Have any of the Braves’ coaches discussed trying altering Tommy Hanson’s delivery? I remember, as a kid, seeing Ewell Blackwell’s delivery. He’s the only one I think of when I watch Tommy. I remember all the talk about Blackwell’s career being shortened because of his mechanics.

From the pages of history: “Blackwell’s best year was 1947, when he recorded 22 wins against 7 losses, including 16 consecutive complete game victories for a weak-hitting team. His bizarre sidearm delivery, put unusual strain on his arm, abbreviating his success and, ultimately, his career.”

the braves have done exactly what they should have done in the off season.frank wren should be given some credit this year.sometimes it’s the moves you don’t make that are the right moves. i have noticed on this thread a lot of smart atlanta brave fans, but about 30% of you are absolutely some of the biggest sports dumbasses i have ever encountered. go away and bother some other teams and fans.that wisc.guy, milwaukee is just next door, have at it.

True Diss:

I must have missed the surgery that Hanson had; when was that? Jurrjens and Hudson had surgerries to their knee and back respectively; not their arms. JJ was also available to pitch if there had been a playoff game and I have heard of no complicatiions with Hudson; only that the Braves don’t want to rush him back. Why should they when they have Teheran, Delgado, Medlen and possibly Vizcaino to choose from take his place until he gets back.

P.S. to OC. What’s up with you trying to ruin True Diss’s negative narrative with facts like how Charlie Lau was a great htting coach despite a lousy major league baatting average. He knows better than that; he’s got all the answers and can even predict the future.

I do what I can with my limited abilities and IQ. When I sent my job application in I thought I was applying for the equipment manager’s job.

Dang it! The Braves have added Buddy Carlyle! Now we will surely finish in second place.

I don’t look forward to my batters having to face him.

Carlyle is not a bad AAAA guy to have around in a pinch but hope that the Braves will not need him and he is here for org depth only.

Sometimes you need a guy like that. Remember the yr the Yankees had Aaron Small, he came in handy for that one yr in 2005 and had a once in a lifetime season.

You never know.

Leave Carlye in the minors unless he shows any trade value at all.Hoover is also a question mark and if he is healthy Peter Moylan would have it all over Cory Gearin who at times last year went from the penthouse to the outhouse…Tehran,Delgado,Vizcaiano and Minor could all make the team. With the back end of the pen set with O Flarety,Venters and Kimbrell……Vizcaiano,,Moylan and possibly Martinez in long relief…..With the projected starters the question is …How many pitchers do you carry on the 25 man roster? Will it be 12 or 13 and where does that leave Robert Fish who has to either stay or go back to Detroit?

100% in agreement on Hanson with his mechanics. He use.s upper body but no legs at all.Could be the problem.Oh and I almost forgot Kris Medlin which adds up to fourteen pitchers not to mention a phenom who may impress from the farm system..Everybody needs pitching. We need a corner outfielder.Right handed Power hitter especially if Chipper comes up lame and Prado goes to third.
To much pitching. We need more hitting and Bench help,,Agree or Disagree ?

We were so good, we couldn’t even get past the first round of the playoffs, and now we’ve lost one of our “aces” Roy Oswalt as well as “Fats” Howard for the first half of the season. But all is well with our dynasty because we have Pete Orr coming to save the day!

The Phillies have gotten what they have wished for: to be the “poor man’s Yankees.” I just read that Hamels might expect a huge contract extension from the Phils because they set that precedent with Ryan Howard. Hamels potentially making about $20 million per season is a joke! This is a guy who has had only one 15 win season. For all the knuckleheads who criticize the Braves management, I like our long-term chances way better than the Phils who will be choking on bloated contracts for many years.

This blog has really gone rotten and stinks to high heaven and all you naysayers need to pack up and leave. No wonder DOB headed to facebook to get rid of this monster he created. The majority of you whiners are not and have never been Braves fans. Just plain pitiful even for a bunch of children.

This might as well be New Birth Church!

“Give me your money people! Just give me your money! No matter what I do!”

As for me, I’ll be watching and enjoying baseball around the Leagues.

I’m gonna go for the last word on this:

Only if the Braves win 89 games in 2012 or (hopefully) more will they be able to say the collapse is truly behind them.

They say a lot of things but where is the proof?

Walk the walk Braves.

If they win 85 games this year then it’s not behind them.

That’s it.

Y’all, most of you, are sickening. This is the time of year for all team’s fans to be full of hope. I would try to explain why things could go our way but it would go to waste. GO BRAVOS!!!
