Today the players took the field and began taking reps for fielding practice. Gorgeous day at Champion Stadium.
1st Base Freeman Hinske Meija
2nd Uggla Wilson Sutton
SS Pastor Hicks Simmons
3rd Chipper Terdoslavich
Then towards the end Terdoslavich left 3rd and joined for reps at 1st Base
Same thing for Wilson as he took reps at 3rd Base
Josh Wilson was wearing number 11
Drew Sutton was wearing number 4

From what I read about Terdoslavish is that he is projected as a 1B/DH type and that he’s seen more as a Bench player. Here is the paragraph.
Terdo is the great hope many Braves fans have, due to his solid numbers, seemingly out of nowhere. However, defensively he profiles as not being able to stick anywhere other than 1B or DH. At this point, his bat doesn’t profile as being at the level necessary for a MLB 1B or DH, though he could be an okay bench bat or part time DH in the AL. But, he could pile on another year of solid offensive growth and surprise us by becoming an average MLB 1B bat. Certainly doesn’t seem to have the athleticism, defensive reflexes or arm to play a MLB 3rd base though, which many Braves fans seem to be hoping he will play as the heir apparent to Chipper at 3rd. He seems to sit in an awkward area of bat not good enough for 1B and glove not good enough for 3B. (FJR)
Also Keith Law on multiple chats has called Terdo a player getting too much hype and is just a extra guy to him.

6:44 pm
Also about Andrelton Simmons I asked Keith Law on Facebook if a good comparison for him is Omar Vizquel (ceiling) and Jack Wilson (Floor)…. He said I was too optimistic and that those are too high. So the floor is most likely a Rey Ordonez type Shortstop. All Glove no bat type.

I know today was first day, but Terdoslavich looked very comfortable and at home at his old position at 3rd base. Bobbled only one chance and made very strong and accurate throws on all chances to 1st. Chipper made a high throw that sailed into the stands and hit an elderly man in the stomach. Man was fine as Hinske checked in on him and said 1st day Chipper has no clue where the ball is going. Funny stuff

I miss the days when the Braves needed a player they went out and got one, didnt matter if it was the Yankees or whoever we had a shot. These days we KNOW the Braves are not going to spend the money to win. The Braves are just like the Hawks, cheapass owners.
For the first time since the 80s I will not follow spring training. Liberty is being cheap and there are a lot of sheeple on here that will support them and say we are on a short budget. Whe the stands are half empty with a subpar team on the field you will know who to blame.

Makes sense to me. We all know it’s about who has the most money…

Keith Law is a straight shooter. He tells you his true opinion regardless if your a big fan of the prospect or not. His beef with the Braves is how they been drafting the past few years. We have been taking players will low ceilings, guys who have a great shot to be major league players but max out as average players. Also our system doesn’t have any really good hitting prospects. We have tons of pitching and speed and defense. All of our positional players prospects question marks center around offense.
I really value his opinion and he’s right most of the time. He’s the Mel Kiper Jr. of baseball.

Surely DOB, the AJC can afford to spring for a rental car. — 1eyesJack
How do you think I get back and forth from condo every day, monorail? I have a rental car for the entire 47-day stay. But to get to the car in the parking long outside ballpark, drive to a restaurant (through what is usually heavy Disney-area traffic) and get something to eat in middle of the day would take more than an hour. Can’t just leave the ballpark for an hour in the middle of the day while workout is going on, and have to write once we get back up to pressbox after workout and post-workout interviews.
