No idea why, but talking about that movie made me think of this song, one of my favorites:
January 24th, 201211:04 pm
I’d swear that BravesFanSince80s is Lou
Man, even DOB getting in on the Sharapova comments… there really needs to be another girl here to help me out!
January 24th, 201211:06 pm
Used to be a lead singer in a pretty good bar band, mostly classic rock and we used to kick a s s at parties back before I got married and dull and boring like you guys. — BravesFanSince80’s
That’s nothing. I used to be the “MainMan” (president) of the Gliese 581 c (of the Gliese 581 solar system), before I was ousted from their solar system for marrying a :SBaZZxorb. (apparently, that wasn’t Kosher)
If others want to attack each other, that is not something I am going to get in the middle of. I don’t fire personal attacks, and I take offense when others do it to me. Other than that, y’all are on your own
January 24th, 201211:08 pm
bravefaninbc, I don’t know why you’re even saying anything about me whatsoever, the few posts you had today were almost entirely bashing someone, practice what you preach dude, rude is as rude does man. have no idea who Lou is, somebody who’s a Lou Piniella or Lou Brock fan I’m guessing? Why is it you and several others immediately start trying to guess somebody’s identity if they’re not on here much and don’t agree with your every word?
January 24th, 201211:10 pm
BravesFanSince80’s: Appreciate the kind words, I was just taking up for my friends…that’s what friends do.
Tomahawkin (The Godfather)
D.O.B. Will Prolly Clown me on this but The Blues Brothers was one of the First Movies I ever saw and paid attention too…And I’m only watch a movie(s) 4 hours every 2 weeks
January 24th, 201211:11 pm
We need some Braves rumors dammit!!
January 24th, 201211:12 pm
Some friends and I pretended to have a band one night to pick up some chicks in a bar in Americus. Claimed to have an album released, I was the lead singer.
Anyway it worked, cause they left with us……….. Or maybe it was just that we were all, very young, horney and drunk.
January 24th, 201211:13 pm
Also- love this:
to clarify Tom I have to get up early most mornings with my two little boys and I usually scroll back through the blog from the previous night to see if anything interesting was discussed, mostly not, sorry…
January 24th, 201211:14 pm
Like many others here I think you are the rude one. My opinion and my right to say it and i don’t believe any of your denials. I firmly believe you are the same poster who frequents by different names and loves to start trouble and pretend to be the put upon one
“Dude most of the Bloggers on here this time of night in the offseason are on the Left Coast where its dinner and wine/time…I get The sarcastic rips from them as well and a few others on here…Just let it go bro…”
They are Blog veterans…
There is an “Ignore Button” if you don’t like the posts…
And on that Note, I’m Out
January 24th, 201211:15 pm
There’s a scene in the Blues Brothers movie that flashes to the police headquarters. In the background are two “Comten” front end processors (connects multiple users to a mainframe computer in the 70’s and 80’s computer world.
They are blue and the size of two refridgerators side by side.
I worked for that company back then and when the movie came out it was big news in our company.
we actually had guys try to claim to be part of our band or that they worked for us on several occasions, you’d be surprised how often that worked on drunk college girls, we mostly played college bars around Asheville and Clemson…
Bat, probably the latter.
January 24th, 201211:16 pm
please tell me where that ignore button is Tomahawkin
January 24th, 201211:18 pm
bravefaninbc, there are 365 some odd million people in America and you think ONE person pesters you on an Atlanta Braves blog? who’s the dumb one here? sheesh, I’m with you Tomahawkin’, out!
January 24th, 201211:20 pm
My kingdom for an ignore button
…I usually scroll back through the blog from the previous night to see if anything interesting was discussed, mostly not, sorry… — BravesFanSince80’s
However, you keep doing it, morning after morning after morning.
I’m telling you, LAdy, we have a freakin’ fan!!!
I’m not sure what I like best about the Tigers signing Prince – (1) the Tigers offense in 2012, (2) the Tigers offense in 2013, or (3) the fact that he didn’t sign with the Nats. . . . Actually, I do know what I like best! But (1) and (2) aren’t bad either!
I’m not sticking around tonight, too much going on elsewhere, but I couldn’t let today’s news go without a comment.
Have a good night (and a good tomorrow), and take care of yourselves and those you love!
January 24th, 201211:21 pm
I’m telling y’all…my mute button idea is BRILLIANT (and would make me mega super rich, but that is so beside the point )
January 24th, 201211:22 pm
I once dreamed that I played rhythm guitar for “America”……………….
does that count?
January 24th, 201211:23 pm
I was going to stay around awhile, but Tom and cab are ignoring me so I am going to leave.
Not sure why you are so excited- I have lots of fans…
January 24th, 201211:24 pm
Sorry, dude. I got caught up in Linkin Park music. It is nice to know I have so much power over blog folk
January 24th, 201211:25 pm
I had a dream last night that I was a character in The Hunger Games…is that bad?
January 24th, 201211:27 pm
That’s what I’m thinking. The name of the place was Sydneys Geen Elephant I loved that joint.
Good jamming music, plenty of pretty young ladies, it was in an old barn like building …….. There was this one girl, part Native American, beautiful thick black hair, just beatiful period…….. She liked to walk around with her hand in my back pocket, ah man……….. Good times
January 24th, 201211:29 pm
Did you leave with your wallet?
January 24th, 201211:31 pm
“please tell me where that ignore button is Tomahawkin”
Its In Your Mind in that don’t take these Blogs too seriously as a lot of people do on here especially in disagreement of opinion or trying to be stat-geeks and belittle others…Thats the only way to survive on the blog….
Or Put it like This If D.O.B. took some of the comments directed at him on here as If He Was President of the Braves: He would’ve stepped off the Blog long ago
January 24th, 201211:32 pm
Oh yeah, and her, every night for a while there.
January 24th, 201211:33 pm
There really needs to be another female on this blog right now. Linkin Park can only take me so far…
January 24th, 201211:36 pm
There really needs to be another female on this blog right now. Linkin Park can only take me so far…
I don’t like speaking for the other guys on here, LAdy, but I believe we all could go for more females.
I know you could, Tom..
January 24th, 201211:38 pm
Bat, it always helped if someone could speak with a British accent…that would get them every time.
Accents are super sexy
January 24th, 201211:39 pm
Also- men in uniform
January 24th, 201211:40 pm
Early to bed, early to rise, makes DS1 healthy, wealthy and wise.
Well, the healthy, wealthy and wise might be a stretch…………
January 24th, 201211:41 pm
January 24th, 201211:42 pm
January 24th, 201211:43 pm
Last one, because I know none of you click on any of my links:
January 24th, 201211:44 pm
I think accents are sexy with women, too, cabravesfan. Especially a British one. Couldn’t care less about a uniform though (except for one with a bunny-tail, maybe).
January 24th, 201211:45 pm
Men in uniform are hot.
January 24th, 201211:46 pm
Ha, here is a radio ad for the place. It seems this was after the place had been shut down for a while. I remember them closing it and it never was the same after they opened back up. The Police were rather narrow minded about some of the stuff we smoked back in those days. I’ve never heard of this band………..
January 24th, 201211:48 pm
oh yeah, I like a woman with a British accent, too
January 24th, 201211:49 pm
Actually, I’ve “clicked” on all 3. Haven’t played any yet because I’m running back & forth to the kitchen. Just waiting until I can listen to, whatever-it-is-that-you-feel-is-so-good-that-you-had-to-share-it, without interruption.
Accents and uniforms are cool, but everybody looks good at closing time. Like the old song says “I never went to bed with an ugly woman, but I sure woke up with a few!”.
good night, Wayne.
..An inmate at a correctional facility
January 24th, 201211:57 pm
2 days later, and it still feels good knowing that many 49er fans are suffering and hurting from Sunday’s loss.
January 24th, 201211:58 pm
2 days later and most of us are over it and have moved on. You should try it
January 24th, 201211:59 pm
Bat, cool link, Ben Dover & Tennessee Tucker have played in and around the ATL for years, I think back to the 70’s. They always put on a fun show.
January 25th, 201212:01 am
Is that our buddy, Dentz, cabravesfan?
January 25th, 201212:02 am
Of course. He’s been using that name for a while. Added the dots after the last time he got banned
January 25th, 201212:04 am
I listened to all of your links, too. I like Linkin Park a lot, but that song belongs to Adele (IMHO), one of my all time favorites and I never tire of it.
January 25th, 201212:05 am
oh, they give full credit to her at the beginning and end of the song. They were in London when they sang it. I love her version, but theirs is great too
I can’t believe there is a you tube link to that place.
Yeah, come to think of it I’ve heard of those guys.
January 25th, 201212:06 am
Give ol’ Paulie a pass, cabravesfan. His extremely immature, pouting rage stems from jealousy.
Hell, look at how well your 49ers have improved since last year, and the future they have.
Then take a look at his sorry team. You almost have to feel sorry for the poor scumbag, you know?
January 25th, 201212:07 am
What’s important is that you are happy, PL.
January 25th, 201212:08 am
Oh, his comments don’t bother me. Just felt like pointing out that his perceived insults are already old.
cab, yes. that is just a killer of a song, The original video was released by Adele to her fans Nov. or Dec. a year ago, and I remember I listened to it 10 times a day for a solid month and was just amazed at how good it was. And I’m still not tired of it.
January 25th, 201212:10 am
it is a great song (if you listen to the very end of the LInkin Park video, Chester thanks Adele for writing it)- their cover is just different enough to make it, in my opinion, as good as the original (or very close) (Linkin Park is probably my favorite band, so I may be a bit bias… )
January 25th, 201212:12 am
Bat, those kind of bands in those kind of clubs were always fun and there were usually lots and lots of chicks. You are making me misty for the good ole’ days.
January 25th, 201212:15 am
cab, I completely understand. Metallica has done a lot of great covers, too, as has Pearl Jam. I always appreciate bands who aren’t afraid to take on a song just because it’s a great song even if it doesn’t fit their style.
January 25th, 201212:18 am
That is something I sort of love about Linkin Park- I’ve heard them do everything from mellow songs like Rolling in the Deep to hard rock to quasi rap. They can and do pretty much cover most of the popular genres.
January 25th, 201212:22 am
Also- they don’t do a lot of covers. I think they chose to do that one because they thought (like you and I and many others) that it was a great song and they were in her home town- I have also seen a clip of Chester and Mike sitting in plastic chairs in front of a random group of media, with one acoustic guitar playing Rolling in the Deep while looking at the sheet music spread on the floor (they were at some festival in Germany and it is one of the coolest clips I’ve seen)
Yeah, I hear you brother. Those were good times, before the Aids epidemic put a damper on the free love days.
It’s funny but out of the hundreds of girls, that black haired beauty with her hand in my back pocket is one of the few I never forgot.
January 25th, 201212:24 am
This is the; how well do you know me, LAdy? segment of the blog.
Which one of your 3 musical links do you think I favored?
January 25th, 201212:27 am
cab, I would love to see the Linkin Park clip you described.
January 25th, 201212:32 am
Bat, I know exactly what you mean about the ones you always remember. I took my daughters to Six Flags when they were young and I remember sitting on a bench waiting while they were in line for the Scream Machine and I sat next to a pretty lady from Chattanooga who was waiting on her kids too. We must have talked for 2 hours and I kick myself to this day that I didn’t get her number and follow up. She was the neatest person and we seemed to have so much in common.
January 25th, 201212:35 am
here it is:
January 25th, 201212:36 am
I’m going to go with Marc Broussard Home
January 25th, 201212:38 am
Does anyone know how to make that,”aaaaaa”, sound for a wrong answer?
Never mind, I’ll just go with, aaaaaa!
January 25th, 201212:39 am
So which one was it???
Yep, Ken, I get that.
Some women just touch you deep inside……. maybe it’s an hour, a day, a month or a year, no matter you don’t foget them.
January 25th, 201212:43 am
great story -
Tell me quickly because I need to go to bed
January 25th, 201212:45 am
I liked #2 (Linkin Park) better than #1. But my favorite was #3, Metallica playing with a symphony orchestra.
I thought you knew I favored instruments over lyrics. And there was a heap of instruments, there.
January 25th, 201212:48 am
I LOVE that Metallica clip- they played an entire set with the San Francisco Orchestra, but that is probably my favorite song of theirs.
TIme for me to head to bed. Gotta be up early for the gym tomorrow. Night Tom! Night blog!
January 25th, 201212:50 am
See ya, cab.
Well, I am going to watch the new “Justified” I DVR’d and then to bed. Maybe tomorrow the maroons will bug Bradley or Shultz. Goodnite all.
January 25th, 201212:52 am
I’m very disappointed that you missed that one, cabravesfan. I thought you read my comments.
I betcha, BravesFanSince80’s, would have gotten that one right.
Good night, LAdy.
January 25th, 201212:55 am
Oh yeah, uga-brave, where are you? We lost a biggun offensive lineman today because he couldn’t produce a birth certificate. WTF?
January 25th, 201212:57 am
cricket, nice story.
See ya, Ken
January 25th, 201212:58 am
I do read them. I just can’t retain everything (which is a Me problem- I have a terrible memory)
January 25th, 20122:19 am
Hello everyone! Glad Fielder signed with the Tigers.Whew……Now we don’t have to worry about him in our Division,or in the National League.
January 25th, 20122:27 am
Saw where Karl ravech said that he thinks oswalt may go to the braves among other teams any truth to that dob
January 25th, 20122:30 am
Heard about cutting ticket prices, and foiod prces good idea, which can bring more people out to the games. Just hope we don’t see any Yellow Pages out on the center field wall,or an advertisement for Goodyear Tires on the right field wall,or anything else?A liltle humor…….
January 25th, 20122:31 am
Do like the food prices cut down, along with the tickets.Too bad I don’t live down in Georgia.Would go to some Braves games.
January 25th, 20122:37 am
Really “Drive”. Still don’t understand why everyone thinks that movie is so good. The first getaway scene was good, then there is a 30-45 minute dead period (actually don’t know how long but up to the robbery) then it picks up. But honestly I couldn’t tell if Gosling was autistic or just dumb in this movie. I actually could have cared less what happened to him and that coat was obnoxious. Ok the fight scenes were pretty good, but the rest of the middle of the movie was like watching paint dry…don’t see what all the fuss was about. 2 star movie IMO.
I like the Farm System, and think we should now just go with. We have some great talent coming up,and If we don’t have to trade, than we should not trade. We are solid in young arms, and with SS.I think we will be fine.
January 25th, 20122:44 am
I believe the Braves will be better, and no I don’t see another callapse, but a stronger Braves team, and a Younger one going to the pay-offs again. All have a good one,and peace my friends…….talk tomorrow…….
January 25th, 20123:55 am
I was surprised too that he rated Drive so highly. I liked it, but did not think it was that great.
January 25th, 20124:00 am
I’m not sure that the Braves will be better, but I agree that another collapse is not very likely.
after some thought and several beers, I think it stinks that we are going to have as many players the likes of Diaz,Constanza, Durango, Sutton etc
maybe it was more than just several beers
January 25th, 20126:05 am
Hello? Is anybody out there?
