Pierre sux. throws like a girl, a weak one at that
he also made 8.5 mil last year, no way he takes enuff less for the Braves to sign him

And you blog like a genius. Which why I won’t bother arguing with ya Gump.
Is it true the rumor? Are The Braves close to signing Cody Ross? This will be a good week for me if so?

VJ … I haven’t watched much football this year, but the Giants did look pretty good against the Falcons and the Packers. I’m sure Tomahawkin’s BSPN is going to talk up the east coast team over the next week.
But, if you think the G-men are going down, you should get your trash-talking in during the week.
I thought people stopped lusting after Pierre years ago…no accounting for taste…
January 15th, 201210:19 pm
Ward – congrats on the Giants win.
January 15th, 201210:22 pm
VABravesfan did a run down on the 25 man earlier on the blog. Unless the Braves plan on releasing Diaz or Hinske (or trading), I don’t think there’s room for two more players.
I think Jack Wilson is the utility man. Braves really need a competent back up to CF, unless Constanza is going to be the Master of that Domain.
Some one on the blog complained about getting Jack Wilson, and not signing a better SS,but why get a high priced back up if you only need him for 1year? Braves are deep in SS,and it doesn’t make sense to spend a lot of money on a back up SS. If your your only going to use him for 1year?
January 15th, 201210:23 pm
put my record up against yours any day coach, . I mean we are gonna afford Pierre as a part time player? you are still the greatest…class clown dude
January 15th, 201210:25 pm
Sopheee: Thanks, and it doesn’t get easier. The 49rs have a great D.Should be a heck of a game next weekend.
January 15th, 201210:26 pm
If the Ravens face the Niners in the SuperBowl, will anyone score any points? Maybe on defense they will.
January 15th, 201210:28 pm
Ward – congratulations on the Duke win…
I have a Cody Ross Siting instead of Pierre.Hope Wren, can sign him?
January 15th, 201210:29 pm
VJ- Good day all around?
January 15th, 201210:30 pm
VJ–Whom did Duke defeat? I have to admit that I have always been a fan of Duke. Beyond many close friends going there and teaching there, just have always liked the school.
January 15th, 201210:31 pm
abwright – I did very well this week talking about how i just hoped we’d stay close to the Packers – no trash-talking forthcoming this week, except to point out how the Niners are superior in every aspect of the game, except for third-string left offensive tackle…
January 15th, 201210:32 pm
Moe – they beat Clemson – not exactly hard to do, but they got off to such a bad start that Coach K pulled the starting five a few minutes into the game…
January 15th, 201210:33 pm
Chipper has never been more than a weak sister, utility infielder and he never will be.
Pierre sounds French…..we don’t need anyone who’s French on the team. A little humor.
January 15th, 201210:35 pm
David Ross is your back up catcher, Eric Hinske, will cover LF and 1st base while pinch hitting. Jack Wilson’s primarily a SS but can play 2B. Prado’s in LF unless Chipper needs the day off at 3B. Diaz isn’t a lock to make the team, but if he does Matty covers LF, RF and pinch hits. Constanza is quad A material, nothing more.
Simply put, Bourn doesn’t have a capable back up to play CF. Which is why I brought up Pierre’s name.
Heck, look at the depth chart. They have Constanza penciled in and the guy won’t even make the 25 roster out of spring training.
January 15th, 201210:36 pm
VJ–Well, maybe the starters just needed a night off. Sure their term is about to begin this week. Maybe they were worrying about their syllabi? (Far more likely that they were thinking about classes than Clemson’s starters. Sorry Wayne.)
January 15th, 201210:38 pm
Pierre sounds French…..we don’t need anyone who’s French on the team
Like Jason-Paul Pierre…
Methinks Meryl has been knocking a few back…
January 15th, 201210:40 pm
VJ- I’ll accept on the Giants though……
January 15th, 201210:48 pm
Well, talk tomorrow,and Peace ……….
January 15th, 201210:49 pm
Coach, I take it Constanza would back Bourn up in CF. See I’m just not crazy about the guy like some. He’s fast and can play a decent OF, but he still can’t hit other than that little streak thing he went on. I hope Wren doesn’t count on him this year other than pinch running or late defense replacement.
Clooney beats Billy Beane…and makes jokes about frontal unclothedness…
January 15th, 201210:52 pm
football isn’t bad enough now we are covering golden globes…at least it isn’t the oscar’s
Who the hell is, Jason-Paul Pierre, VJ??????
January 15th, 201210:54 pm
Braves ain’t signing Ross. I think Wren will sign a Mather type during or right before ST begins. Yippie … sounds exciting don’t it?
Does he make croissants?
January 15th, 201210:57 pm
So, I can’t type names in the appropriate order…
January 15th, 201210:58 pm
I work with Korean kids, not French…
January 15th, 201211:00 pm
Flipping over to the USC-UCLA game, looks like cab and her dad have left, as I do not see them in their seats…
January 15th, 201211:02 pm
Braves ain’t signing Ross
I just found this update…
On December 5, 2008, the Atlanta Braves signed David Ross to a two-year, $3 million deal.
On July 27, 2010, he signed a two-year extension to stay with the Braves through 2012
January 15th, 201211:03 pm
Coach coaches 6 year old girls T-ball.
January 15th, 201211:04 pm
Sorry, CTB – I am looking for absurd things to post…
January 15th, 201211:05 pm
Do they play for USC?
January 15th, 201211:08 pm
They could have done better (well, at ;east I could have)…
January 15th, 201211:09 pm
Good luck to you Giants’ fans in your future game(s).
I’m still hoping to find out who stole the Packers’ uniforms and played tonight. I don’t remember ever seeing them play so badly.
Tonight’s only the 2nd time in the last two seasons that I turned the TV off (or walked away, as I was at a friend’s house) before the game was over.
The only other time was last season, the 2nd or 3rd game, against the Bears. They set an NFL record for the most penalties. I turned the set off in the 4th quarter with the Packers still winning by 3 points. I couldn’t take anymore.
(They ended up losing by 3 points – either at the last few seconds or in OT. I don’t remember.)
They could have done better (well, at least I could have)…
Yeah that was a serious post, Jim. Not a laughing matter.
January 15th, 201211:10 pm
Tom – sorry that you had to rely on horrible calls to even have a chance – I was stunned at how well we played…
Okay. I have to meet a state Senator on Tuesday. While I want to respect his office, I also must be honest enough to admit that the office is just the state senate of New Jersey. Of course, I have lived in states where the state senate president’s brother–Whitey Bulger–was at the top of the FBI’s most wanted list. Or in states (Illinois) where the governor (Rod Blagojevich) was en route to federal prison. Do I need to worry about this? Or can I just show up and wing it?

Methinks Meryl has been knocking a few back…”
January 15th, 201211:13 pm
should have been “at yeast”…
what is the purpose of the meeting?
MIBravesFan–Completely agree. Meryl has earned the right to pretty much do whatever she wants.
that is, “at beast”…
January 15th, 201211:14 pm
VJ – you making bread?
I like at yeast better
January 15th, 201211:15 pm
Because drinking is a sinful and deplorable activity…
tiger–Have been having major difficulties with one particular state agency. When I set up the meeting, they were driving me crazy. In the meantime, I have smoothed over many (but not all) of the problems. Will keep the meeting and see if he can help me past the penultimate problems.
Only lowlife scum would do such a thing…
January 15th, 201211:16 pm
In other words, did you really think it bothered me?
Thanks, Moe. I’m pretty darn sure she is not driving! And it’s the Golden Globes, not the Oscars (as we were so totally informed at the beginning of the evening . . . .)
On my 3rd glass of wine after Irish whiskey and vodka during the game…
January 15th, 201211:17 pm
We all know that cannot be true. I remember getting absolutely pasted with a group of Jesuits years ago. They are the freaking Society of Jesus. Can’t be sinners there.
Wow – you must have really thought I was offended – I thought she was great…
Thought you knew me by now…
January 15th, 201211:18 pm

Because drinking is a sinful and deplorable activity…”
lol (I know Leo was in the room but he only played Hoover – and that took some very good acting!)
January 15th, 201211:19 pm
By the way, here’s Bruce last night:
January 15th, 201211:20 pm
man if I only had problems with one government agency I’d be happy…wait this is your discussion
I watched Charlie Wilson’s War last night so I say bring him a bottle of scotch but keep your ladies away from him
MIBravesFan–Yep. I am guessing that she does not have to drive. And even if she were the designated driver tonight, I bet she has the cash flow to enable her to call a cab.
Okay, favorite Meryl Streep role? I think that ‘Death Becomes Her’ has to be my least favorite. Probably ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’ or ‘Out of Africa’ would be towards my top. But she really is just exquisite in almost everything.
January 15th, 201211:21 pm
January 15th, 201211:22 pm
Wow – someone on Twitter just asked DOB if he’s a Nickelback fan…
January 15th, 201211:23 pm
tiger—What if you are more than fine with letting him have access to some of the ladies, just not certain ones?
Actually, there are two state and two federal agencies with whom I may be having potential work issues (may soon increase). But only one (of the current ones) seems insurmountable.
VJ – little one was walking through the house yesterday singing sweet caroline…pretty funny stuff
January 15th, 201211:24 pm
then you might get the solution to your problem expedited
January 15th, 201211:26 pm
so I’m looking at a Medlen jersey for the little one…anybody think that will cause an immediate trade?
January 15th, 201211:27 pm
Actual size will probably fit
Of course, I remember when Sweet Caroline was released as a single…
January 15th, 201211:28 pm
I loved “Out of Africa” for several reasons – the cinematography, the music, and the performances (including Redford’s )
January 15th, 201211:30 pm
Of course….1969 was a great year
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
jeffrey – I have one and it doesn’t…
January 15th, 201211:31 pm
and the other 1/2 won’t let me wear it
Exactly, no offense to the Braves loss to the eventual World Champions in the first-ever NLCS…
January 15th, 201211:32 pm
MIB – did you watch the Because the Night clip?…
It was just a “Medlen is short” joke
January 15th, 201211:34 pm
VJ – no, I’m a little leery of clicking on links, still.
January 15th, 201211:38 pm
Tom – sorry that you had to rely on horrible calls to even have a chance – I was stunned at how well we played… — Venice Jim
The call on the Jennings fumble was a joke. What the hell was the referee looking at? You said, “calls”. That’s the only one I remember.
Unless, there was another one in the last 5 minutes of the game. I left after Ryan Grant fumbled the ball in the 4th quarter – with around 5-6 minutes left in the game. I couldn’t take anymore, and the game was out of reach by then.
The Giants played well. They didn’t make too many mistakes. However, the Packers made the Giants’ defense look pretty good, too. I felt the Packers could move the ball with no problem. It was HOLDING on to the ball that was the problem.
Most of the Packers’ drives were thwarted by their own mistakes. Maybe they had too much time off?
Anyway, I’ve got to go. Good night.
I know and my response was just an elitist I’m special and already have one
I have a picture of the little one (actually used to be my twitpic) in med’s jersey and it goes all the way to the floor-pretty funny actually
Just YouTube – you could search YouTube for Bruce and Joe Grushecky on 1/14/12…
January 15th, 201211:40 pm
C MATT KENNELLY [.278 BA] 1-4, 1 SO.
PH DONEL LINARES [.189 BA] 1-1, 1 2B .
JAIRO ASENCIO [5.14 ERA] 1.2 IP, 2 H, zeros, 1 BB, 1 SO, 8 BF, 3 GO/ 0 AO.
DH ERNESTO MEJIA [.275 BA] 0-3, 1 BB, 3 SO.
January 15th, 201211:41 pm
Soriano looks a lot older than he claims to be, more like hes in his mid forties.
January 15th, 201211:43 pm
Alfonso or MFIKY?
January 15th, 201211:44 pm
Tom – if it makes you feel any better (which I know it won’t) but it occurred to me that the guy featured in the State Farm ads that I’ve had to see so often I got sick of them for his touchdown move hadn’t played for 3 weeks. Perhaps he should have played that last Sunday of the regular season instead of “Mighty Flynn.”
And remember – I said nothing after the Kansas City game. I did not say a word.
January 15th, 201211:45 pm
oops, this page
Tom – the other call was the “Hit to the Helmet” which kept the drive alive which resulted in the 2nd TD – even old QB Troy thought it was awful (there was a good 6 inch gap between Osi and Aaron’s helmet)…
I agree, your guys dropped way too many, and I was totally amazed on a couple of occasions when Rodgers missed wide open guys…definitely feel fortunate…
#RedSox are maintaining active dialogue with free agent Roy Oswalt, sources said Sunday.
January 15th, 201211:47 pm
David Ross, Eric Hinske and Jack Wilson are penciled into the Braves bench. Two bench spots are still open.
January 15th, 201211:50 pm
Aaron Rodgers had one bad day at the office. Unfortunately for Packers fans everywhere it just happened to be in the playoffs.
January 15th, 201211:52 pm
when its sleepy time down south…..
VJ – Played it. Bruce plays a pretty damn good guitar, doesn’t he?
January 15th, 201211:54 pm
He definitely does – very cool to get a clip the day after it happened…
January 16th, 201212:12 am
