Hello everyone! John Cafferty, and The Beaver Brown Band is good music too. From the “Eddie & The Cruisers”. Both sound tracks are good from 1and 2 “Eddie Lives…….”
my absolute favorite Jimmy is his version of James Taylor’s “Mexico”…..when I turn on my blender, I listen to that
February 25th, 201211:38 pm
Big Buffet fan, Come Monday is great as is A Pirate Looks at 40
February 25th, 201211:39 pm
Posted to you at the end of the last page…
Mexico is my favorite James Taylor song (out of many of his that I love) so to me any other version would pale- in fairness, never heard Jimmy’s version
February 25th, 201211:40 pm
Thawk, come on, how can you not like Billy Joel, and especially Journey??
You ever listen to the streaming concerts? That s what we have on now

February 25th, 201211:43 pm
saw Billy Joel and Jimmy Buffet on the same bill in a smalll room in Atlanta back around the time of The Pink Crustracean album. I believe it had just come out, that would have been around 73 I guess
I love buffett but the thing that always gets me is how depressing his lyrics are but it still comes across as upbeat
February 25th, 201211:44 pm
nolie … don’t know where I heard (or thought I heard) that Chapin wrote Piano Man. It stuck with me for a while, although I never checked it out to verify. Maybe I’m thinking of a completely other song and singer.
Still, Chapin wrote a bunch of really, really meaningful stuff which fit into the same space as Piano Man.

Jimmy Buffet Doesn’t Live in Key West anymore. great David Allan Coe tribute. can’t quote the lyrics on a family blog
February 25th, 201211:47 pm
i find myself a little old for concerts these days……..streaming would be nice…..but im going to the Wanee festival in April…..google it…..Allmans, Buddy Guy, Trucks…..just wish spread wide was coming back

Jimmy always strikes me as someone that doesn’t take fame too seriously and just has a good time.

73 I guess I was learning to walk…damn I missed so much
February 25th, 201211:48 pm

I saw the lyrics to We Didn’t Start the Fire in my 8th grade student’s binder this morning – she was surprised when I started singing it, but I never did figure out why it was there – I will have to ask on Monday (since she’s been in this particular country for six months, in addition to being a yout, I suspect many of the references are lost on her)…
Kris is a great guy, a great writer and a real real smart dude. He used to play in Key West and other coastal places when he was piloting a copter for the oil rigs B4 Cash and Joplin made him famous. Onea the guys who makes you think that there is a wee bit of a chance that perhaps you ain’t the smartest man in the room. very unusual for my BTW

Salt Life – we have things on the DVR in the bedroom to watch that are more time sensitive than those in the living room…
he was a SEAL for years and when he retired from the service he became a deputy, SWAT guy and trains defensive dogs on the side. I worry about him at time, not for anything he does, but you are right, it’s a hard life
February 26th, 201212:11 am

February 26th, 201212:22 am
nolie – have several friends followed same path…said it was easier to disassociate during military encounters than with your neighbors. Assume it also depends very much on the individual
February 26th, 201212:25 am
nolie….grew up with my parents…they’re still together…54 years….my biggest tragedy was the death of grand parents…never knew that parents raped their children, or broke their bones, or set them on fire……that world tainted me….I quit….not because I deny that it happens, but because I could not function if I stayed in their world
February 26th, 201212:26 am
yeah I can see that tiger, but the difference in what he did in war and what happens down here is vast. perhaps in a more violent situation it would be different

I hate winter (45 degrees here)……where the hell is summer?!!!! — Salt Life
Well, summer is supposed to start in three months. But considering it was in the 60s most of “winter” in Atlanta (70 when I left) and it was 86 here in Orlando on Friday, you probably won’t have to wait three months. Maybe closer to three weeks.
February 26th, 20128:08 am
Say thanks for the Man In Black, who would’ve been 80 today. He was the Real Thing.
R.I.P., Johnny Cash.
February 26th, 20128:16 am
Tyler Pastornicky and Freddie Freeman look like twins in the face. I know Freddie is a lot bigger then Tyler. But wow they could be twins.
February 26th, 20128:28 am
Johnny’s cover of Trent Reznor’s “Hurt,” with what remains the most poignant and powerful video I’ve ever seen, particularly the scene where June is looking down from the steps.
June died in May 2003, and Johnny died four months later.

Tyler Pastornicky and Freddie Freeman look like twins in the face. I know Freddie is a lot bigger then Tyler. But wow they could be twins. — Ted M
You’re right — they do look a lot alike. Not twins-alike, but a lot alike.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
