Bay Area Steve, I just got tired of all the disciples of doom and gloom, so I wrote it so they could read facts instead of them embracing the collapse of 2011 and wraping themselves in it for the 2012 season.
We could just have been the Cardinals and gotten red hot at the end of the season and win the World Series just as they did. But, instead we had injuries and went cold instead.
The margin between winning and losing is a fine line when teams are close in talent.

Man I was just looking at how Hanson pitched when he got called up, his delivery was so much better than what it was last year. He threw faster, and was quicker to the plate, what happened?

The Walking Dead got off to a strong start and it will be interesting to see which direction it takes us. It appeared to me that by the look on Herschel’s face at the end, he has renewed respect for Rick.

Good Morning Everyone, Walking Dead was awesome last night! Just sitting here having a few cups of coffee. Can’t go to work cause it so cold, only like 27 right now. I do masonry so it has to be above freezing and atleast 40 and rising most of the time..

ha, glad you qualified that, VaBravesFan. My first thought was “27??” and then I recalled Dana Carvey’s Jimmy Stewart imitation (”Wussy. Little Girl”). I try not to think of Dana Carvey (ever!), but that was a funny skit.

Walking Dead was pretty good. Time to cut Shane loose, though.

Lew, I willing to bear that burden. I am sure the townfolk will soon be out with their Torches and Pitchforks.
I certainly understand the naysayers be down after the end of 2011, but the talent is still their and the young guns, Pitching and Hitting , are 1 year older and wiser.
So, they can just call me the Blind Kool Aid Drinker.

Lew: The Allman Brothers Band were supposed to be at the Grammy’s last night, but there was just a brief picture and acknowledgement of their lifetime achievement award.
I thought this was interesting: 3 of the 5 nominees for Blues Album of the Year were from the Allman’s:
Tedeschi Trucks Band: Revelator (Winner)
Gregg Allman: Low Country Blues
Warren Haynes: The Reflection

Slowly watching the movies from your top 20 list the last few weeks. I really liked 50-50, Warrior,Bridesmaids, Moneyball. Drive was a different story, that movie was average at best. I looked up the reviews on it and most people agreed with me. What was it that you liked so much about it? So far 4 out of 5 aint bad and at $1.20 a pop at Redbox I can’t complain

Watched the Walking Dead last night. Unpredictable would be an understatement. You just never know what the writers of this show will drop on us next.

Back to baseball, Tommy’s revamped delivery is great news. Not only will he be quicker to the plate, I believe his velocity will benefit from the positive drive added by utilizing his legs.

Fifty-six players are on the spring training docket so far and there will be more, so sixty plus athletes makes for a busy grape fruit league for our Braves.

THawkin – Nady sucks. He is shot and didn’t even have an OBP over .300 last year and barely the year before.

Ordonez also is about shot and barely had a .300 OBP last year.

Manny hasn’t even played for a year or so and has to serve a 50 game suspension IF he comes back.

Vlad? Maybe, but you seriously believe they can sign him for a mil or two? I’m not seeing it and he hasn’t hit against NL pitching for quite a few years now.

Manny, Nady, Vlad… all equally useless. Even if they were replacing another useless player in Diaz, still probably not much of an upgrade.

That surprised me when you said that about Drive reviews, since I thought it was a terrific movie. So just now I looked it up on the Rotten Tomatoes website, which compiles reviews from most major outlets around the country. Sure enough, Drive had 93 percent positive reviews, making it one of the highest-rated major releases of the year. Not sure which reviews you were looking at beekay, but here’s the site if you’d like a look at any of the 223 reviews they compiled on Drive or any other movie.

THawkin – Nady hasn’t had a decent season since 08 and has made a career on having two decent years out of a ten year career. Never have figured what the attraction for the Dude has been.. He’s been injured for quite some time and has put up decreasing numbers for three years now. Not a good fielder, has a weak arm and like DAP said – his numbers for the past two years are pretty bad.

So the rebuilding A’s sign Cespedes? Another outfielder?

That makes their current outfield to be Seth Smith, Coco Crisp, Josh Reddick, Collin Cowgill, Michael Taylor, Johnny Gomes and the newly signed Cespedes. I’m sure Gomes will DH quite a bit, but that’s a serious logjam with Taylor and Reddick really needing major league at bats to show if they can stick there.
