Almost gametime Peanut needs out in rain before game, Have a good one or two today y’all.
January 8th, 201212:54 pm
I’ll have a good 2. Thanks, George
Ignore that G
January 8th, 201212:55 pm
Yes we shall, George.
I’m over due to be right about something
January 8th, 20121:00 pm
My skin still crawls when I think about The Exorcist. Read this link to get some insight into it.
January 8th, 20121:05 pm
Bat I read that you got an Ipad. You are gonna love it
January 8th, 20121:11 pm
Braves should offer Ron Mahay a minor league contract with an invite.
January 8th, 20121:15 pm
I really like so far. I’ve killed the battery now. It seemed to last pretty well
January 8th, 20121:16 pm
DS1 I am real interested in Robert Fish. Braves are real high on him and he has to make the team and stay all year or dum da da dum
January 8th, 20121:18 pm
The battery is a problem of sorts til you figure it out. I keep mine connected to the walk charger when at home and make sure I have a 199% charge before I leave the house
January 8th, 20121:19 pm
Lmao 100% charge. Got to watch auto correct like a hawk
January 8th, 20121:20 pm
Don’t know much about Fish Patio? Looks like he is a strikeout pitcher.
I figured out would be best to completely kill it the first time
January 8th, 20121:22 pm
Exciting game so far. Really don’t know much about either team. I’ve always liked Eli, but it’s hard not to pull for an Atlanta team.
Bet if Murphy had retired in ‘89 or ‘90 then his chances at getting in the HOF would be greater. His stats took a hit, average wise anyways, from ‘88-’93. But he was so good for so long I really don’t know how he shouldn’t eventually get in anyways.
January 8th, 20121:23 pm
We have to run the ball to be effective, so why the hell are we passing so much?
January 8th, 20121:25 pm
As much as I love Murph as a person and a player, he isn’t going to get the kind of boost in votes to get him close.
I’d vote for him, but I certainly understand why some voters don’t.
If the Braves keep Fish and not give him back to the Angels the bullpen will look like this
Vizcaino or Vavaro
January 8th, 20121:28 pm
“We have run the ball to be effective, so why the hell are we passing so much”
I don’t understand. You mean Heyward is screwing up passing the baseball to the cut off man again? “Run the ball” I don’t get, but the passing part, and I assume you mean Heyward there, does make some sense.
January 8th, 20121:31 pm
Sorry, I know which blog I’m on, but I like to hang out in familiar neighborhoods.
January 8th, 20121:33 pm
My poor wife. Can’t cook worth a sh**. Even this tuna sandwich tastes worse than a tonsil stone.
January 8th, 20121:35 pm
No need to be sorry, Powder. You do what you do. You do it so well my friend.
I hope a tonsil stone is easier to pass than a kidney stone.
January 8th, 20121:37 pm
Go for it?
Big decision here…
January 8th, 20121:38 pm
I’d go for it………..
January 8th, 20121:39 pm
Go for it!
January 8th, 20121:40 pm
Powder,oh yes. They just smell a lot worse is all.
Nice job not to jump…
January 8th, 20121:41 pm
Uh oh. Bad spot
“Go for it” Rocky 5 … pretty underrated movie IMO.
Oh, boo. So close.
January 8th, 20121:42 pm
I sure thought he had it……….. but it’s hard to know from TV land.
January 8th, 20121:43 pm
“Uh oh. Bad spot.”
Tell me about it, Bat. Ya know, I can’t tell her it’s a bad sandwich, but I also don’t want to eat it. Bad spot I’m in indeed.
Giants’ offense trying to prepare us mentally for tomorrow night’s game…
January 8th, 20121:44 pm
Go ahead, Falcons D!
January 8th, 20121:45 pm
Woo hoo. 2 points
So, I guess the Falcons only lose a point not kicking the FG…
Hell yes! We’ll take the two!
January 8th, 20121:46 pm
You think so, Jim. You must like marital drama my friend. Not me, gotta keep things low key to help prevent stress in the relationship.
Feed it to the dog,CTB
January 8th, 20121:47 pm
CTB – very impressive job of comment-inversion – I might have to hit you with some random ones to test your mettle…
January 8th, 20121:48 pm
If you aren’t willing to get up and make your own sandwich, you’d better eat the one she made for you and be grateful.
January 8th, 20121:50 pm
Thank God we’re not going for it again…
January 8th, 20121:51 pm
“Feed it to the dog”
Sure Bat, but I love my dog.
Venice, one of them days. Tomorrow might not be such a good one. nolie and Lew do call me a moody little bi*** at times.
January 8th, 20121:52 pm
My thoughts exactly, Wayne.
January 8th, 20121:53 pm
DS1, I just unloaded a 1,125 piece truck that only took me and my little crew 4 hours to unload. She got out of bed when I got home. Plus she said she wanted to cook for a change.
I’d vote for him, but I certainly understand why some voters don’t. DS1
Murph for example, is why it’s so necessary to not judge someone exclusively on their stats.
January 8th, 20121:57 pm
CTB – She cooked a tuna fish sandwich? There lies the problem…
January 8th, 20121:58 pm
Don’t worry about the mule, just load the wagon!
My point is still valid.
You’re either trying too hard to be funny, or you’re an ungrateful sumbeach.
January 8th, 20121:59 pm
Yeah, Murph was elite in many ways.
I do want to thank that 6′9″, 300 lbs truck driver who helped me with heavy furniture boxes this morning. I tell you that was one big dude. Never stood next to a person that huge in my life. He wasn’t shy when I asked his height when he just had to mention he was 300 lbs. Showoff
January 8th, 20122:00 pm
They’ll go for it with Jacobs.
Dang, closer than I thought so it will be a QB sneak.
January 8th, 20122:01 pm
Ahh, Wayne is just a lonely little piss ant living in his lonely little world out in Utah. Old geezer.
January 8th, 20122:02 pm
That drive was marginally better than the previous ones…
Well that’s how you do it on fourth down
January 8th, 20122:05 pm
Season long runs by Manning and Jacobs on that drive.
January 8th, 20122:06 pm
Fast first half so far
January 8th, 20122:08 pm
What is the likelyhood of obtaining Izturiz? I’ve been lobby for this guy for some time. To get one of their young OF would be nice too.
January 8th, 20122:09 pm
Cry me a river, will ya………..
January 8th, 20122:14 pm
What a bounce!
January 8th, 20122:23 pm
Color me confused by. The clock management
January 8th, 20122:25 pm
No – I called you a WHINY Little Bitch.
cab immediately wondered why no TO there…
Lousy coaching on both sides to end the half.
January 8th, 20122:29 pm
Stupid clock management.
THIS JUST IN
January 8th, 20122:35 pm
THE BRAVES, STILL HAVEN’T MADE A TRADE.
January 8th, 20122:37 pm
It’s so hard to know exactly what FW is thinking concerning the Braves. He say in Nov that Pastornicky is not ready. Then when no moves are made he says he’s OK with him at SS.
To be honest, I really don’t think he’s showing his hand. I really think that he is saying what he wants other GM’s to hear. Which is exactly what he should be doing.
Now folks on here want to give him a hard time for changing the story, but he’s only protecting his position.
Kinda like giving BC a hard time in years past for not throwing his players under the bus.
So yes, he could be involved with the Angels on a deal for Izturis and maybe others. But unless DOB gets some indication from some other source, we probably won’t know until the deal is done.
January 8th, 20122:38 pm
THIS JUST IN
Comma management is still a lost art.
January 8th, 20122:44 pm
THERE IS NO LIKELIHOOD OF ANYTHING HAPPENING.
January 8th, 20122:45 pm
aww, Lew. You did? Like I care what you think of me, senior. Does somebody get a high in life if faceless bloggers, who you more than likely will never meet, think of you. Or what they perceive of you by what you write on a blog I should say. You don’t know me senior.
If this game ends with just two points on the board for us, I probably won’t be able to listen to sports radio for a whole year. It’ll be cuckoo bananas for a long time.
braves traded lowe in the first week of the offseason. cant say they haven’t made a trade.
January 8th, 20122:46 pm
We’re not going to end up with 2 points. Quit Talking to Tomahawkin
January 8th, 20122:48 pm
Pardon my skepticism.
January 8th, 20122:49 pm
If we end up with under 10 points, I’ll change the D in jeffrey d to “Doo Doo” for the next year
January 8th, 20122:50 pm
Some love for ex-Braves from Tyler Kepner in the NY Times:
Several other holdovers would be worthy additions to Cooperstown. Jack Morris, a postseason stalwart, belongs there. So do sluggers like Fred McGriff, Mark McGwire and Edgar Martinez, and players who could beat you on the bases, in the field and at the plate, like Jeff Bagwell, Dale Murphy and Tim Raines.
Repeated for emphasis
January 8th, 20122:51 pm
Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt
January 8th, 20122:52 pm
Same old, same old.
Third and long against the Falcons. No problem
January 8th, 20122:53 pm
Is it doo doo, or do do?
It is pretty confusing with the whole Pastornicky situation. First he says he isn’t ready and they’d like a veteran stop gap starter. Then changes and says he’s gonna be our starter and we wanna add a veteran backup at Shortstop. Then alot of time passes as we watch guy our options come off the board. Now it really seems like were going with a the rookie and some minor league shortstop for a backup.
Then were counting on bounce back seasons from Prado and Heyward. Also knowing Prado will be playing a good amount of 3rd base Wren seems content with Diaz/Constanza as our backups….Wren has been in love with Seth Smith most of the offseason and a CF prospect. But Prado was the name mentioned most to leave…..How would that improve our team? Also I guess we have a 0% chance of keeping Bourn too.
Good luck with that, doo doo.
January 8th, 20122:54 pm
Does it seem like the announcers are a little pro-Giants?
January 8th, 20122:55 pm
Tomahawkin gets bashed on here a lot, but at least he has the right idea of this place. It’s a silly little Braves blog. If somebody takes this thing seriously, or gets offended by what a faceless blogger writes then it really is sad. Poor bloggers like Lew can’t seem to have any fun with this thing because they’re too busy trying to educate others on how “whiny”, “dumb” etc, etc. they are. Life must really be dull for them. Makes me in a way.
January 8th, 20122:57 pm
Phillies might bolster the pen more, they have interest in Kerry Wood.
January 8th, 20122:58 pm
DS1, you need a pillow and a bed and take your diarrhea pill. You sound full of the squirts, senior.
January 8th, 20122:59 pm
Is it doo doo, or do do? — DS1
I don’t know, any 8-year-olds on the blog who can answer that question?
Much of it is probably a smoke screen. And are you really going to pass judgment before all the off season moves are made?
Any discussion about what we need or what we don’t need are purely academic at this point. We really won’t know how the roster is truly set up until
A) It’s near the end of spring training, after all players are evaluated……….. or
B) After we make a 2-3 deals and FW declares he is finished dealing.
Considering he has only made 1 trade and add a few lesser players, it’s really too early to decide anything.
But I am not puzzled by his comments on Pastornicky. He is saying what other folks need to hear.
January 8th, 20123:00 pm
How about a TD drive. Is that too much to ask?
January 8th, 20123:03 pm
Come on, Matty – get it together already.
January 8th, 20123:04 pm
If I say anything more, I’m just going to hurt your feelings. So, I’ll just leave you alone now.
January 8th, 20123:05 pm
Was that 10 points, or over 10 points?
Hey, I’m pulling for you buddy!
January 8th, 20123:06 pm
Not a particularly good penalty…
