke to him about his father who is a scout- they asked him what his father’s scout report on him would said he hopes his father would say that he’s a good fielder who can handle the bat. Then the hosts starting talking about how they like that when minor league players in the Braves system show progress they bring them up to the big leagues to see if they can handle it.

DOB: Just read the sunscreen part of the blog. Government may end up banning companies from making anything over SPF 50 due to minimal benefits. It’s basically a scam past 50.

I’m sure you are aware that the team works out over 4 or 5 different fields, and the main field is not super close to the others, right? And that Fredi may not have been anywhere near where Freeman was when he got hurt and maybe nobody mentioned it to him right away? And that there are upwards of 50+ players in camp that he has to observe?

One of the few things I will say about the gas prices is there are way too many blends that have to be processed. IF they just kept it to 1-2 blends that would in itself drop prices a little. When there are 6-8 different blends that have to be processed it costs more to manufacture. And finally, did anyone know that our number 1 export is gas?

This contract for Molina will actually be very helpful and defining for future negotiations for Mac. I’m guessing Mac will get a little bit more, but probably not a considerable amount more.
I suspect Molina wanted to stay in St Louis as Mac wants to stay in ATL. I wouldn’t be overly surprised if we don’t negotiate a deal with Mac sometime during the season. 5/80 to 5/85 sounds about right.

5 years 85 million would have to be the absolute max the Braves would consider for McCann. 17 million a season would make him the highest paid Brave (season salary) ever, and 2nd biggest contract behind Chipper’s. It would make him the 2nd highest paid catcher in the game and he would getting around 18% of the Braves payroll (90 mil)
