Dammit!

American History X is Censored! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I hate Censorship!!!

This ST may be C-MART’s swan song as a BRAVE if he’s out of options and FISH excels in ST. CRISTHIAN will be 30 in a couple weeks.

Yeah, American History X indeed, :) . What is that anyway a study of soft porn in American? Or would that be XX? Heh!

It’s actually a very good movie- but it’s very violent and the subject matter is pretty heavy. Also there is a lot of language that is not cable friendly

BTW, if JAIRO’s also out of options, he’s 28 on May 5 this year. Getting late for that full-time gig in ATLANTA. Nine years in the minor’s, but this may be his year if the BRAVES have to go with only two lefty’s in the pen.

We need to stop going with once they throw 100 pitches there done. Guys can go longer than that they just won’t let them.

in reference to the bullpen…

The locks are Kimbrel, Venters, O’Flarethy and Medlen. That would leave 3 slots for Martinez, Varvaro, Asencio, Fish, Gerrin, Vizcanio and Moylan.

In ST there is always a sore elbow, a pulled grion or pulled hamstring. So the Braves will need 4 arms for the final three slots. I believe the Braves will put Varvaro, Martinez, and Asencio on the roster. Fish will be the LOOGY who gets on the roster when a bullpen injury occurs in ST. Vizcanio goes to AAA to be streched out as a starter andget more seasoning.

GO BRAVES…

Did anyone see the lecture given by Wren at Georgia Tech? Interesting quotes from a graduate student that attended. Read every day, never post.

Braves did not hit last year. Multiple starters were hurt during the year. The bullpen was burned out with 1 month left in the season. The Braves endured a colossal slump during the last month. All this and they were but 1 game out of the playoffs.

The Braves have a lot of ifs going into this year but they do not need them all to make it to the playoffs. Everything went wrong last year. Maybe this year everything will fall our way. The ifs in my order of importance.

1. Heyward regains his swing. We will learn early on if he regains his pop.
2. Hanson regains his health and pitches like the ace of the staff. Cannot wait to see the new delivery
3. Pastornicky is ML ready.
4. Hudson returns healthy and effective.
5. Beachy and Minor continue to progress and improve.
6. Fredi learns how to use his bullpen effectively
7. another 2-3+ arms become reliable bullpen arms
8. No sophomore slump for Freeman
9. Uggla avoids a career worst start
10. Chipper has something left in the tank
11. Jurrjens returns healthy and effective
12. Prado returns to form
13. McCann picks up where he left off……before the oblique injury
14. Teheran learns a breaking pitch.
15. Delgado matures

Shameless plug time. Check out our Atlanta Baseball Talk podcast interview with Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus. Kevin talks about his Top 11 Braves prospects as well as the Braves draft philosophy in general. Warning: he’s not too positive about it all. You can listen here. Thanks.

richbrave – Thing is that Martinez has produced and made a significant contribution at the major league level and Asencio had a good winter. Big difference – not to mention that when he WAS up last year, Asencio got hammered pretty well – a 6.23 ERA and a WHIP of 2.

And as I mentioned earlier – do we even know if it IS Jairo Asencio?

I’m so worried about what’s happenin’ today, in the middle east, you know.
And I’m worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow.
I’m so worried about the fashions today, I don’t think they’re good for your feet.
And I’m so worried about the shows on TV that sometimes they want to repeat.

I’m so worried about what’s happenin’ today, you know.
And I’m worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow.
I’m so worried about my hair falling out and the state of the world today.
And I’m so worried about bein’ so full of doubt about everything, anyway.

I’m so worried about modern technology.
I’m so worried about all the things that they dump in the sea.
I’m so worried about it, worried about it, worried, worried, worried.

I’m so worried about everything that can go wrong.
I’m so worried about whether people like this song.
I’m so worried about this very next verse, it isn’t the best that I’ve got.
And I’m so worried about whether I should go on, or whether I should just stop.

(pause)

I’m worried about whether I ought to have stopped.
And I’m worried, because it’s the sort of thing I ought to know.
And I’m worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow.

VENTERS – lefty

MEDLEN
MARTINEZ ????
FISH – lefty ????
ASENCIO ????
VARVARO ????
GEARRIN ????

For sure MOYLAN won’t start out there.
And for sure two guys are going to be mighty disappointed.

Moe, I have a lot of friends coming down to my summer place for their vacations. As soon as they know when they can come down, they tell me. It’s almost like take bookings for a motel/hotel. Once we coordinate that, I’ll know better.

For just one game, however, it shouldn’t be too hard to get away. It’s a 3-hr drive from Albany, or from Shinhopple (Catskills). I could leave from either.

I agree 100 percent on the first three Costello albums, and I would definitely add “Get Happy” and say that his first four albums rank right up there with anyone else’s frst four. There was a time that he could not write a bad song. Even his b sides, collected on “Taking Liberties” and the Import Compliation whose name escapes me right now (”Ten Bloody Mary’s and Ten How’s your Fathers” or something like that) are worth checking out. After that he became more hit or miss for me, although “Imperial Bedroom” is one of my all time favorite records.
