Matt Kemp signed an extension … didn’t he? I think we can remove him from our wish list of FAs.

I-75 WS…Summer in Nov…
Everyone knows players are gonna break down, but regardless someone will always be willing to give the mega deal because they know the elite players gives them a great chance to win for a few years. Once 1 team is willing to offer 7+ years more teams join in. Crazy how people that control the money you’d figure every team would hold tight and say we’ll offer you a contract til your 35 years old and thats its. lol

A Swedish man has survived being trapped in his snow-covered car for two months without food, police say.
The car was found on Friday at the end of a forest track more than 1 km (0.6 miles) from a main road in northern Sweden.
Police say the temperature in the area had recently dropped to -30C (-22F).
February 19th, 20125:03 pm
Why don’t team do that? Say there is a 30 year old superstar and he’s a free agent. What would happen if all the teams would not go past 5 years? The player won’t sit out… lol Teams need to buckle down on contracts.
February 19th, 20125:04 pm
If Braves/Rays made it.. the problem with that series is all of those complaints about mid level payrolls and how Braves are cheap etc would not hold as much water. Oh wait what am I thinking, they would complain about 2013.
February 19th, 20125:08 pm
JerseyGil—- Bobby Cox will be managing future Braves on April 3 at Coolray Field in Gwinnett Co., Ga. I noticed you said @ The Ted.
February 19th, 20125:10 pm
Va, if that happened, the players assoc would start spouting out collusion. A better structured contract is to have more on the front part and less on the back end. The problem with that is they would rather pay on the back end because its in the future.
February 19th, 20125:11 pm
Bill m..your are correct….anyway i will be there at Gwinnett
February 19th, 20125:13 pm
Jurrjens, Hudson go from worried to optimistic in 2-1/2 months
Yeah its crazy aint it? If I’m a GM I really don’t wanna pay this superstar crazy money in his 36-40 years… There is just so much competition for high class free agents the only way to sign them is to make the deal longer than someone else.
February 19th, 20125:16 pm
Chipper Jones signed a 6 year 90 mil deal in 2000, If he was 28 and coming off a MVP year today he’d get a prolly get a 10 year deal around 20 mil a season its just crazy.
February 19th, 20125:17 pm
Studio 42 w/ Bob Costas- Hank Aaron is on now on MLB Network… it’s from 2010 but a good interview even though it’s not new.
February 19th, 20125:26 pm
thanks for the updates Chief! I have been looking forward to this since the season ended! Go Braves!!
February 19th, 20125:28 pm
DOB…Thanks for the Interview of Huddy/JJ
If the Braves has a good April without Huddy…watch out the rest of the Season.
February 19th, 20125:29 pm
Teams generally would rather pay towards the backend than the other way around. The one thing you don’t see too often is a long term deal working out for the team.

If Medlen does go into the rotation to take Hudson’s starts at the beginning of the year, I’d say it’s pretty much a lock that Cristhian Martinez is the long releiver again.
February 19th, 20126:34 pm
i’m not freddie , but i figure minor and medlin get the 4 and 5 spots to start the season unless they have turrrible springs

it is MEDLEN people when will people finally understand!
February 19th, 20126:56 pm
February 19th, 20126:57 pm
ya don’t have to have a hissy over bad grammar
February 19th, 20126:59 pm
bravofan – So you’re saying that I should capitalize MEDLEN?
February 19th, 20127:01 pm
I mean, EN and IN do sound remarkably similar. It’s not like people are spelling it with a silent Q
February 19th, 20127:03 pm
ncgary: yes I do I dislike when people spell a players name wrong constantly.
Lew: yes so people get the extra emphasis and can see how to spell it.
Jeffrey d: agreed
Sorry everyone just would like for people to know how to spell it.
Anyone wanna spell the new shortstops last name first name Tyler?
Do you use that rationale in dealing out partial credit for math answers that are close?
February 19th, 20127:04 pm
Well, Holy Crap, Batman! With all the comments about a spelling correction of Medlen, I’m betting that cabravesfan is happy it wasn’t her. Hi, LAdy!
(And I have been trying to get folks to spell Medlen’s name correctly for 2 years…no luck yet )
February 19th, 20127:05 pm
February 19th, 20127:06 pm
cabravesfan: you win the spelling bee!!
I will continue to fight on with people spelling Medlen.
February 19th, 20127:07 pm
Just about the only things I can properly spell are the player’s names…everything else, well, that’s what autocorrect is for
February 19th, 20127:11 pm
Perhaps y’all could start off with something easier. How about, Bourn(e)?
February 19th, 20127:12 pm

VJ, it’s funny – as much as my father was into music and influenced me, it’s my mother’s favorites that have me guessing correctly a lot of the times.
She liked groups such as; The Beatle (& their spinoffs), CSN (& Young), Fleetwood Mac, Stones, 3 Dog Night, etc.
I’m leaving out many, but you get the idea. This station has played many of those groups during their countdown.
February 19th, 20127:21 pm

Co-Sign, C-Mart will be the Long man, We all Trust C-Mart…I think he was the most underated reliever last year on the team
My mother’s music would help if there was a bit more Sinatra…
February 19th, 20127:23 pm
@Tom O Hawke
How Ironic is that You mention Fleetwood Mac, I have them “On Deck” as well as the Eagles…
February 19th, 20127:24 pm
I, probably, should start working out the last 2 fingers on my left hand. I missed a “q” on Friday, an “a” last night, and now an “s”. Pretty soon it’ll be “d-c-e”, and then I’ll be misspelling Medlen.
February 19th, 20127:25 pm
I was going to ask you which Beatle she liked
February 19th, 20127:26 pm
How ironic you mentioned, “The Eagles”, T-Hawkin. While I was making that list, I couldn’t think of one of my mom’s favorites. It was the Eagles.
February 19th, 20127:28 pm
Is it wrong that the Yuck makes me feel better, since it comes from the person who does not appreciate my old Long Island neighbor’s song about a large musical instrument?
February 19th, 20127:32 pm
Medlen shouldn’t be starting games with so many other options. I much rather see Teheran or Delgado starting. I also think it would be pretty stupid to have either Teheran or Delgado in the pen.
February 19th, 20127:33 pm
The Eagles is Some Good Shyt.., They Have a Concert here in Alpharetta here in a Few months..I wanna Go but its too expensive….

Medlen shouldn’t be starting games with so many other options.
Come On Man, Little Big Man MED’s Has Heart! The Braves were 12-3 in his starts in 2010…And The Best part about Med’s is that the League Doesn’t know anything about him…The Dude Shut down the Nasty Phillies offense in 2010 at CBP…
February 19th, 20127:42 pm
I could be misremembering, T-Hawkin, but I believe Meds was 13-1, in his starts in 2010.
February 19th, 20127:43 pm
I like our other options more for the rotation and all this talk of Delgado or Teheran being in the pen really makes no sense. We have so many bullpen options and already have Vizciano in the pen. Why do we want to put all the high promising talents in the pen.
February 19th, 20127:47 pm
Who says we are, VaBravesFan? It’s just another option. A lot can happen between now & opening day.
February 19th, 20127:50 pm
Tom – when I was walking Nala yesterday morning, Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone was playing – I had a commercial break to figure out the next “like” song, but came up with nothing. Turned out to be the Rolling Stones’ cover of the same song…
February 19th, 20127:51 pm
VJ, I might be happier when they’re out of the “O’s”. But I do have one from the ‘Stones. “Out of Time”.
I don’t think it should be an option is all. If they want them on the big league roster so bad they should have traded Jurrjens to open a spot. You don’t want another young top prospect sitting in the pen when they can be working on there game in AAA. We have so many bullpen options as it is without Delgado and Teheran as options. Also there actually gonna let Minor compete for the 5th spot in the rotation? So I guess were gonna send a 24 year old who spent time in the majors 2 years in a row back to AAA, but during trade talk we act as if they guy is so great? Confusing Confusing Confusing.
February 19th, 20127:53 pm
Crap!!! I blew a Fleetwood Mac song.
Somehow I got Out n the Streets after she said Bruce was up next…
Hello everyone! Medlen should stay in bull-pen,because we need that 3 to 4 inning relief guy. He is very dependable, and will take a lot of innings off Kimbrel, and Venters.Save us a lot of arms.
February 19th, 20127:55 pm
“Walking Dead”, is on,and new episode. Watched “Spartacus”,and it’s getting better, and better to.
February 19th, 20127:56 pm
Don’t get too excited about it until it happens. But keeping O’Ventbrel from getting too much work is a major concern for the Braves, this year. Making sure those young guys get some work is an even BIGGER concern, I’m sure.
Relax, at least for now.
I still think JERMEY LIN should play PG opps I mean SS for us this year.
February 19th, 20127:57 pm
I’m watching last week’s episode of Ax Men, then Im watching new Walking Dead. I’m just gonna have to be a week behind on Ax Men. lol

Ooooh, I’ve got one more in the “O’s” (after my last failure).
Oye Como Va, by Santana (that’s a dad-group)
February 19th, 20128:05 pm
I heard them earlier on No One to Depend On…
I was hoping for Judy Garland with an “Over” song…
VJ, you do realize if this station did this kind of countdown, every week, cabravesfan, Efrim & nolie would always be in our dust.
February 19th, 20128:06 pm
I’m sure I could find some way to make it all up
February 19th, 20128:07 pm
All be cool talk later, and peace…….
Braves notes: Moylan progressing in rehab, won’t rush return; Cox sighting; 1st workout Monday
February 19th, 20128:08 pm
Mike Minor has spent time with the big club 2 years in a row and is 24 years old. He should be locked into the rotation. This is the guy we refused to trade and think so highly of. There is just no way you send him to back to the minors. When Huddy is healthy the rotation should be Hanson, Jurrjens, Beachy, Minor, Hudson. Delgado and Teheran should be in AAA working on there game.
February 19th, 20128:09 pm
I will be cool, Ward.
You’re probably right, cabravesfan. I’ve been here long enough to have seen your potential, and learned to respect it.
Tom – do you really think I have a shot against someone who posts 15 consecutive times while I’m cooking hamburgers (not a lengthy process)…

February 19th, 20128:16 pm
My good china is still in storage in Smyrna…
So you eat on the bad china?
February 19th, 20128:18 pm
We actually eat on nice stoneware dishes from Poland that have been part of dinners in my family for 30 years
Good call on Oye…

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
What the Phillies tried to do last week, sources said today, was trade Joe Blanton for Bobby Abreu, then flip Abreu for Burnett.
February 19th, 20128:21 pm
Thanks, VJ, almost blew it. I’d hate to miss a Santana song.
So, P is next. PA? If they’d play a Temptations’ song, I’d say Papa was a Rolling Stone.
