cabravesfan – check this out!

Before I passed out for the night, I figured I’d send your link of the Gary Carter tribute to a friend of mine’s father. He’s the only one I can think of that was an Expos fan. And he’s a HOF catcher (in the Albany Twilight League). Carter was his, “main man”.

No matter how many different ways I tried to send it, I couldn’t. I kept getting; This video has been removed by the user.
Sorry about that.

You’re up on this kind of stuff (more than most of us). What do you make of it? I watched it and, then, a few seconds later, I couldn’t link it!?! I no longer could watch it… I no longer didn’t believe that there wasn’t a devil…. (I digress)

Wow, that was the worst 40-minute set I’ve ever seen. The scary part: the summary had him also talking about “his early efforts at becoming a gangster” and his take on Eminem, both of which were edited out. I know the guy’s not a comedian, but based on “Wild ‘N Out,” I expected better…

Stand up is tough, for sure. Better re-watch Louis CK’s last special, just to remember the funny…

Typing of which, I gave “Parks and Rec” another shot, with the Louis guest spot; man, that show still blows. Ken Tremendous f’d me, is what I’m sayin’…

No excuse for your boy to be average range already. Bad projection, man. Range is all want-to, at that age. Teach him angles, teach him pre-pitch preparation, and teach him a decent crossover (also great for base-stealing). Tell him that ball is gold, and you want it. Bribery allowed. Ask Jonny…

Tomahawkin, your sarcasm is justified. This ain’t exactly a new act. We’ve seen this here movie before. I can’t recall him showing up looking like he’d spent the off-season swilling beer and eating dounuts though. AVille, yes I guess when you blow out a knee and can’t walk. You are right, I guess he should have dragged himself on the field. Hey Chipper, get off the operation table and get on the field. Hey Huddy,,, you had your surgery a short bit ago, what do you mean you can’t start throwing at the start of pitchers and catchers. Prado,, staf shmaf infection. Get on the field lazy.

1 million for Raul Ibanez is a good bargain. Hard to believe they had to unload Burnetts contract to make such a signing. While Raul is coming off his worst season and near the end of his career I’d expect him to put better numbers up as a DH and in that Yankee lineup.

Ray

Chipper is still gonna be a productive player, only question is how much is he gonna play. Chipper has never OPSed under 800. in his career and I think that will continue. I think he’ll hit around 270/350/450 and play atleast 115 games. But I could also see Chipper having a much higher OBP and lower SLG.

VaBravesFan

Even the Yankees the fortifying the bench for that monster lineup. I really thought Andruw Jones would have been the perfect fit for us. He completely mashes LHP and I think he could play Center Field for 10 games or so. Bourn is gonna play 150+ games so back up CFer isnt a huge need IMO. Wren really missed the boat on making sure we have good depth behind our starters.

Chipper has missed around 40 games a season since 2004 and is 40 years old.

Prado coming off injury and only playing in 129 games last season. Also had a down year.

Heyward coming off shoulder concerns and major mechanics problems.

Pastornicky the young rookie gets the nod at Shortstop, concerns about defense and if he’s actually ready.

Now there’s 4 crucial everyday players with legit concerns. Just tidbits on the others, We really have to figure Uggla will be better. He still produced a good season (power wise) Freeman entering the sophmore season how will he do? So many good rookie’s seem to struggle or not take a step up in year 2. McCann is coming off a horrible September and a injury and entering the last gaurenteed year of his contract. Michael Bourn added amazing defense and speed on the bases but wasn’t that good in Atlanta only posting a 321. OBP

Our Backups who might be called on to play more than expected.

Matty Diaz, below average defender, has seen his OPS drop over the past few years, has lost his power and is a good singles hitter vs LHP.

Hinske our primary pinch hitter was horrible in that role last season and is also a below average defender. Coming off a bad year overall and only really hits RHP, He struck out almost as much in 2010 with less ABs and hit 197. as a pinch hitter with 27 Strikeouts in 61 ABs

Wilson our backup infielder’s main value is his very good defense and veteran presence in the club house and taking Pastor underneath his wing, But when it comes to hitting you do not want him getting many At bats, just a horrible hitter. Since 2008 he’s owns a 627 OPS

David Ross, actually a bright spot he’s one of the best backups in baseball and is solid all around.

Then we have Constanza and Durango as outfield hopefulls, just a pair of speedy singles hitter who can provide good defense and baserunning. You really don’t want either of them to get any kind of extended playing what so ever.
