Everyone knows players are gonna break down, but regardless someone will always be willing to give the mega deal because they know the elite players gives them a great chance to win for a few years. Once 1 team is willing to offer 7+ years more teams join in. Crazy how people that control the money you’d figure every team would hold tight and say we’ll offer you a contract til your 35 years old and thats its. lol

A Swedish man has survived being trapped in his snow-covered car for two months without food, police say.

The car was found on Friday at the end of a forest track more than 1 km (0.6 miles) from a main road in northern Sweden.

Police say the temperature in the area had recently dropped to -30C (-22F).

Why don’t team do that? Say there is a 30 year old superstar and he’s a free agent. What would happen if all the teams would not go past 5 years? The player won’t sit out… lol Teams need to buckle down on contracts.

If Braves/Rays made it.. the problem with that series is all of those complaints about mid level payrolls and how Braves are cheap etc would not hold as much water. Oh wait what am I thinking, they would complain about 2013.

Va, if that happened, the players assoc would start spouting out collusion. A better structured contract is to have more on the front part and less on the back end. The problem with that is they would rather pay on the back end because its in the future.

Yeah its crazy aint it? If I’m a GM I really don’t wanna pay this superstar crazy money in his 36-40 years… There is just so much competition for high class free agents the only way to sign them is to make the deal longer than someone else.

Chipper Jones signed a 6 year 90 mil deal in 2000, If he was 28 and coming off a MVP year today he’d get a prolly get a 10 year deal around 20 mil a season its just crazy.

Teams generally would rather pay towards the backend than the other way around. The one thing you don’t see too often is a long term deal working out for the team.

If Medlen does go into the rotation to take Hudson’s starts at the beginning of the year, I’d say it’s pretty much a lock that Cristhian Martinez is the long releiver again.

VJ, it’s funny – as much as my father was into music and influenced me, it’s my mother’s favorites that have me guessing correctly a lot of the times.
She liked groups such as; The Beatle (& their spinoffs), CSN (& Young), Fleetwood Mac, Stones, 3 Dog Night, etc.

I’m leaving out many, but you get the idea. This station has played many of those groups during their countdown.

I like our other options more for the rotation and all this talk of Delgado or Teheran being in the pen really makes no sense. We have so many bullpen options and already have Vizciano in the pen. Why do we want to put all the high promising talents in the pen.

I don’t think it should be an option is all. If they want them on the big league roster so bad they should have traded Jurrjens to open a spot. You don’t want another young top prospect sitting in the pen when they can be working on there game in AAA. We have so many bullpen options as it is without Delgado and Teheran as options. Also there actually gonna let Minor compete for the 5th spot in the rotation? So I guess were gonna send a 24 year old who spent time in the majors 2 years in a row back to AAA, but during trade talk we act as if they guy is so great? Confusing Confusing Confusing.

Mike Minor has spent time with the big club 2 years in a row and is 24 years old. He should be locked into the rotation. This is the guy we refused to trade and think so highly of. There is just no way you send him to back to the minors. When Huddy is healthy the rotation should be Hanson, Jurrjens, Beachy, Minor, Hudson. Delgado and Teheran should be in AAA working on there game.
