Tom: You are right, “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” with that long intro still sounds so good even after all this time. I wish they still made music like that on a regular basis.
VJ, I did videos for weddings, years ago. I remember the bride & groom lipsyncing this with everyone watching. They acted out the entire song. It was very entertaining. Obviously, they had rehearsed it – but no one knew.
saw santana and frampton at an elton john concert of all people i didn’t expect to see them there. i was dreading going til they came out and opened with the star bangled banner hendrix version right after the dean dome opened in chapel hill. actually the whole concert rocked pretty good, even though im not a big elton fan
Thanks for thinking of us! That is hilarious because I was gonna post on here—we were at Target tonight and found those! Sorry to spoil your post… But they are yummy!
It’s a gift. Also- it helps when A) I don’t read what I type before I post it AND B) forget that I included “does” in the first post and basically post the exact same thing 2 posts later…
cabravesfan, as I told, VJ, a few days back – many of the artists that this station is playing, I grew up listening to (”right in my power alley”). When I grew up, everything was MUSIC in my home.
That’s why you’ll hear me say that I don’t watch that much TV. I wasn’t exposed to a lot of it as I was growing up. And I have NO complaints.
DOB: thanks so much for the photos. Like water delivery to a parched Saharan nomad. Really, really appreciated. Your photo cutline writer is doing you no favors, though, spelling Chipper’s son Shay several times.
Good girl, young lady. First, she’s trying to get you to go to Vegas. Now, she’s trying to turn you into a drinker. She can be evil, I tell you, evil!!!
cake flavored vodka is FANTASTIC for those that are of the adult beverage inclined (mixed with pineapple juice, it tastes exactly like pineapple cake- is amazing)
Well, I’ve done things in Vegas that don’t involve drinking…of course, I was drinking at the time I was doing them… (Have you even ever been to Vegas??)
Yes, M’LAdy. I took an extensive trip across the county, in a van, several years ago. Most of the time we spent, besides driving, was in CA. Then, we spent 4 days & 3 nights in Las Vegas.
Damn, Chipper looks a little out of shape. I expected another “best shape of my career” lines, but I don’t think he could say it with a straight face. Hopefully he’ll drop a few during spring.
The “Walking Dead was good again, but man they all need to leave the farm. I feel like they are Castaways on an Island, but they are on the farm. otherwise “Waliking Dead is still good.
I almost made it to Vegas (close to you, right?) about 3 years ago. I’m not much of a gambler, because I feel it’s a stupid waste of money, but I had a “feeling” about the Rays. My friend works at the, “Hard Rock Cafe”, so I sent him out some money to place on them before the season started.
I put $100 on them winning the world series, at 100 to 1 odds. By the end of the baseball season, every friend I knew was rooting for the Rays.
In order to collect the $10,000.00, I had to be there in person. If I had won, My best friend & wife were going to accompany me, if I did win. I told them not to bring any money, except to gamble with. I was going to take care of the rest.
Damn those Phillies. But it was an exciting year, nevertheless. Just being in the hunt, all year, made it special. (I have the Hard Rock Cafe ticket stub saved, on my computer, if anyone thinks I’m making this up)
That was the first time I made a bet like that, and, so far, the last.
