Do we get just CCR or both CCR and Tina and Ike?

February 19th, 201211:43 pm
Link to the video of Canadiens tribute to Gary Carter- keep listening…the English words come after the French. ( unless you are Tom and can speak French)
February 19th, 201211:44 pm
Ha,ha! DOB, notice I said, “character”, and not “person”. BAS will understand.
February 19th, 201211:45 pm
Right, I forgot I sent one to him too…I’ll send one to Ease too.
And anybody else who wants to join our blog fantasy league, just let me know. All I ask is that you stay active (which was a problem for the bottom the past 2 years)
February 19th, 201211:46 pm
If you’re looking for some good CCR covers, check out TLM
February 19th, 201211:47 pm
Sorry to hear jeffrey had troubles with his bottom the last two years…
February 19th, 201211:49 pm
Not sure Threat Level Midnight is on the alphabetup…
(have I mentioned I saw that episode flying back from NYC last year as some people “slept?)…
That’s nice, cabravesfan. My father would have loved that (or maybe, he DOES, who knows?).
I think I thought Pride but never typed…
February 19th, 201211:53 pm
Sorry to hear jeffrey had troubles with his bottom the last two years
He’s not gonna go into detail, like T-Hawkin, is he?
February 19th, 201211:55 pm
Potential Bruce coming up – Prove It All Night…
February 19th, 201211:57 pm
Time for me to head to bed. A bit tired today. Good night all!
Night Tom- glad you liked the video (and I like to think that your dad does like it )
February 19th, 201211:58 pm
VJ, I have nothing until, “Proud Mary”, by CCR.
February 19th, 201211:59 pm
I think/hope so, cabravesfan. And, good night. It was a fun night, yes?
February 20th, 201212:01 am
Tom – hence my CCR and/or Ike and Tina…
wow ya’ll still going…I’m proud I’m still listening
February 20th, 201212:02 am
I am so dumb – call Prove It All Night, forget Promised Land…
February 20th, 201212:03 am
VJ, is probably upset he missed a …”Brucey”
My time delay on the internet feed shows up, ya know?
February 20th, 201212:06 am
tiger, go for one. Title of a song, that is.
Eric sneaks in again…
February 20th, 201212:07 am
Fun, as always
February 20th, 201212:08 am
If your dad is anything like you, he’s hanging with Gary, having a beer and telling stories as we speak
February 20th, 201212:09 am
I was hoping no one would noticemy typing error, but no one is perfect………Talk tomorrow……..
I’m struggling…I like this music now but growing up this soft stuff wasn’t on any of my tape decks…
February 20th, 201212:11 am
Another “Promises” coming up? No clue.
(thanks, LAdy )
I’m not a music fan to the level of any of you folks
February 20th, 201212:13 am
Good night all.
February 20th, 201212:14 am
Nor did I – not familiar with this Pat Banatar…
when its sleepy time down south….
February 20th, 201212:16 am
tiger, they’re spanning 45 years (according to VJ). Try thinking of the names of single songs of the groups you like.
They really seem to play a lot of songs from groups that have made a big impact on the rock world.
We ate early (and, as a result, began happy hour earlier than usual, and, by random chance, happy hour consisted of vodka martinis for some of us)…making sleepiness more of an issue than it might otherewise be, despite my desire to continue listening…
February 20th, 201212:17 am
February 20th, 201212:18 am
Will at least hang in until we go rolling on…the..ri…ver…
Speaking of which…
February 20th, 201212:20 am
I think all of your, “typos”, are telling me you’ve had it for the night. Good night, Jim.
Oh, and thanks for giving me this link. I’ve had a lot of fun with it.
February 20th, 201212:21 am
Either that or a great way to pad, if I was that type of person…
Cool – got them both!!!
February 20th, 201212:22 am
EXCELLENT way to pad, IMO. (just don’t let, nolie, know.)
February 20th, 201212:23 am
Good way to close out my night…
February 20th, 201212:26 am
Even better – Trifecta to close out my night!!!
Perfect way to roll into bed, buddy. (Don’t worry about not getting this Springsteen song)
February 20th, 201212:27 am
Oops, my bad. You DID say that, didn’t you? Sorry…
February 20th, 201212:31 am
I was thinking Psycho Killer – my guys in Richmond (Uisce Beatha) usually closed out the night with it…but I will not claim credit after-the-fact…
Okay – gone now – to be continued…
February 20th, 201212:37 am
I’m going to bed now, too, VJ. “PU” songs are coming up next. I think those titles will be right in, jeffrey d’s, wheelhouse.
February 20th, 20121:24 am
cabravesfan – check this out!
Before I passed out for the night, I figured I’d send your link of the Gary Carter tribute to a friend of mine’s father. He’s the only one I can think of that was an Expos fan. And he’s a HOF catcher (in the Albany Twilight League). Carter was his, “main man”.
No matter how many different ways I tried to send it, I couldn’t. I kept getting; This video has been removed by the user.
Sorry about that.
You’re up on this kind of stuff (more than most of us). What do you make of it? I watched it and, then, a few seconds later, I couldn’t link it!?! I no longer could watch it… I no longer didn’t believe that there wasn’t a devil…. (I digress)
Bay Area Steve
February 20th, 20121:55 am
“I no longer didn’t believe that there wasn’t a devil”
I’m even more hammered than usual, this bein’ a quasi-holiday and all, but there’s like fourteen negatives in that sentence, right? ‘Cause I’m strugglin’…
Shoot, this is like a VJ-correction post. How far have I fallen…
February 20th, 20121:59 am
I’m now going to watch a Nick Cannon stand-up special…
Expectations are low, is what I’m sayin’. Though, I do usually find a guy more likable once he might die. Mitchell, any health concerns?
February 20th, 20122:02 am
Meant to say, I think “this video has been removed by the user” translates to “we temporarily infringed on somebody’s copyright; please don’t sue us” in the interwebs/tubes era.
February 20th, 20122:59 am
Wow, that was the worst 40-minute set I’ve ever seen. The scary part: the summary had him also talking about “his early efforts at becoming a gangster” and his take on Eminem, both of which were edited out. I know the guy’s not a comedian, but based on “Wild ‘N Out,” I expected better…
Stand up is tough, for sure. Better re-watch Louis CK’s last special, just to remember the funny…
Typing of which, I gave “Parks and Rec” another shot, with the Louis guest spot; man, that show still blows. Ken Tremendous f’d me, is what I’m sayin’…
February 20th, 20123:04 am
No excuse for your boy to be average range already. Bad projection, man. Range is all want-to, at that age. Teach him angles, teach him pre-pitch preparation, and teach him a decent crossover (also great for base-stealing). Tell him that ball is gold, and you want it. Bribery allowed. Ask Jonny…
February 20th, 20123:11 am
Sunrise – 7:00
‘OB through 25 oz coffee – 7:10
Pic uploaded to twitter – 7:15
Only an hour to go. Go get ‘em, boys…
February 20th, 20123:18 am
Wow, it’s only 12:15 my time? Shoot, p&c sunrise may have to wait. 12:15? Where si everybody?
February 20th, 20123:24 am
February 20th, 20123:43 am
You noles. You’re everybody. You and the occasional ward…
February 20th, 20126:25 am
February 20th, 2012
Miss catching her voice down at SAM MILLER’s in the ’slip.’ Quite a singer, wow! Richmond hasn’t been the same since she left.
February 20th, 20126:27 am
O.K. for you laggards who didn’t show up early and report yesterday, ‘On your feet. Move out!’
February 20th, 20126:30 am
It’s show time.
My oldest grandson reports today – after school of course, heh!
February 20th, 20126:39 am
It’s way too early to be up when you watch the sliver of moon over the lake turn to the blazing fireball of the sun rise from the distance and erase the view of that moon.
Good morning, folks.
February 20th, 20126:41 am
The players must be excited to be back at Spring Training. Go get’m Braves!

February 20th, 20127:12 am
DOB, I am a morning person and that was just a cool visual of the morning. Alright boys lets get the day going.
February 20th, 20127:15 am
“I’m not a music fan to the level of any of you folks”
I’m Not Either
February 20th, 20127:19 am
What is the itenerary for today…I’m assuming that workouts will start at 9ish…Followed by meet the fans at 2pm, Dinner and the Strip Joint afterwards…?
And I have always wondered this…How many players report to camp? Both MLB and Minor League and the invites?
February 20th, 20127:32 am
“Piano Man? NEVERMIND!!!!”
February 20th, 20127:36 am
Wow, There’s no excuse for Chipper showing up to camp that out of shape. It’s stealing money for his employers.
Chipper, if you’re too lazy or have too little will power to prepare your body please go home and return the money.
February 20th, 20127:57 am
lol, Don’t Rip Hoss, He will lose 15 lbs the next 7 months, Trust me…
February 20th, 20128:00 am
What is giving you any idea that chipper is as you put it way out of shape?
ya aint got to be in shape to hit …….:)
February 20th, 20128:07 am
Ray, look at him, he’s out of shape. There are so many fatties in this country now people can’t even see it. I’m 55 and I’ve never let myself go like that. You tell me he doesn’t have the power to control his condition ? It’s pure laziness and over eatting.
February 20th, 20128:09 am
ncgary, did you just wake up in a new world ? He has a 7 year history of struggling to stay on the field.
February 20th, 20128:14 am
Tomahawkin, your sarcasm is justified. This ain’t exactly a new act. We’ve seen this here movie before. I can’t recall him showing up looking like he’d spent the off-season swilling beer and eating dounuts though. The man is being paid more in a month than many make in a life’s work and he can’t put in an hour a day to maintain condition ?
February 20th, 20128:15 am
ranger you must have missed my smiley face at the end
February 20th, 20128:22 am
Aville, is he chiseled like Heyward, no. Never has been. Is he in game shape ready to go today and play 9 innings, I am guessing not. But I don’t think IMO he is a tub of goo either.
February 20th, 20128:40 am
Also,, I think Chipper knows how to get in game shape. The one aspect that no one has really been able to do honestly is question his integrity in regards to getting ready for the Braves and giving his 100%
February 20th, 20128:43 am
Ray, he IS a tub of goo. I’ve never seen so much lard and loose meat on him before.
February 20th, 20128:45 am
Ray, MANY have questioned his dedication to staying on the field the past 6 years or so.
February 20th, 20128:56 am
AVille, yes I guess when you blow out a knee and can’t walk. You are right, I guess he should have dragged himself on the field. Hey Chipper, get off the operation table and get on the field. Hey Huddy,,, you had your surgery a short bit ago, what do you mean you can’t start throwing at the start of pitchers and catchers. Prado,, staf shmaf infection. Get on the field lazy.
February 20th, 20129:06 am
1 million for Raul Ibanez is a good bargain. Hard to believe they had to unload Burnetts contract to make such a signing. While Raul is coming off his worst season and near the end of his career I’d expect him to put better numbers up as a DH and in that Yankee lineup.
February 20th, 20129:07 am
Aville, you are right. Some people question everything. Doesn’t mean they have a clue. Some on here will only complain no matter what. But I am guessing some of those same people think the world is still flat too.
February 20th, 20129:10 am
From your pictures it looks like Chipper put on a bit of a gut this offseason… Not to say I don’t have one, too…
February 20th, 20129:11 am
Yanks not done, they are looking to add Chavez. VaBrave, the yanks also signed a tidewater boy,, Clay Rapada signed a minor league contract after the O’s released him.
February 20th, 20129:14 am
Chipper is still gonna be a productive player, only question is how much is he gonna play. Chipper has never OPSed under 800. in his career and I think that will continue. I think he’ll hit around 270/350/450 and play atleast 115 games. But I could also see Chipper having a much higher OBP and lower SLG.
February 20th, 20129:21 am
All those hours discussing “P” songs and no one came up with Panama Red by New Riders of the Purple Sage?
February 20th, 20129:27 am
I can’t believe people on here are ripping Chipper because he looks out of shape…I hope that will be motivation for him to Clown this year….
February 20th, 20129:28 am
Hell, I’m 28 and I’m starting to get a Big Boy Gut…
I see the Chipzilla pics have moved from twitter to the webpages of the AJC. The Vent should be entertaining for the next few weeks anyway.
All I ask is that you stay active (which was a problem for the bottom the past 2 years)
Hey now, I was active. Just because I stank doesn’t mean I wasn’t active. Don’t blame your bottom problems on me, buddy.
February 20th, 20129:33 am
The only pictures I’ve seen of Chipper this spring would hardly draw comparisons to Prince Fielder.
February 20th, 20129:38 am
Even the Yankees the fortifying the bench for that monster lineup. I really thought Andruw Jones would have been the perfect fit for us. He completely mashes LHP and I think he could play Center Field for 10 games or so. Bourn is gonna play 150+ games so back up CFer isnt a huge need IMO. Wren really missed the boat on making sure we have good depth behind our starters.
Chipper has missed around 40 games a season since 2004 and is 40 years old.
Prado coming off injury and only playing in 129 games last season. Also had a down year.
Heyward coming off shoulder concerns and major mechanics problems.
Pastornicky the young rookie gets the nod at Shortstop, concerns about defense and if he’s actually ready.
Now there’s 4 crucial everyday players with legit concerns. Just tidbits on the others, We really have to figure Uggla will be better. He still produced a good season (power wise) Freeman entering the sophmore season how will he do? So many good rookie’s seem to struggle or not take a step up in year 2. McCann is coming off a horrible September and a injury and entering the last gaurenteed year of his contract. Michael Bourn added amazing defense and speed on the bases but wasn’t that good in Atlanta only posting a 321. OBP
Our Backups who might be called on to play more than expected.
Matty Diaz, below average defender, has seen his OPS drop over the past few years, has lost his power and is a good singles hitter vs LHP.
Hinske our primary pinch hitter was horrible in that role last season and is also a below average defender. Coming off a bad year overall and only really hits RHP, He struck out almost as much in 2010 with less ABs and hit 197. as a pinch hitter with 27 Strikeouts in 61 ABs
Wilson our backup infielder’s main value is his very good defense and veteran presence in the club house and taking Pastor underneath his wing, But when it comes to hitting you do not want him getting many At bats, just a horrible hitter. Since 2008 he’s owns a 627 OPS
David Ross, actually a bright spot he’s one of the best backups in baseball and is solid all around.
Then we have Constanza and Durango as outfield hopefulls, just a pair of speedy singles hitter who can provide good defense and baserunning. You really don’t want either of them to get any kind of extended playing what so ever.
McFann ;Ô; ;Ô; ;ô;

Workout starts in 10 minutes, after team meeting that’s happening now.
Posted this on wrong blog this morning. Sorry about that:
Sunrise over Lake Bryan on the Dark Star perimeter. Braves’ first workout for pitchers and catchers is at 10 a.m. So big, it ought to be a holiday. Oh, wait….
