I’ll keep them away from you
McFann O O o
February 12th, 20122:27 pm
February 12th, 20122:57 pm
You’re trying to talk McFann into going to Vegas?
I think you’d have a better shot convincing the Rev. Al Sharpton to join the KKK.
February 12th, 20123:06 pm
Just hearing about Braves and spring training gets me excited i hate winter and the cold air ready for April and warmth .
February 12th, 20123:07 pm
oh mcfann will be there we just have to explain the correct incentives
or identify them
February 12th, 20123:16 pm
I suppose so, tiger. Maybe you could tell her that McCann is singing at Ceasar’s Palace.
Oooooh…You’ve got a way with words, my friend…
Eric from MO
Tomahawkin-I love watching The old Whitney Videos…Beyonce can’t top old Whitney….
Thats only because you grew up listening to her. I was kind of a betweener for generations on Whitney and Beyonce. Caught Whitney towards the end when she was in and out of rehab and too old to like Beyonce. Personally I think they both suck, but whatever.
February 12th, 20123:18 pm
Oh, it will happen!
February 12th, 20123:19 pm
She’d totally go if we took her to Red Rock!
Tom O’Hawke Maybe you could tell her that McCann is singing at Ceasar’s Palace.
Uuuuuumm…now, I’ve never heard BMac sing, but if someone could get him to do so up on a big stage like that…that might be a good trick in itself…
Caesar’s Palace…That’s where the Partridge Family made their debut!…
February 12th, 20123:25 pm
Can B-Mac sing? I know he can eat
February 12th, 20123:27 pm
Very funny, fella!…
February 12th, 20123:28 pm
When McFann finally builds her doghouse, I think I know who the first guest will be.
Is there an actual word for someone who’s allergic? Like a medical term or something? Not hypochondriac, obviously, but something along those lines…?
February 12th, 20123:30 pm
Haha! Nah, he might be second or third…I think there are a couple other folks who are slightly ahead…
February 12th, 20123:34 pm
I thought you’d handle those folks after nolie teaches you how to shoot.
February 12th, 20123:42 pm
Ha! Nah, I’m not out to kill anybody…just show ‘em who’s boss…
February 12th, 20123:47 pm
I’ll pay for the shooting lessons and buy the ammo, McFann. At least think about it.
You know you want to. (I do…)
February 12th, 20123:56 pm
happy days are here again
February 12th, 20124:18 pm
Why are we talking baseball …. the Thrashers season isn’t over yet.
Uh … oops! …………….sorry!
February 12th, 20124:19 pm
Maybe I could just use my Brother’s BB gun…
February 12th, 20124:26 pm
FYI, here’s an attractive blogger singing a little ditty
February 12th, 20124:30 pm
Ya know… I think you’ve got something there, McFann. Big, bothersome blog idiots get a BB to the butt.
I like it!!!
February 12th, 20124:31 pm
What happened to your hair, jeffrey?
February 12th, 20124:35 pm
I chopped it off…….last June
February 12th, 20124:37 pm
I noticed you all had beards, jeffrey. Reminds me of ZZ Top – the early years.
February 12th, 20124:38 pm
Projected 25 man roster
CF L Bourn
RF L Heyward
3B S Chipper
2B R Uggla
C L McCann
1B L Freeman
LF R Prado
SS R Pastornicky
C R Ross
1B L Hinske
SS R Wilson
OF R Diaz
OF L Constanza
1. R Hanson
2. R Jurrjens
3. R Hudson
4. R Beachy
5. R Minor
CP R Kimbrel
SU L Venters
RP L EOF
RP R Medlen
RP R Martinez
RP R Vizciano
RP R Varvaro
We have to figure Delgado or Teheran will be in the rotation to start the season if Hudson needs a few more weeks off. Then we have alot of bullpen depth, with Acensio, Fish, Moylan in the mix and not knowing if the Braves want Vizciano in AAA starting. The last bench spot will be between Constanza and Durango. Depending on how much they want a player capable of playing Centerfield on the bench. Bourn will play 150+ games so the need isn’t too great. Drew Sutton could be in the mix as a extra infielder as well.
February 12th, 20124:39 pm
Tom – Dean (the lead singer) introduced us as “White Guys With Facial Hair”
February 12th, 20124:40 pm
L Minor?? I bet that sounds wicked
February 12th, 20124:47 pm
Ha! As we were discussing your band, when I saw L Minor, my first thought was, ‘what the hell key is that’?
It’s 4 whole steps up from G
February 12th, 20124:51 pm
Anyway, during that show our drummer had a few too many. Luckily, so did the crowd, so they loved him
February 12th, 20124:54 pm
It’s always good when everyone is in perfect sync.
February 12th, 20124:58 pm
Also in sync was our camera guy. Let’s just say that there were a few songs towards the end that were a little wild
February 12th, 20125:08 pm
Nice one, jeffrey…
February 12th, 20125:09 pm
I think we’re definitely on to something!…
February 12th, 20125:10 pm
Once I finish with a few more household chores, I’ll probably get in sync myself.
You mean my video or my killing the blog?
February 12th, 20125:12 pm
Your killing the Blog…but I’ll check out the video, too…
February 12th, 20125:13 pm
Tom – I’ve got my own in sync fan…you can see her in a couple of the videos. We played at her restaurant a few months ago and me and the drummer stayed for karaoke….me and her sang “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and since, she’s shown up at our shows
Yeah, McFann. We can add that to, Soph’s, bricks for sale post, when an “irritable” comes on board.
“Get the BB gun out”!
February 12th, 20125:15 pm
McFann – it was only 10 minutes! And the masses were probably just weeping over the wonderful vocals of the video I posted
I’m just chillin watchin The Walking Dead, can’t wait for the new episode tonight. Moms making a big pot of homemade shrimp chowder and chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple for dessert.
February 12th, 20125:16 pm
jeffrey, I think you pointed her out on one of your other videos. It was recently, if I’m not misremembering.
February 12th, 20125:21 pm
Tom – she kissed me on the cheek and said she loved our Zeppelin cover (we didn’t play any Zeppelin). It was kind of sweet
February 12th, 20125:23 pm
That’s all fine, jeffrey, as long as she’s not related to John Hinckley.
February 12th, 20125:25 pm
Sounds like a plan…
she kissed me on the cheek and said she loved our Zeppelin cover (we didn’t play any Zeppelin). It was kind of sweet
I hope not. I left her with the romantic “I’ll see you in April” line
February 12th, 20125:31 pm
Yeah, good video! That music at the end rocks…
February 12th, 20125:33 pm
she wasn”t on the grassy nolie was she
oj sorry that was knoll
February 12th, 20125:38 pm
headline in mannyville,
manny mad as all get out
braves don’t add any power hitters for the outfield
February 12th, 20125:43 pm
I never liked the music at the end, but I was outvoted 3-1
February 12th, 20125:53 pm
Oops, sorry… I mean, the song’s fine without it, too…
February 12th, 20125:55 pm
I like music at the end too
February 12th, 20126:12 pm
what happened to the blog
did icarus fly too close to the acropolis?
wax and feathers melting the keyboards
they are hot in greece and the burners don’t turn on til next week.
when it all comes due
will the world turn blue
February 12th, 20126:22 pm
Just realized that the Grammy pre-show (where they give out most of the awards) is streaming – DOB’s guy Steve Earle just performed a song…
Orange Brave f/k/a Billy Jack's BBQ
DOB, thanks for the update on Hudson. May work to the Brave’s advantage to bring him along slowly as it will give some of the younger guys more “innings” to pitch in Spring Training. Good chance that we open the season with two of the three (Minor, Delgado, or Tehran) on the staff and then further eliminate someone when Huddy is back.
February 12th, 20126:26 pm
Levon Helm just won a Grammy for Best Americana Album “Ramble at the Ryman”.
Great artist (drummer for The Band plus solo work) and actor, he beat cancer about 10 years ago.
February 12th, 20126:28 pm
Why is Paris Hilton at the Grammys??
Apparently censoring not necessary for the pre-show – Foo Fighters dropping several choice phrases…
February 12th, 20126:29 pm
February 12th, 20126:30 pm
I should have phrased that better: Why did the Grammys INVITE Paris Hilton??
February 12th, 20126:34 pm
To “please” all of the nominees? Sorry, I don’t like her at all.
February 12th, 20126:35 pm
why are you sorry?
DOB’s link to Marvin Gaye doing the National Anthem, reminded me of the precursor of singing it in their own style.
This is a short clip of Jose Feliciano discussing it.
This is the actual audio from 1968, before the Cardinals/Tigers world series.
February 12th, 20126:36 pm
And if you like far-out renditions of the Anthem, no one did it any more far-out than Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, 1969. He even reenacted battle scenes on his guitar.
This crowd was very receptive of his effort. Of course, as jeffrey & I discussed earlier, it helps if the crowd is in sync. This may be one of the most in sync crowds in musical history.
I thought maybe you liked her and I didn’t want to offend you. It’s too cold to sleep in the dog house tonight.
February 12th, 20126:38 pm
Not even a little. I was just surprised to see her, considering she has not even been relevant in the world of fake stars in years…
February 12th, 20126:40 pm
Great round by Phil Mickelson today – 6 strokes off the lead when the day started, 2 stroke victory…
February 12th, 20126:41 pm
cab: “she has not even been relevant in the world of fake stars in years”. Thank goodness. (I need to learn how to do italics)
February 12th, 20126:42 pm
Unfortunately, I have the feeling she is like cockroaches and twinkies- long after the apocalypse, she will be roaming the earth, looking for someone to pay attention to her…
February 12th, 20126:48 pm
(w/o spaces) before what you want to italicize
(again, w/o spaces) after
February 12th, 20126:49 pm
cab: Funny stuff! I can think of a few to add to her “posse”. Maybe Newt can send them to the moon.
I hope you understand that, now.
February 12th, 20126:50 pm
February 12th, 20126:51 pm
Someone has to teach me how to get lesser than & greater than on the board, without disappearing. Then I can explain italicizing to ken.
February 12th, 20126:55 pm
February 12th, 20126:56 pm
put a lower case i in between the <> to start the italics, then put a / and a lower case i in between them to end the italics
February 12th, 20126:58 pm
OK, now put the “i” in the middle. I spaced it out, thinking that would work.
hmmm (test) before what you want italicized & after
With NO periods! I can’t wait to see what this looks like.
February 12th, 20127:00 pm
I can put an arsenal of stuff up there, but those little buggers keep disappearing.
I plead my case to the jury your honor. I need a ruling.
I come here everyday and I hear my team, the Braves, have almost no chance at making the playoffs.
I see the best catcher in baseball in Brian McCann
I see the runner-up in the Rookie of the year for 2011 in Freedie Freeman
I see the only 2nd Baseman in the history of major lead baseball to hit 30 or more home runs in a season for 5 straight seasons in Dan Uggla and even though he isn’t the top notch fielder I would like, well I remember how bad our former 2nd baseman, Kelly Johnson was! I think that is where I got a nervous twitch, until he was released.
I see a young SS( his name is Tyler) that is said to average on defense, but can steal bases, bunt, hustles, has a great attitude, can move runners over and strikes out very seldom and usually puts the ball in play. Judge, you say my twitch is back. Sorry, I thought I heard someone say how great and neccessary Alex Gonzalez was?
I see a 40 year old Hall of Fame 3B in Chipper Jones, that although he is not what he once was, he was in the top 4 OPS last year in the National League. He has lost a step on defense, but we have a All Star former 2nd baseman(in 2010) that is so versatile that he can give him rest to keep him fresh.
Speaking of that former All Star 2nd Baseman Martin Prado, he was moved to LF(Is there any place he can’t play)
Did I tell you about the CFer we got in a one sided trade last year MIchael Bourn? He has lead all of baseball in stolen bases over the last 3 years and is a Gold Glove Fielder and very good leadoff hitter.
Our RFer , Jason Heyward was the runner-up to the Rookie of the year in 2010 and made the All Star Roster, he is a possible Gold Glove fielder when he gets more mature and a a potential cleanup hitter,Oh I forgot he is only 22 years old like the 1st baseman and the SS.
The pitching staff is anchored by a mid thirty year old, Tim Hudson, that is the very type of guy to teach and lead all the young pitchers and has been an All Star numerous times. The other top pitchers consist of a pitcher, Jair Jurjjens, that was an All Star last year and had the lowest ERA of any starting pitcher in baseball at the time of the All Star Game. He has had injury problems the last two seasons, but he is REALLY good when healthy. He is 25 years old along with the other “OLDER” starting Pitcher, Tommy Hanson, who also is really great when healthy. To round out the starting Rotation is a pitcher, Brandon Beachy, who got Rookie of the year votes and set a franchise record for a rookie pitcher with more strikeouts than any other Rookie Braves pitcher. THe 5th spot will go to one of 4 pitchers, Mike Minor, Julio Teheran, Arrodys Vizcaino and A guy named Delgado who are all highly regarded in and outside of the Braves Organization.
Last but not least is the Bullpen, which is considered by the majority of scribes and experts as the best in baseball.
I admit your Honor, the bench is a little weak. But, we do have the best backup catcher in baseball, a normally top notch LHed pinch Hitter, a Great fielding utility guy that plays 2nd, SS and 3B and one of the OFers will be good defensively with lots of speed. The worst player is a guy who normally tears up Lhed pitching and I am a little worried about him.
I need a ruling your honor. I see a World Series contender, but many others see a fourth place finish in the Braves division.
I await your verdict your honor for you are impartial, fair and Honorable. By the way, if its not out of order, where are you from your honor
PHILADELPHIA? Nevermind, even the blog nutcases are less deluded than Philiies fans!
Thanks for the work DOB
February 12th, 20127:01 pm
Not that hard <> <> <>
February 12th, 20127:02 pm
I think what my point was, kenhotlanta, that if an idiot like me can learn…
…then ANYONE can!
February 12th, 20127:07 pm
Do it with an “i”, cabravesfan.
February 12th, 20127:08 pm
i rule its almost time for pitchers and catchers to report
this case carried over to october
decision to be made in october
Hey, I should get credit for being able to get the brackets to show up!
February 12th, 20127:12 pm
I’ll give you that, cabravesfan. I even tried it with a freakin’ “z” in between. I was gonna say to substitute the “z” with an “i”. But that disappeared too.
February 12th, 20127:13 pm
It’s because it is code. Anything that gets put between the <> that is related to coding (i.e. the i for italics) will disappear automatically.
February 12th, 20127:14 pm
I’m actually surprised I got the brackets to show up
February 12th, 20127:18 pm
Usually not a big fan of watching the Grammy Awards, but I am actually looking forward to seeing Springsteen and believe it or not…Adele. The girl has an amazing voice.
I remember when I first learned how to do that. McFann gave me the link while nolie was giving me instructions. One of the things I read was that you could turn it off. However, I’m too lazy to look that up, right now (or, probably, anytime).
February 12th, 20127:19 pm
I like watching the Grammys. It would be even better if I could watch the Grammys without knowing who won first
February 12th, 20127:20 pm
