Lots of folks undoubtedly going to bed early to be ready for the wake-up call to practice tomorrow morning…
Except for me, VJ. I’m wild enough to experience the first day of ST’s pitching & catching, with a hangover and very little sleep.
I’m a bit of rebel, however.

Hi, Choppinmama! Long time, no see! Was just talking about you the other day…
Sorry I missed your post this morning! Now, I’ve heard of that movie, Gigi, I think…is that a musical?
We did watch a great movie today—it’s called Gone With The Wind. Maybe you’ve heard of it…
February 18th, 20128:56 pm

“Teheran and Delgado figured to compete with Mike Minor for the fifth-starter spot”….DOB
It’s time for Minor to separate himeself from competing for the 5th spot in the rotation. He went into camp last year competing with Beachy for the 5th spot, and this year he goes in competing with two other pitchers for the 5th spot.
Minor has 24 MLB starts, and was the 7th player picked, after pitching in college. If he has to compete for the 5th spot, you wonder if the Braves made the best pick at #7 in 2009.
February 18th, 20129:05 pm
Wow – UConn women were going for their 100th straight home win – and lose to St. John’s…
February 18th, 20129:10 pm
Just got back from my dear friend’s wake. I am gonna miss him so much. Tomorrow is going to be hard.
February 18th, 20129:14 pm
Mercedes Benz time, I suspect…
February 18th, 20129:15 pm
Hang in there, Chris…
February 18th, 20129:17 pm
Jay Dubu–I cry a bit inside when I look at that 2009 draft and see Trout’s name…way after we picked Minor…sigh…
February 18th, 20129:22 pm
I almost lost it tonight, but for his wife and daughters, I tried to keep and stay strong. I hate to say it, but funerals are becoming to frequent for me.
I am making home made lasagna, the way my brother did it, get my mind off it all.
February 18th, 20129:30 pm
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friend, and his family.
February 18th, 20129:44 pm
I just learned tonight, that my friend Joe, who was VERY close to my brother, was heart broken he couldn’t make it to my brother’s funeral last year because of his health problems kept him in hospital at the time. It hit me straight to my heart. Joe was more than a friend to me. He was like an uncle to me. Always watched out for me at work, he was head security officer at the mill and I am a cleaner there. When I was sick at work a few times, he was first one there for me.
I am going to miss that man
February 18th, 20129:45 pm
Sound went out on cable box. Time Warner’s earliest time to come look at it is TUESDAY. THAT’S THREE [expletive deleted] DAYS FROM NOW.
February 18th, 20129:46 pm
And that was not the best timing. My apologies
February 18th, 20129:49 pm
Chris – I am truly sorry for your loss. Peace be with you
February 18th, 20129:51 pm
P & C! P & C! Almost time for P & C!
February 18th, 20129:56 pm
hey nc girl – we all missed out on Trout. Too bad we cannot get a package with Teheran, etc, for Trout. We could offer Teheran, Jurrjens, Bethancourt, and Prado and the Angels would likely say no way.
The key for the Braves, as all teams, is to find the next Trout. Find the guy with the high ceiling in high school and don’t be afraid to spend money when you identify your target in the draft. Fine to play it safe sometimes in the draft but you cannot play it safe all the time. Multiple minor league/prospect “experts” (and the quotes are there for a reason) rank the Braves very, very low when discussing the last 2 drafts. We also have not done as well with our Latin/South American signings the past few years. If the Braves draft all college players this draft, I will probably have a fit
That’s OK, I completely understand. Not your fault at all.
I haven’t been the same since my bro died and now losing Joe, it just down right sucks.
February 18th, 20129:57 pm
Thanks brian. Much appreciated.
I am doing things to keep my mind occupied.
February 18th, 20129:59 pm
McFann: Howdy! I’ve been lurking, just not much to say. Not much for speculating, offering up different lineup scenarios, or bitchin’ about who we didn’t sign, how much $$ we’re not spending, or how lousy Fredi will be again this year. Yawn, yawn, yawn. Just patiently waiting for this very week to get here.
It’s Braves baseball time!
btw – what were you sayin’ about me?
February 18th, 201210:02 pm
Agree Brian. No need for another ready for the majors Pitcher as the first pick…If I read the word sign-ability? Ugh…
Sorry for your loss Chris.
February 18th, 201210:06 pm
Talking about good movies – I’m a sucker for the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice. Like the older one too, but love this newer version. I’ll watch it any time, at any point in time that I find it.
Been catching up on all the Cold Cases too. Where was I when that show was originally on? Great writing and imaginative storylines.
Gotta get all this other tv show watching done over the off season, ’cause my nightly viewing will soon be locked on the team!
February 18th, 201210:08 pm
Aw… I’m so sorry. That’s really…that’s really hard, I’m sure. Hang in there…
I agree—I’ve been laying fairly low this off-season, as well…that’s not to say I didn’t have my moments…
Haha! Just sayin’ that I hadn’t seen you around in a while, talking about how you’ve got one of my favorite monikers of all time, that kinda stuff…
February 18th, 201210:13 pm
The key for the Braves, as all teams, is to find the next Trout. Find the guy with the high ceiling in high school and don’t be afraid to spend money when you identify your target in the draft.
that’s what they used to try to do, but not the last few years, nor in the near future either probably
February 18th, 201210:18 pm
Interesting – not the cable box fault – the sound cable inexplicably ceased functioning just as we finished something on the DVR and went back to cable…
February 18th, 201210:19 pm
McFann: Down here near Tallahassee, I’m always having to explain about my moniker that “no, I’m not a FSU graduate, I’m a Braves fan.”
Bet your Chelonia buddies are loving this wet weather. Amost time for them to come out of their winter hibernation, right? Hope they’ll be in playing shape by April!
February 18th, 201210:20 pm
The sound cable which was provided by Time Warner
February 18th, 201210:22 pm
VJ FIXED THE TV!
Yes! They’ll wake up tomorrow! Totally excited!! They should be in great shape…
Down here near Tallahassee, I’m always having to explain about my moniker that “no, I’m not a FSU graduate, I’m a Braves fan.”
Haha! Yeah, they stole our fight song, didn’t they?…
February 18th, 201210:36 pm
Well, looks like I killed the Blog…
Ah well, that’s it for me, anyway—if it was any night but Saturday night, I’d stay up till midnight for P&C Report Day! But what are they reporting on a Sunday for, anyway? That’s weird…should be like, Monday or something…
Oh well, at least it’s finally here! Night, all!!
February 18th, 201210:38 pm
February 18th, 201211:01 pm
And now I’ve killed the blog. Again.
Am I gn to have to post 30 times in a row to get folks to come back?

February 18th, 201211:20 pm
Good thing I got her eating and away from the computer….
February 18th, 201211:21 pm
Wren has to have a list of young OF to go after if we need that one more bat. alex Gordon, Peter Bourjos, Lorenzo Cain, etc., have to be near the top of his list.I am still surprised that we did not go after Cain and Alcedes Escobar or possibly Gordo and Escobar for Prado or Jurrjens plus prospect(s)
Solving SS and LF
February 18th, 201211:23 pm
to beat a dead horse since no one is here
February 18th, 201211:27 pm
At least no one talking Braves…
February 18th, 201211:29 pm
It’s hard to post 15 Braves posts in a row!
February 18th, 201211:30 pm
Is that a challenge?
February 18th, 201211:32 pm
(average 4.8 words in each of those 15 posts)…
February 18th, 201211:33 pm
Sigh. Losing more points…
February 18th, 201211:42 pm
I can smell the baseball in the air!
February 18th, 201211:45 pm
I can too
Baseball is keeping me grounded right now
February 18th, 201211:55 pm
Athletes are so programmed to give that “company” line. The Braves players got to be the definition of that. I think Chipper is as close to “real” giving answers as you’ll find anywhere near the organization.
February 18th, 201211:57 pm
Ba Boom Ba Boom Ba Boom Boom Ba Boom Boom Boom!!!

What Are your Predictions for the Braves?
Until they can show some heart and Beat Philly in September Games…They will be 1 and done in the playoffs…They better suprise the fans in Atlanta this year! Because they are losing fan support again Down here In The “A’

The 2012 Atlanta Braves can do anything they set their hearts and minds to do! Go Braves!
February 19th, 201212:24 am
someone made a great post about bubba. gonna be a tough spring training for jeff porter.
February 19th, 201212:41 am
I’m probably an idiot for saying this – but Spring Training might be good for him. When you can’t do anything to change things that have happened, looking forward is the best thing you can do.
February 19th, 201212:48 am
Hello everyone! Tomorrow you could see the whinners, and trolls come on too,so be care.
February 19th, 201212:49 am
Be careful that you don’t get into thier crap.
February 19th, 201212:57 am
Anyone going to check out the new Ghost Rider? Should be a good movie to see.
February 19th, 201212:59 am
Don’t know if this has been posted or not but its Perfect Game USA take on the Braves and their top prospects. For those unfamiliar with Perfect Game it is the largest scouting service for high school players in the US. The put on top events in Marietta, GA and Fort Myers, FL and the top prospects are usually always in attendance.
February 19th, 20121:03 am
Was checking out some new movies coming out in theaters. “The Avengers”,”Spider Man”,and “Safe House”,all look like movies you would want to see.
February 19th, 20121:05 am
“Safe House”, is getting really good reviews, and I think it will be Oscar worthy too.
cabravesfan: You’ve really got a lot to get off your chest tonight, huh? Feeling loquacious, aren’t you? Going on and on at length….
February 19th, 20121:06 am
I leave you with fan-made live video of ATL’s own excellent Black Lips doing their tribute to Chief Noc-A-Homa, complete with boozy chop/war chant intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QETGNyY5eg
February 19th, 20121:09 am
dob, remember dash riprock?
February 19th, 20121:12 am
dash, was or were the boys before = with the scorchers.
Been checking out the movie list, and “Batman 3″, will be coming out in July. The new “Superman”, will be coming out too. Should be another great year for movie nuts like me,and that is cool.
February 19th, 20121:18 am
I plan on seeing “The Descendents”,and “The Artist” ,and will add them to my colection to.
February 19th, 20121:20 am
Both those movie have been getting Oscar nomination buzzes.”The Atrtist” looks like it could get some Oscars to.
February 19th, 20121:21 am
ward, aint no car chases in the “the artist’
February 19th, 20121:27 am
uga-Every now ,and then I look at other films too. “The Artist”,might be slow, and a drama type movie, but there is supposed to be very well done acting in it.Varities are good for collection. At least that’s the way I think, and how I like to collect movies.
February 19th, 20121:28 am
Who the hell cares?
February 19th, 20121:29 am
well said ward.
MIBravesFan-How you doing?
lol at myself!
February 19th, 20121:30 am
Ward, can’t get over the lame-o football field crumbling scene from the Dark Knight Rises trailer. Easily the crappiest looking thing I’ve ever seen in a piece of a movie that I greatly anticipate.
BAS, is right.
February 19th, 20121:31 am
Looking forward to ST as you are, Ward!:)
February 19th, 20121:33 am
bas, note the 1:27.
Dabney Coleman-Still think “Batman 3″ will be worth seeing.
February 19th, 20121:35 am
MIBravesFan- Looking forward to see the young players, and the young pitching Prospects.
February 19th, 20121:36 am
Looking forward to the new summer movies too.
February 19th, 20121:37 am
Yeah, I’ll see it. Nolan’s a good film maker. Just hard to believe the comic book movie franchise that’s done the best job of avoiding too much CGI will apparently have the worst CGI moment since Jar Jar Binks.
We need a program to keep track of who is who around here sometimes! I don’t really care, in the long run I know it doesn’t matter!
February 19th, 20121:42 am
Dabney Coleman- This summer will be great for comic movie fans.
February 19th, 20121:44 am
Tomahawkin, I see us winning the wild card. Who knows what happens after that though. Short series can get really wild and they often do. Almost a toss up.
February 19th, 20121:46 am
ChattTownBrian-I see Wild Card to,and a Big year for Heyward, and Prado. The rebirth of careers.
I think our pitching depth pulls us through at the end and of course the pen will be there to save the day again. That’s if “ya know” guy doesn’t wear those arms out by the end of the summer.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
