I miss Sam Drucker…
(okay, not as much as the Jo’s…)
The petticoat of the title is an old-fashioned garment once worn under a woman’s skirt. The opening titles of the series featured a display of petticoats hanging on the side of a large railroad water tank where the three daughters are skinnydipping. In fact, the show’s opening theme is said to contain a hint of sexual innuendo in the line, “Lotsa curves you bet. N’even more when you get to the Junction.” This means that the line could be referring not to the railroad tracks, but to the figures of Kate Bradley’s three beautiful daughters. _Wiki

not as much as the Jo’s
Ha, no kidding
January 16th, 201211:13 pm
Some people say in the second life
We all come back sooner or later
As anything from a …..cat
To a man-eating alligator…
This means that the line could be referring not to the railroad tracks, but to the figures of Kate Bradley’s three beautiful daughters.
Actually there were four daughters – Billie Jo, Betty Jo, Bobbie Jo and the errant sister banished and never talked about, BJ.
January 16th, 201211:14 pm
Wow – just attempted to post those lyrics, but the part of the song before cat was withheld from public consumption…

Smart people of the world, UNITE!
Bat answers my own question – easy answer for the ’60’s is Get Smart as best sitcom…
You’re pi times the integral of x^5 dx from -e to omicron

Frank Wren to Scott Boras (concerning Jurrjens and Bourn), “Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends………..I bring my money to the welfare line
I see you standing in it every time………… Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends….”

according to my grandparents/parents donna douglas used to baby sit my uncles (I think that was the story) – I used to see her often when I worked at the baton rouge airport
January 17th, 201212:11 am
I was reading some articles on The Braves from Fox Sports MSN. I’m confident now that the Braves will be O.K. Wren, could pull off another trade around the All Star Break,or Trad Deadline.I’m really feeling good about the braves this year.Confidence Is Great………
January 17th, 201212:12 am
We still could see a trade later during the season?
I had a crush on this lady. I think she was singing to me when she said…………. “We’ve only just begun to livewhite lace and promises a kiss for luck and we’re on our way…”
January 17th, 201212:13 am
Braves down to 2 unsigned arb-eligibles after agreeing tonight to a 1-yr, $2.49M deal w/ Eric O’Flaherty. Left unsigned are 2 Boras guys: Jurrjens, Bourn. Tomorrow’s the day they swap arb figures unless they sign before. They can keep negotiating after swapping figures, so tomorrow’s deadline of sorts really doesn’t mean much.

Why do birds, suddenly appear, every time, Wayne is near…
and Karen Carpenter loved to play softball and baseball………….
I’m wondering if I’m on the right page? Hope everyone is O.K.

She’s really, really good with monkeys.
I know I can come across as different on the blog, but in the real world, I am very hard for ladies to resist! They are always so disappointed when they find out I am smitten by Ms DS1!
So it’s probably better that we never meet…………. for Jim’s sake. Now I know he has got to be a great catch, but……………..
January 17th, 201212:18 am
People back to your sit-coms………I’ll talk tomorrow, and peace……..
January 17th, 201212:19 am
How ya doing Ward?
Joe (Skyrim fan)
January 17th, 201212:22 am
The DH was intended to increase run percentage, but as we have seen, it really has not done much to increase. You still see plenty of 1-0 games in the AL. It just takes away from the pitcher, who should not be half the player. If we are paying their salaries, which some seem to exceed hundreds of millions, we should get our money’s worth.
January 17th, 201212:23 am
Elly Mae is 1 month older than my dad.
WOW! I’m getting old…………….
January 17th, 201212:25 am
Do you have any idea what percentage (roughly) of Boras’ clients that settle in arbitration vs going to the hearings?
I’d guess it is low.
January 17th, 201212:26 am
You would love me! I am sure Mrs. DS1 is amazing (I mean, she married you so her tolerance level has to be sky high ) But I am pretty awesome too
January 17th, 201212:27 am
DS1 – who did you like the best back in the day, Donna Douglas or Sally Struthers? It’s no contest to me.
And I think it is time for me to wander off to bed. Good night blog folk!
January 17th, 201212:29 am
In a perfectly honorable way, I do love ya!
January 17th, 201212:30 am
DD > SS ..
January 17th, 201212:31 am
It was DD for me………. although SS was as cute as a button earlier in her career.
January 17th, 201212:33 am
Who are your current hotties that get ya going?
For me, it’s Sandra Bullock and Charlize Theron………..
January 17th, 201212:34 am
and definitely Ms DS1!
ohhh I’m not going to want to get up in the morning…
January 17th, 201212:35 am
DS1 – I pay no attention…
January 17th, 201212:37 am
In fact, watching the Golden Globes brought no discernible interest in Kate Beckinsale and her ilk…
January 17th, 201212:40 am
although SS was as cute as a button earlier in her career.
She’s shaped like a button now.
Also, j-Just had a conversation with cab in which I was schooled in how the color of a certain dress did not work for Kat McPhee, while I was mistakenly taken with mere physical attributes unrelated to hue…
January 17th, 201212:41 am
Finally I have some of my home repairs being done. Got all the soffits, fascia and siding finished late last week. I have the gutters being replaced on Feb 10th and the fence will be replaced in another week. Just a few more roof repairs and trash/damaged pieces hauled off, but it’s started snowing again.
I just put 2 and 2 together a couple of days ago, and realized my back problems didn’t start until we started hauling off old fencing and trees in early December.
Can I sue mother nature?
January 17th, 201212:45 am
I had a lower lumbar laminectomy 14 years ago, which I attributed to playing basketball for several million hours – I did manage my way back onto the court three weeks later for a brief appearance to keep my consecutive games played streak alive (and scored 6 points)…just felt some discomfort in the same spot for the first time since then…
January 17th, 201212:50 am
I must away ere break of day
Far over wood and mountain tall…
January 17th, 201212:52 am
I had an MRI on Saturday. Should have some results in a day or so (they were all closed today). I am also starting some PT tomorrow morning. The leg pain has been less severe for the past couple of days.
If this is going to be an ongoing issue, I just need to get it resolved so I can get back to regular work. Sitting around at home is not ideal to my biz. The phone is great, but it’s not like face time.
January 17th, 201212:57 am
For the record, Kat McPhee was wearing a flesh colored dress that totally washed her out. She’s gorgeous but some cot would have been better for her skin tone.
January 17th, 201212:59 am
Actually, even Boras only takes a few of his guys to arbitration in any given year. He usually settles, though not quite as frequently as most agents.
January 17th, 20121:14 am
Never heard of her before Jim mentioned her a bit ago. Googled her and she’s a gorgeous lady.
January 17th, 20121:16 am
Good to know. Maybe the Braves can get things squared away with JJ and Bourn. I’ve heard that the hearings are not ideal, as you get a chance to have your employer explain to you what they consider are your warts.
January 17th, 20121:23 am
Donna Douglas? Really? I just want to thank a few of you guys for making this one of the few corners of sports discussion where I can feel absolutely youthful by comparison.
Fellas, Donna Douglas was born during the Great Depression — and not even the latter part of the Great Depression.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
