Vegas is about 4 hours from us. I’m not much of a gambler either (although I do like Roulette every now and then) but I love just walking and people watching and hanging by the pool and eating (the food is SOOOOO much better now than it used to be). I try to go about once a year- we are headed there in a few weeks for a short vacation to celebrate my birthday
free drinks at the tables means people will stay longer and spend (read: lose) more money. Drinks cost probably less than $2 for the casino, and most tables have a minimum of $5 bets. So regardless, the House will ALWAYS come out on top
Chipper does look out of shape in that photo going around twitter but damn people are acting like he showed up looking like a white Cee Lo Green. He didn’t look fat in any other pics I saw of him from the off season so I’m thinking it’s just a bad angle/wind puffing up his shirt/I’m reaching but still.
Agree with RHR- Chipper is no longer going to look like Jason Heyward- he IS, after all, a 40 year old man. But he has never been in poor shape in his career, and there is no way he’d start slacking off now. Bad angle, whatever. I am not worried about Chipper’s conditioning. After 20 years, he knows what he’s doing
I used to love to play the slots in Vegas and Biloxi when they used the coins and they went “ching, ching, ching” when you won. Now they use tickets and it takes away a lot of the fun and excitement. Also, in Vegas, there is/was an antique auto museum in the basement of one of the real old hotels, and they had some beautiful and amazing cars on display. It was well worth the time. The free or cheap food is always good.
I commented on the 100.3 website that there is a group here following the alphabetup – the DJ asked about the Braves, as she has an aunt who lives in “Murietta”…
Vegas no longer has either “free” or “cheap’ food- well, it has cheap food, but not sure you’d actually want to eat it But the choices of great restaurants and even the buffets that used to get mocked are incredible these days.

Absolutely, cabravesfan. It’s funny… they were more of, “ME”, favorite (not my parents). And yet I remember the names of their songs less than the ones my parents listened to.
DOB: thanks so much for the photos. Like water delivery to a parched Saharan nomad. Really, really appreciated. Your photo cutline writer is doing you no favors, though, spelling Chipper’s son Shay several times. — Choppinmama
Three of them, all corrected in 4-5 minutes when I got up to the pressbox and onto my laptop (filed them from phone). Originals were all deleted with Shay spelling, but once they’re on Twitter and someone retweets, the original could keep getting retweeted. Oh, well. I only wish that were biggest spelling mistake I’d make all spring.
But great of you to notice. No one else was some 10 hours later. Or did you think it hadn’t been fixed and you didn’t see my Tweet minutes after first ones went up, where I made light of my first spelling of Shea’s name?
