Which teams are looking at Mark Teahen? Would he be a good pickup for the Braves at minimum salary?
January 23rd, 20126:01 pm
That takeaway that wasn’t (the forward progress fumble) is the most puzzling of calls in the game last night????

I was looking over the Giants roster and found yet another UGA running back on the roster. Danny Ware, who seems to be going by DJ Ware has been on the Giants team since 2007 and played in all 16 games this year and started one.
Does anyone put more running backs in the NFL than UGA?
January 23rd, 20126:34 pm
that’s what they say about the 60s, if you can remember it you weren’t really there

in due respect to all parties concern with football the Falcons in football as the Braves in baseball are my team…none 2nd…so the super bowl is a simply a beer party fest evening which i would dare say is for 70% of the nation anyway…which is one of the big reasons this sports is the leader and always will be….so baseball nerds (WHICH I AM ALSO) can take a step back and simply watch or tune or plug in reruns of their favorite T.V. shows or movie…the Daytona 500 is also around the corner with spring training not far behind …Hawks are looking good also…this time of year is in deed a sports fan dream…
January 23rd, 20126:42 pm
Henceforth, I will post only researchable anecdoes.

Dammit, I found him. Or her. I want “props.” Been too long in these parts without “props.”
Do you recall the microphone missing the first line? Game One, it was raining, and “When she sang out “Oh, say can you see…” the audience heard nothing but the organ. Then, when it suddenly came back on to a startled audience with “by the dawn’s early light…”
January 23rd, 20126:46 pm
Here’s one for the Blog (Sopheee and I and others played this game a little one time, I think…can’t remember what we called it if we did…)
I was reading and article about fantasy baseball, talking about catchers—more specifically, I was reading the Braves’ section. And this made me think of the good folks on here:
Backup: Ross is one of the premier backups in the league. To be honest, he could play full-time on some clubs.
He tried to make it sound like a new idea…
January 23rd, 20126:49 pm
Anecdoes huh? They must be in the same family as arachnomanias.
January 23rd, 20126:53 pm
I was figgerin’ it had to involve Murph. Amusing, baby deer quips…
January 23rd, 20126:55 pm
Anecdoes, Scoots? Is that the female of a species of Murph’s deers?
another foe paw?

Bas, not a “she”. I might have been killing brain cells in those days, but, not so much I’d confuse a man and a woman.

‘75 Series, Game One, and she’s blind. The pictures I’ve seen are not flattering. I’m bettin’ it’s her…
Wow, San Francisco 49ers have some of the worst fans out there. I thought the Phillies were the worst, but they seem to be neck and neck. The 49ers kicker receiving death threats is appalling.
January 23rd, 20127:01 pm
damn I’m getting slow in my dottage
I gonna kill my neighbors rapping ass dog any minute now.
January 23rd, 20127:02 pm

January 23rd, 20127:07 pm
don’t kill it Bat, sign it to a contract
January 23rd, 20127:08 pm
Bat – I’d be a lot more apt to kill a Rapping Dog than a Yapping Dog. Rapping is at least 100 times more irritating.
January 23rd, 20127:09 pm
If you had a dog that could rap you could make a fortune off of it

Yeah, Wayne it’s been on a nice run, so has URRE since I mentioned it to you, about 55%.
I was going to pull the trigger on URRE about three weeks ago,but wanted to let another deal play out and get my taxes settled. Now I’m wondering about a pull back.
My name is ruff,I know my stuff. Bat is my owner,he sure is a loner.
Don’t lump all 49ers fans in with a few lunatics. Every team in every city has people that can’t separate the game from real life. Just look at some of the comments on this blog after a loss.
January 23rd, 20127:13 pm
And it was not the kicker, it was their back up punt returner
January 23rd, 20127:14 pm
Just look at some of the comments on this blog after a loss…cab
or just after an opposing player gets on first……
If there was political talk on this blog I’d post this this funny comparison photo of Newt and Dwight from the Office photo…. hmmm but we don’t talk politics sooo…heh.
January 23rd, 20127:15 pm
CB’s old, shouldn’t be rappin’. I’m just as bad, this sounds like yappin’.
OK, that’s horrible. But, I got to be a jerk to CB. So, there’s that…
Yeah I guess a rapping dog would be worth something. All this yapping dog is doing is making it impossible for me to hear the surf. Which sucks because it relaxes me, and if I was relaxed the dog would stand a better chance of seeing another sunrise.
January 23rd, 20127:16 pm
No guts, no glory……………. (he says as he wonders what happened to the 3 investments that went bankrupt in the past 2 years)
January 23rd, 20127:18 pm
Isn’t there some sort of relatively humane high-pitched sound that responds to the yapping, and irritates the little noisemaker into submission? Thought I heard somethin’…
January 23rd, 20127:19 pm
With all the accolades, bestowed upon the innept idiot, who squats in the White House, I wouldn’t be surprised if the BBWAA voted him into the Hall of Fame – EVERY YEAR!!
January 23rd, 20127:21 pm
Bat – no joking, go give the dog a bone. They bark like that when they are neglected.
Mine was better, old or not. HA!
January 23rd, 20127:24 pm
January 23rd, 20127:26 pm
Gray, you talking about that squatter Bo?
Not my dog, key, plus there is a privacy fence between me and it. My neighbor must have let him/her in because it finally stopped. I don’t recall this being a problem before, maybe it’s a new dog.

There are cuckoo people everywhere not just Philly & SF.

No guts, no glory………… _. DS1
Yeah but I’m not looking for glory.
Oil is up on Iran(or something) and Europe is still a mess. I don’t know but URRE was up to about 1.50 a few months ago and pulled back to .70 ……… Maybe they hold this time, maybe not. If the volume dries up I think it bleeds back down.
January 23rd, 20127:41 pm
So because one or two people made terrible comments, the 49ers have awful fans and you are glad the team lost? How does that even make sense? Are the tens of thousands that sat in a driving, freezing rain for 4 hours and gave the team a standing ovation when it was over horrible? What about the group of people that drove out to the practice facility early this morning, 45 miles from the city, to wait in the freezing cold just to greet the players and say thank you? They are bad too? Or the hundreds of others that posted nothing but positive comments to Kyle Williams and the rest of the team after the game? None of that matters because of one comment that has been made public by the media? (Every story I have read has used the same tweet, and only that tweet). Not sure why you are a Braves fan, if that is your standard, because I seem to recall Brooks Conrad was called some pretty terrible things and received some awful threats when he messed up in the play offs…
January 23rd, 20127:42 pm
because I seem to recall Brooks Conrad was called some pretty terrible things and received some awful threats when he messed up in the play offs…
I was at that game, and as everyone was leaving, there was a logjam at the stairs and it got backed up a good bit. I jokingly commented “Is this the line to punch Brooks Conrad?”
Got a couple laughs
January 23rd, 20127:46 pm

I may have to look into that if it keeps up.
Wren thinks he has done sometning y signing all the arb-elgibles. All he has done is get the team further from competing than they were
So was I.
January 23rd, 20127:53 pm
cab, seriously? You get way too defensive. Just CTFO, as I said some. Not all.
I know we have our share of ‘em. I know how Tomahawkin and some others are.
January 23rd, 20127:54 pm
“I was joking”
Of course you were. You have a good sense of humor.
Rumors are Fielder is getting some looks by the O’s…if they were to sign him mybe they would move a bat like Jones or Reimold.
Still waiting for the Braves to make a move with the Dodgers for Jerry Sands!!
January 23rd, 20127:58 pm
Sorry, but making broad generalizations based on a single reported comment annoys me.
January 23rd, 20127:59 pm

Someone is posing, by the name Scott Swaim, as a MLB Insider and even his MLB Insider Logo on Twitter is counterfeit
This just tweeted and hilarious that he is being outed by so many as a fraud
Scott Swaim totally had that Omar-Vizquel-to-the-Jays deal first, except he got the player, the team and the terms wrong.

big talkers on a blog…. how impressive

January 23rd, 20128:18 pm
So Omar Vizquel signed with the Blue Jays. HOFer? Defensive whiz, but will most likely be labeled a “compiler”. I’d say he gets a lot of attention and maybe follows a voting arc similar to Bert Blyleven before eventually getting in.
January 23rd, 20128:20 pm
It was pretty embarrassing. I think Boston’s collapse was worse, if I’m not mistaken.
January 23rd, 20128:21 pm
And The Sensitive bloggers on here think I’m Hardcore During Games???
I have nothing on the Cats on The Philly.com forums…They can be brutal if one takes that forum too seriously…
I Damn Near Got Death Threats on there when I joined that Forum in 2004 as well as about 2 years ago when I started a post saying that “No Way The Phillies win 100 games” before the start of the 2010 season, citing the fact that the division was gonna be to tough
Their Fans are already calling for their GM to get The Ax after getting Upset 2 years in a row

But now to find out she has been type 2 diabetic for 3 years while still cooking like a crazy lady (sugar and butter in everything!)? And now she wants to partner up with a diabetes drug company?

What is the likelihood the Braves sign a top-flight free-agent outfielder if they choose to let Michael Bourn go after the season? I do not think they should trade Prado. I see him as Chipper Jones’ successor at third base. What do you think?
– Josh G., Griffin, Ga.
Mark Bowman: Teams have to project beyond the current year, and dedicated fans are always trying to get a sense of what their team might look like in the future. But the answers to these questions will be heavily influenced by what transpires this year.
We know the Braves will have the resources to be active next winter, and we know that Josh Hamilton, Shane Victorino, Bourn and a few more talented outfielders will be part of an attractive free-agent market. Right now, it’s easy to guess that the Braves will actively pursue at least one of these outfielders.
But what if Jason Heyward rebounds in an impressive manner this year, or a prospect such as Todd Cunningham or Matt Lipka provides indication that they could be ready for the Majors within a year or two? These variables will certainly influence the aggressiveness the Braves show on the free-agent market.
Now that it appears he will not be traded, Prado will return for at least one more year to serve as the starting left fielder and Jones’ primary backup at third base. Over the past few years, there was speculation he would be the veteran third baseman’s successor at the hot corner.
But Prado’s future with the club will be dictated by how he performs on the field this year. There has already been some debate about whether he will be worth the $7 million salary he could gain as an arbitration-eligible player in 2013. He will have to give the Braves confidence he is indeed a valuable everyday player before anybody should guarantee whether the team would be comfortable enough to pay this salary.
If Prado puts up his career numbers of around .295/.345/.435, I think that’s pretty worth $7 million with above average defense at third.

I think it was Efrim who has said Red Sox all along. Sure wasn’t gonna be the Braves
