The petticoat of the title is an old-fashioned garment once worn under a woman’s skirt. The opening titles of the series featured a display of petticoats hanging on the side of a large railroad water tank where the three daughters are skinnydipping. In fact, the show’s opening theme is said to contain a hint of sexual innuendo in the line, “Lotsa curves you bet. N’even more when you get to the Junction.” This means that the line could be referring not to the railroad tracks, but to the figures of Kate Bradley’s three beautiful daughters. _Wiki

Actually there were four daughters – Billie Jo, Betty Jo, Bobbie Jo and the errant sister banished and never talked about, BJ.

Braves down to 2 unsigned arb-eligibles after agreeing tonight to a 1-yr, $2.49M deal w/ Eric O’Flaherty. Left unsigned are 2 Boras guys: Jurrjens, Bourn. Tomorrow’s the day they swap arb figures unless they sign before. They can keep negotiating after swapping figures, so tomorrow’s deadline of sorts really doesn’t mean much.

The DH was intended to increase run percentage, but as we have seen, it really has not done much to increase. You still see plenty of 1-0 games in the AL. It just takes away from the pitcher, who should not be half the player. If we are paying their salaries, which some seem to exceed hundreds of millions, we should get our money’s worth.

Finally I have some of my home repairs being done. Got all the soffits, fascia and siding finished late last week. I have the gutters being replaced on Feb 10th and the fence will be replaced in another week. Just a few more roof repairs and trash/damaged pieces hauled off, but it’s started snowing again.
I just put 2 and 2 together a couple of days ago, and realized my back problems didn’t start until we started hauling off old fencing and trees in early December.

Fellas, Donna Douglas was born during the Great Depression — and not even the latter part of the Great Depression.
