Pierre sux. throws like a girl, a weak one at that
he also made 8.5 mil last year, no way he takes enuff less for the Braves to sign him

VJ … I haven’t watched much football this year, but the Giants did look pretty good against the Falcons and the Packers. I’m sure Tomahawkin’s BSPN is going to talk up the east coast team over the next week.

But, if you think the G-men are going down, you should get your trash-talking in during the week.

VABravesfan did a run down on the 25 man earlier on the blog. Unless the Braves plan on releasing Diaz or Hinske (or trading), I don’t think there’s room for two more players.

I think Jack Wilson is the utility man. Braves really need a competent back up to CF, unless Constanza is going to be the Master of that Domain.

Ward

Some one on the blog complained about getting Jack Wilson, and not signing a better SS,but why get a high priced back up if you only need him for 1year? Braves are deep in SS,and it doesn’t make sense to spend a lot of money on a back up SS. If your your only going to use him for 1year?

Pierre sounds French…..we don’t need anyone who’s French on the team. A little humor.

David Ross is your back up catcher, Eric Hinske, will cover LF and 1st base while pinch hitting. Jack Wilson’s primarily a SS but can play 2B. Prado’s in LF unless Chipper needs the day off at 3B. Diaz isn’t a lock to make the team, but if he does Matty covers LF, RF and pinch hits. Constanza is quad A material, nothing more.

Simply put, Bourn doesn’t have a capable back up to play CF. Which is why I brought up Pierre’s name.

Heck, look at the depth chart. They have Constanza penciled in and the guy won’t even make the 25 roster out of spring training.

Coach, I take it Constanza would back Bourn up in CF. See I’m just not crazy about the guy like some. He’s fast and can play a decent OF, but he still can’t hit other than that little streak thing he went on. I hope Wren doesn’t count on him this year other than pinch running or late defense replacement.

Good luck to you Giants’ fans in your future game(s).

I’m still hoping to find out who stole the Packers’ uniforms and played tonight. I don’t remember ever seeing them play so badly.
Tonight’s only the 2nd time in the last two seasons that I turned the TV off (or walked away, as I was at a friend’s house) before the game was over.
The only other time was last season, the 2nd or 3rd game, against the Bears. They set an NFL record for the most penalties. I turned the set off in the 4th quarter with the Packers still winning by 3 points. I couldn’t take anymore.
(They ended up losing by 3 points – either at the last few seconds or in OT. I don’t remember.)

Okay. I have to meet a state Senator on Tuesday. While I want to respect his office, I also must be honest enough to admit that the office is just the state senate of New Jersey. Of course, I have lived in states where the state senate president’s brother–Whitey Bulger–was at the top of the FBI’s most wanted list. Or in states (Illinois) where the governor (Rod Blagojevich) was en route to federal prison. Do I need to worry about this? Or can I just show up and wing it?

Tom – sorry that you had to rely on horrible calls to even have a chance – I was stunned at how well we played… — Venice Jim

The call on the Jennings fumble was a joke. What the hell was the referee looking at? You said, “calls”. That’s the only one I remember.
Unless, there was another one in the last 5 minutes of the game. I left after Ryan Grant fumbled the ball in the 4th quarter – with around 5-6 minutes left in the game. I couldn’t take anymore, and the game was out of reach by then.

The Giants played well. They didn’t make too many mistakes. However, the Packers made the Giants’ defense look pretty good, too. I felt the Packers could move the ball with no problem. It was HOLDING on to the ball that was the problem.
Most of the Packers’ drives were thwarted by their own mistakes. Maybe they had too much time off?

Anyway, I’ve got to go. Good night.
