I like to picture nolie and Lew in their favorite green leather chairs, worn from decades of use, snoozing away while Wheel of Fortune plays ridiculously loud in the background on their 13″ black and white TV. A half-eaten salisbury steak dinner sits on the TV tray next to them and they have their alarms set to wake them up for the Matlock reruns at 7.

Heh! Everything’s spot on except the tv. They’ve got the new digital version 42″ flat screens wall mounted. The ones that allow the government to look into your viewing tastes and see exactly where you are, and where you’ve been.

Funny, but seriously, the last tv series I watched religiously before ‘PORN STARS’ and ‘AMERICAN PICKERS’ was the ‘ROCKFORD FILES’. Now it’s ‘MASTERPIECE THEATER.’ Only my wife’s got religion regarding ‘THE WHEEL.”

-I forgot Fab 5 Freddie led the team in batting average despite being a rookie
-Braves were 28-14 in Rossy’s starts, and 9-5 with Huddy on the hill
-Puzzling…BB only had 7 wins in 25 starts because his run support was Garbage, not to mention BB always seem to have 1 inning where it was known as “Implosion Time”
-Lowe failed to go 6innings in 7 out of 14 starts in the 2nd half, and lost his last 5 starts
-B-Macc .180, 16 rbis in his final 37 games, that damn Oblique injury killed him when he was on pace for a “Career Year”

Ugg, had a tough season. He worked hard, and showed leadership. This may be a tremendous year for him. If he starts off hot, it could be ugly for opposing pitchers throughout the season. He is the type of player that can carry a team for a couple of weeks.

The Magazine Mentions that
“Fredi, enters the season determined not to over use the back end of the bullpen as he admittedly did in the first half of 2011. The Braves lack of offense and propensity for extra inning games didn’t make it any easier”
If Fredi doesn’t make the playoffs this year, he will be on the hot seat
-Also Mentions that with any team employed running game…The Pastor is capable of stealing 20 bases and they like his grit…

Pawn Stars is staged, I think. I just love how they can always “call my expert buddy down here” whenever they want. These experts can leave their jobs whenever they want to help out some guys at a pawn shop? Another suspicious thing is how a customer walks up to them with something and the shop is almost always empty or near empty. I think most of those customers are paid actors as well as the “experts”.

I have talked about the kid playing ss and I do believe fans are going to love this kid with his speed and his hunger and down right hustle on everything. The only thing I hope (guessing it will though) is when Pastor struggles a little over a weekend in ST the naysayers will say see I told you so. The kid has no skills, etc.

-The Braves Played 26 Extra inning games last year, one shy of the 1943 Braves (27), OUCH
-The Braves Bullpen pitched 54 Extra Inning Innings last year…The equilivalent of 6 extra Games, Double OUCH!!!
I’m not a Stat Geek, but these stats are really indicative and can better describe why the Bricks fell, during the collapse….

I like Constanza because of his speed, but I wouldn’t take that to the bank…
It also is saying that Teheran will start the season in AAA and the team will be in no rush to bring him up because we have so much starting pitching depth….
The only way teheran gets called up before July 1st is if the starting pitching staff gets the injury bugs or Either Big Red or Double J (or Both) are traded….I’m Banking on the later to happen for Teheran to be on the regular roster in 2011….

I think it’s a little low, considering Chipper’s 126 games last year came despite a stint on DL for midseason knee surgery, and was his lowest games-played total in five years.

My question is Bourn just an outfielder for 2 years,or will he be a player the Braves want to build around? I would like the Braves to keep Bourn,but if Lipka is better,than go with him after 2 years. In others words is bourn just a rental until Lipka is ready?

Lipka won’t be in big-league spring training. He’s not on the non-roster invitee list and hasn’t played above low-A. He very well could be the CF of the future, but too early to tell since he’s so young and inexperienced, and is going to be playing the position for the first time this season after switching to CF during the instructional league last fall. So to say he’ll be ready to take over in CF next year (if Bourn leaves after the 2012 season) is a bit of a stretch.

In theory I agree it would be a bad idea to let Bourn go. But if he signs some crazy number like 14-16m a year, no thanks. I would rather see the Braves go in a different direction than over pay for Bourn.

I’m starting to get that excited feeling about the season again. I hate ST because it’s too long and I get antsy when opening day creeps closer, but guys like Hanson, JJ, Heyward and Pastornicky should be some fun things to watch this spring.

CTB, be pleasantly surprised with his D and his overall performance. He is going to make rookie mistakes, no doubt. He is going to have one of those 5-8 game streaks where he struggles at the plate. But watch his hustle, the way he plays and at the end of the season he will be around 270 350 and around 19 E’s. And he will have a couple of game winning gap shots. The vets are going to take this kid under their wing and he is going to thrive on it.
