saw Billy Joel and Jimmy Buffet on the same bill in a smalll room in Atlanta back around the time of The Pink Crustracean album. I believe it had just come out, that would have been around 73 I guess

nolie … don’t know where I heard (or thought I heard) that Chapin wrote Piano Man. It stuck with me for a while, although I never checked it out to verify. Maybe I’m thinking of a completely other song and singer.
Still, Chapin wrote a bunch of really, really meaningful stuff which fit into the same space as Piano Man.

I saw the lyrics to We Didn’t Start the Fire in my 8th grade student’s binder this morning – she was surprised when I started singing it, but I never did figure out why it was there – I will have to ask on Monday (since she’s been in this particular country for six months, in addition to being a yout, I suspect many of the references are lost on her)…

Kris is a great guy, a great writer and a real real smart dude. He used to play in Key West and other coastal places when he was piloting a copter for the oil rigs B4 Cash and Joplin made him famous. Onea the guys who makes you think that there is a wee bit of a chance that perhaps you ain’t the smartest man in the room. very unusual for my BTW

he was a SEAL for years and when he retired from the service he became a deputy, SWAT guy and trains defensive dogs on the side. I worry about him at time, not for anything he does, but you are right, it’s a hard life

nolie….grew up with my parents…they’re still together…54 years….my biggest tragedy was the death of grand parents…never knew that parents raped their children, or broke their bones, or set them on fire……that world tainted me….I quit….not because I deny that it happens, but because I could not function if I stayed in their world

Oprah Winfrey has seen fit to put the less initiated of my little town on her OWN network’s show “Love Town”….and she chose to show up here two weeks ago (the wife and I went to see her but she’d left before we got there..among the 3000 people that showed up) ..now they’re filming another reality show about parents with newborns (whatever)….and ,oh by the way, a couple of episodes of “Royal Pains” will film here in a couple weeks as well…..anybody wanna be a movie star?

Well, summer is supposed to start in three months. But considering it was in the 60s most of “winter” in Atlanta (70 when I left) and it was 86 here in Orlando on Friday, you probably won’t have to wait three months. Maybe closer to three weeks.
