Which teams are looking at Mark Teahen? Would he be a good pickup for the Braves at minimum salary?

I was looking over the Giants roster and found yet another UGA running back on the roster. Danny Ware, who seems to be going by DJ Ware has been on the Giants team since 2007 and played in all 16 games this year and started one.

Does anyone put more running backs in the NFL than UGA?

in due respect to all parties concern with football the Falcons in football as the Braves in baseball are my team…none 2nd…so the super bowl is a simply a beer party fest evening which i would dare say is for 70% of the nation anyway…which is one of the big reasons this sports is the leader and always will be….so baseball nerds (WHICH I AM ALSO) can take a step back and simply watch or tune or plug in reruns of their favorite T.V. shows or movie…the Daytona 500 is also around the corner with spring training not far behind …Hawks are looking good also…this time of year is in deed a sports fan dream…

Dammit, I found him. Or her. I want “props.” Been too long in these parts without “props.”

Do you recall the microphone missing the first line? Game One, it was raining, and “When she sang out “Oh, say can you see…” the audience heard nothing but the organ. Then, when it suddenly came back on to a startled audience with “by the dawn’s early light…”

Here’s one for the Blog (Sopheee and I and others played this game a little one time, I think…can’t remember what we called it if we did…)

I was reading and article about fantasy baseball, talking about catchers—more specifically, I was reading the Braves’ section. And this made me think of the good folks on here:

Backup: Ross is one of the premier backups in the league. To be honest, he could play full-time on some clubs.

 He tried to make it sound like a new idea… ;)

So because one or two people made terrible comments, the 49ers have awful fans and you are glad the team lost? How does that even make sense? Are the tens of thousands that sat in a driving, freezing rain for 4 hours and gave the team a standing ovation when it was over horrible? What about the group of people that drove out to the practice facility early this morning, 45 miles from the city, to wait in the freezing cold just to greet the players and say thank you? They are bad too? Or the hundreds of others that posted nothing but positive comments to Kyle Williams and the rest of the team after the game? None of that matters because of one comment that has been made public by the media? (Every story I have read has used the same tweet, and only that tweet). Not sure why you are a Braves fan, if that is your standard, because I seem to recall Brooks Conrad was called some pretty terrible things and received some awful threats when he messed up in the play offs…

What is the likelihood the Braves sign a top-flight free-agent outfielder if they choose to let Michael Bourn go after the season? I do not think they should trade Prado. I see him as Chipper Jones’ successor at third base. What do you think?
– Josh G., Griffin, Ga.

Mark Bowman: Teams have to project beyond the current year, and dedicated fans are always trying to get a sense of what their team might look like in the future. But the answers to these questions will be heavily influenced by what transpires this year.

We know the Braves will have the resources to be active next winter, and we know that Josh Hamilton, Shane Victorino, Bourn and a few more talented outfielders will be part of an attractive free-agent market. Right now, it’s easy to guess that the Braves will actively pursue at least one of these outfielders.

But what if Jason Heyward rebounds in an impressive manner this year, or a prospect such as Todd Cunningham or Matt Lipka provides indication that they could be ready for the Majors within a year or two? These variables will certainly influence the aggressiveness the Braves show on the free-agent market.

Now that it appears he will not be traded, Prado will return for at least one more year to serve as the starting left fielder and Jones’ primary backup at third base. Over the past few years, there was speculation he would be the veteran third baseman’s successor at the hot corner.

But Prado’s future with the club will be dictated by how he performs on the field this year. There has already been some debate about whether he will be worth the $7 million salary he could gain as an arbitration-eligible player in 2013. He will have to give the Braves confidence he is indeed a valuable everyday player before anybody should guarantee whether the team would be comfortable enough to pay this salary.

If Prado puts up his career numbers of around .295/.345/.435, I think that’s pretty worth $7 million with above average defense at third.
