Except for me, VJ. I’m wild enough to experience the first day of ST’s pitching & catching, with a hangover and very little sleep.

“Teheran and Delgado figured to compete with Mike Minor for the fifth-starter spot”….DOB
It’s time for Minor to separate himeself from competing for the 5th spot in the rotation. He went into camp last year competing with Beachy for the 5th spot, and this year he goes in competing with two other pitchers for the 5th spot.
Minor has 24 MLB starts, and was the 7th player picked, after pitching in college. If he has to compete for the 5th spot, you wonder if the Braves made the best pick at #7 in 2009.

I almost lost it tonight, but for his wife and daughters, I tried to keep and stay strong. I hate to say it, but funerals are becoming to frequent for me.
I am making home made lasagna, the way my brother did it, get my mind off it all.

I just learned tonight, that my friend Joe, who was VERY close to my brother, was heart broken he couldn’t make it to my brother’s funeral last year because of his health problems kept him in hospital at the time. It hit me straight to my heart. Joe was more than a friend to me. He was like an uncle to me. Always watched out for me at work, he was head security officer at the mill and I am a cleaner there. When I was sick at work a few times, he was first one there for me.
I am going to miss that man

hey nc girl – we all missed out on Trout. Too bad we cannot get a package with Teheran, etc, for Trout. We could offer Teheran, Jurrjens, Bethancourt, and Prado and the Angels would likely say no way.
The key for the Braves, as all teams, is to find the next Trout. Find the guy with the high ceiling in high school and don’t be afraid to spend money when you identify your target in the draft. Fine to play it safe sometimes in the draft but you cannot play it safe all the time. Multiple minor league/prospect “experts” (and the quotes are there for a reason) rank the Braves very, very low when discussing the last 2 drafts. We also have not done as well with our Latin/South American signings the past few years. If the Braves draft all college players this draft, I will probably have a fit

Talking about good movies – I’m a sucker for the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice. Like the older one too, but love this newer version. I’ll watch it any time, at any point in time that I find it.
Been catching up on all the Cold Cases too. Where was I when that show was originally on? Great writing and imaginative storylines.
Gotta get all this other tv show watching done over the off season, ’cause my nightly viewing will soon be locked on the team!

Wren has to have a list of young OF to go after if we need that one more bat. alex Gordon, Peter Bourjos, Lorenzo Cain, etc., have to be near the top of his list.I am still surprised that we did not go after Cain and Alcedes Escobar or possibly Gordo and Escobar for Prado or Jurrjens plus prospect(s)

Athletes are so programmed to give that “company” line. The Braves players got to be the definition of that. I think Chipper is as close to “real” giving answers as you’ll find anywhere near the organization.

Don’t know if this has been posted or not but its Perfect Game USA take on the Braves and their top prospects. For those unfamiliar with Perfect Game it is the largest scouting service for high school players in the US. The put on top events in Marietta, GA and Fort Myers, FL and the top prospects are usually always in attendance.

I think our pitching depth pulls us through at the end and of course the pen will be there to save the day again. That’s if “ya know” guy doesn’t wear those arms out by the end of the summer.
