Terdoslavich, Pastornicky, Uggla
And entire future infield of guys whose names resemble the sound of a hard sneeze or cough.

Rangers need a starting pitcher. We have Jair Jurrgens.
From Yahoo sports :
The Texas Rangers are keeping busy right now trying to find a trade that will bring them a starting pitcher rather than throwing all energy into getting Prince Fielder or Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish, Fox Sports reports.
Some of the arms that the Rangers are looking at include Matt Garza of the Chicago Cubs, lefty Gio Gonzalez of the Oakland Athletics and Wade Davis of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Best of luck to Brooks Conrad; the guy played hard every time out and you could tell he wanted to make the most of an opportunity that was over a decade in the making (toiling in the minors). My heart ached for him during that 3-error game in the NLCS; as frustrating as it was from a fan’s perspective, I knew it had to be eating at him many times worse, and I appreciate that level of caring in a player.
As for Moylan, he may or may not return, but if not I wish him the best as well; he’s given the Braves a lot more good outings than bad ones, and when he was on he was as shut-down as anybody.
December 14th, 20116:22 pm
We really don’t need two more players who have 320 OBP, do we?
.Everybody hated Francouer but Jones is Jeff as a hitter and a rather poor defender too.
December 14th, 20116:23 pm
I love the team we have now. We will have bourn for the whole year. We have the best bull pin in baseball. A very good rotation. If we can score a few runs we can beat any team any day. Go Braves. Also cant wait to see t-mac in a Hawks uni so call me a homer.
Tom Glavine announcing in 2013 : “Terd is stinking it up right now with those 3 errors he committed this game.”
December 14th, 20116:24 pm
shut down righties anyway. really terrible against lefties. a ROOGY I guess.
What about Jurrjens to the Rangers for Leonys Martin (speedy CF prospect) and Mike Olt (RH 3B prospect with some pop).
Jurrjens would project well in Arlington. They need as many groundball pitchers as they can find in that bandbox.
Lou/Earl is getting all bent out of shape pretty badly as the day has gone on. I imagine that sometime later tonight, the meltdown will progress to the point of banning – just like it always does when he finds a new municipal library to post from.
December 14th, 20116:25 pm
I could picture it now like McCann had the Cans or Randy wolf had the wolfpac maybe Terdoslavich can turn Turner field into the toilet bowl?????? eh >crickets< ok
December 14th, 20116:26 pm
What’s up with all the tattoos on Moylan. I’m sure his grand kids are gonna want to be seen out in public with him 20 years from now…
December 14th, 20116:28 pm
I’d be on the phone right now with the Rangers if I were Wren.
December 14th, 20116:31 pm
I’d tell people my name was pronounced Teroslavich if I were him. the “D” is silent !
don , kisss my a.%%$^
good trade prado and jj for jones and hardy
December 14th, 20116:33 pm
I agree nelson.
Brave New World
December 14th, 20116:34 pm
Since we are comparing Jason Heyward to others, try this:
Heyward (age 20): 18 HR; 72 RBI; .277 BA; .393 OBP
Heyward (age 21): 14 HR; 42 RBI; .227 BA; .319 OBP
Mays (age 20): 20 HR; 68 RBI; .274 BA; .356 OBP
Mays (age 21): 4 HR; 23 RBI; .236 BA; .326 OBP
Willie had some monster years after that modest start. Might be a good idea to wait and see what Jason does over the next few years.

December 14th, 20116:35 pm
I wish MLB had cheerleaders.
December 14th, 20116:36 pm
Since 2008, Jurrjens has a 16.5% K rate paired with 8.2% walk rate. His ground ball rate is a less than sterling 44.7%. The only other right-handed starting pitchers with similar rates over that same time frame are Mike Pelfry and Jon Garland. Hardly standout group of hurlers
December 14th, 20116:38 pm
Yeah, and compare him to Joe Charboneau the one year wonder too. Let’s see, he struck out a ton last year. Just like Terry Harper did. I’ll base his career on what I see not what’s projected.
Terrible if Braves trade JJ and Prado for Hardy and Adam Jones. Way too much money and I belive A. Jones is a downgrade in our outfield. Prado in LF is better than A. Jones in LF. We have Bourn in CF…JJ Hardy cost $7Millon.
If Braves are going to spend that much they should get Beltran and keep JJ and Prado. Beltran/Prado/Jurrjens is much beeter than Hardy /Adam Jones, Braves might not be able to afford, but a much better team.
December 14th, 20116:39 pm
pretty funny series of posts there nerd. good job.
Waste Of Money
December 14th, 20116:40 pm
Can we get Mike Hampton to pitch batting practice for free all year then pick up hot dog wrappers ?
He got paid millions to sit on the bench for 4 years.
Prado better OPS in LF not defense, wasn’t clear in post above
December 14th, 20116:41 pm
I guess the grass is always greener over yonder.
December 14th, 20116:42 pm
Beltran stays injured too much.
December 14th, 20116:45 pm
he had two injured years followed by plenty of games played. His overall history is not really one of missing a lot of games
I actually think maybe our biggest need is Bull-pen depth
December 14th, 20116:50 pm
I’m not Lew dont insult me like that you gizzstain
December 14th, 20116:52 pm
“I wish MLB had cheerleaders.”
The Marlins do, and they are some of the hottest ladies in SoFla – which is saying quite a lot!
December 14th, 20116:53 pm
Sorry… it’s this one.
Waste Of Money
December 14th, 2011
Beltran stays injured too much.
NO not really… Between 2001 and 2008 Beltran played in at least 140 games each season. That’s 9 out of the past 11 years that Beltran has played at least 140 games. That is very dependable.
In 2012 Beltran has bad knees which limited him to only 81 and 64 games in 09 and 10. Beltran in LF Chipper at 3rd and Prado giving both plenty of rest will be much more productive that Adam ( Francoeur) Jones and JJ Hardy.
If Braves can’t afford Beltran or don’t want to gamble on his knees being healty than that is one thing, but Trading JJ and Prado for Adam Jones and Hardy is a terrible trade
December 14th, 20116:56 pm
The Cardinals are nearing a one-year deal with free agent left-hander J.C. Romero, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter). MDR Sports Management represents the reliever.
Romero becoming another Dotel
December 14th, 20116:58 pm
Gizzstain? nice comeback Lew/J-Mam/Lou/Earl how can you use Lou twice anyways Lou, Lew whats your next post name gonna be Loo?
I see that idiot brought along a couple of alter egos again. How desperate must one be to resort to that crap for fun. Have to feel real bad for him even if he is a jerk
December 14th, 20116:59 pm
I would be worried for any cheerleaders because of foul balls.
December 14th, 20117:00 pm
I don’t ever have a problem with people criticizing and showing their passion for wanting things better.. that’s what we all want. Just put a little of realism in it. I shake my head when I hear.. we didn’t make a trade TODAY so we are not doing anything,,Wren didn’t pull a trade today so he doesn’t want to make the team better etc…. or why can’t Wren trade for this superstar or that superstar.. come on Wren trade Diaz for Matt Kemp… yes that is a bit of an exaggeration but not too far. Remember on a trade, it takes TWO.
December 14th, 20117:05 pm
foul balls? You mean like they’d get the clap?
December 14th, 20117:06 pm
I am not worked up because they didn’t sign Punto, I am worked up because they haven’t done a damn thing at all since the season ended. This team has plenty of weaknesses, why haven’t they done a damn thing to address them? That is what I am pissed about. Sick of supporting a team that does nothing.
December 14th, 20117:07 pm
I’d be glad to watch over the cheerleaders in the clubhouse.
What exactly did useless Moylan and Conman expect?
Glad to see them gone.
December 14th, 20117:09 pm
I can handle LF. I guarantee you .235 6 19. You got my word on that.
December 14th, 20117:10 pm
The last world series game was October 28th.
Pitchers and catchers report to spring training on February 19th.
It is now December 14th.
We only have 2 months and 5 days before players report. I can see why the team should be in such a hurry to get something done.
December 14th, 20117:13 pm
What exactly did useless Moylan and Conman expect?
Where did either one say they expected anything? And Peter was actually pretty good when not fighting injury…
December 14th, 20117:16 pm
LOL – DOB, depends on what you like. The variety is there, and they are pretty & plenty hot. Haven’t been to a game, refuse to do so, but they appeared at a promotional event this year at a local Blue Martini, and they were smokin’! They were selling their calendar, and while a phtog can make anyone look good, their bods were off the meter!
Yep, saw ‘em up close… and liked what I saw. They can eat crackers on my bed a-ny-time!
Peter was great against righties and terrible against lefties. no middle ground
December 14th, 20117:18 pm
How many big trades happen after the 1st of the year but before spring training? I’m sure there have been plenty, but none come to mind.
Not sure why but I usually assume the team that we start the new year with is pretty much the team that goes to spring training. That perception may be why so many are getting antsy… just doesn’t seem to be much that happens around the league after Jan 1.
December 14th, 20117:19 pm
Clearly you’ve never seen them up close.
So, we’re saying cheerleaders, baseball players…same level of acumen?
December 14th, 20117:23 pm
Jones would be a nice piece to the puzzle. 26 y.o. on opening day. Plus, he should be heading into his prime years. He’s got good size. 6′3 and 220. 21 HR average the last 3 years. Former GG winner. RH hitter with good power potential.
December 14th, 20117:25 pm
Jones’ gold glove was on the same level as Nate’s was I’m afraid.
December 14th, 20117:33 pm
At least not pre-game. After 9 innings and 7 gallons of beer…
December 14th, 20117:35 pm
Here they are… very few close up shots.
December 14th, 20117:47 pm
A few yrs ago Wren made it public that they were after Jake Peavy.. many on here complained about FW showing his hand. He doesn’t know what he is doing.. he should not show his hand etc… He took a lot of heat about not getting that done.. and walking away.. Sometimes the best move is not making the move. Now when Frank W does not let us all know exactly who he is talking to or has not pulled the trigger yet, many get all freaked out.
December 14th, 20117:51 pm
In this age of Blog/Twitter over analysis, Mandy is now tweeting Heather…
@Heatherfish “Hey, Babe!!! Here’s a link to that AJC prick’s blog…Love ya!” 5 minutes ago.
@Mandyfish “Do I have a zit?” 12 seconds ago.
Meltdown’s getting closer.
December 14th, 20117:54 pm
Thank you, TNPaul. Your opinion, sir: are they as bad “up close” as Mr. O’Brien would have you believe?

December 14th, 20118:00 pm
Adam Jones bats right handed but can’t hit lefties. In 2011, Adam Jones had a .665 OPS vs. LHP. In contrast, Nick Swisher had a .957 OPS vs. LHP and Carlos Quentin had a .943 OPS vs. LHP.
Bye Bye Petey
December 14th, 20118:13 pm
“Cedeno still available in the backup SS/utility mold. He’s been on their list as well.”
Hope the Braves can do the Cedeno deal. I remember him coming through time after time when called on to fill in!
Well maybe I don’t really remember that.
Conrad left one year too late… He should be thankful he got another year in the majors last year…
December 14th, 20118:15 pm
He should be thankful he got another year in the majors last year…
I’m sure he is. Seemed very thankful judging by the comments in the blog story…
December 14th, 20118:19 pm
Wow now folks want another brokendown. Over
December 14th, 20118:25 pm
Brava: the Baked Punto Beans would’ve fit in well alongside the Freemen’s Seamen fan crew.
December 14th, 20118:28 pm
cabravesfan @7:13pm………Please do not feed the trolls.
December 14th, 20118:29 pm
So what up blog peeps?
December 14th, 20118:34 pm
Bye bye, Brooksie & Moylo. It was up and down at times but best wishes to both.
December 14th, 20118:35 pm
I wonder how high the roof is on that Fish Market, that the Marlins are building(or is it, having built for them)?
Looks like a lot of balls are going to hit the ceiling with the roof closed.

December 14th, 20118:37 pm
No, No say it ain’t so! braves announcers said they were great players!
December 14th, 20118:41 pm
Beltran?really’ just what the Braves need another broken down overpaid bum.
December 14th, 20118:45 pm
Yankees, Mariners, Blue Jays, Rangers, Cubs and Giants placed bids on Yu Darvish.
December 14th, 20118:50 pm
M’s, Rangers and Giants prob front runner as he has a west coast preference.
December 14th, 20118:52 pm
Chris – It doesn’t matter what his preference is, the team selects the highest $$$ bid.
Drop the Carlos Beltran speculation. There’s way too much interest in that guy– see: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/rumors/post/Rockies-signing-Carlos-Beltran-;_ylt=Aor1KGnwz3J55TetUVJWJU0RvLYF?urn=mlb-wp262.
The Braves/Wren have shown that they don’t get into bidding wars (at least, not recently). Perfect example is the Hunter Pence / Michael Bourne trades over the summer. Everybody was after Pence (and people speculated that the Braves were after Pence); but it was a charade– the Braves were after Bourne all along.
I think we can expect an off- the-beaten track move from Wren. The Orioles rumors seem close to the truth to me. That kind of came out of nowhere, right? I suspect that’s where we’ll see a trade happen, if one does happen.
But Beltran– too many people are interested. Forget it.
December 14th, 20118:54 pm
ryan reynolds got himself covered in tattoos so that “you could get a good idea of my beliefs and stuff.” anybody else get a jesse pinkman vibe off of him?
December 14th, 20118:58 pm
agree Beltran will end up with Rockies, Red Sox, are NYY.
Yes, Wren will come out of the South riding a big White horse with Thunder and fire.
December 14th, 20119:04 pm
December 14th, 20119:08 pm
Oh OK. I am unfamiliar with these kind of rules.
December 14th, 20119:09 pm
Whose your choice for the Braves?
December 14th, 20119:17 pm
J C Brave: “Is Jim Bowden mentally retarded or just an ignorant idiot?”.
If that’s the case, he would fit right in around here, there’s been a lot of “and idiots” on here the past few days.
December 14th, 20119:24 pm
Twins still in on Cuddyer. If they sign him, maybe they trade Denard Span for a pitcher. Jurrjens for Span?
December 14th, 20119:27 pm
No. Guy’s got no power, a bad OPS and why did he only play 70 games last year?
December 14th, 20119:30 pm
rechingball: def. higher than The Trop in Tampa, where old Mr. Smith had fewer balls hitting the side of his house than pop-up’s hitting the ceiling when the Rays played. Looks like a nice place to play ball, but The Fed is down here to investigate the shennanigansthat went on in building this travesty. The great grand children of folks living down here will still be paying for that tax crime of a white elephant. I hope they find those responsible guilty and hang ‘em high – at the stadium, where I will buy a ticket for that event, the only ticket I will buy.
December 14th, 20119:46 pm
If Cedeño can catch and throw within the zip code of what Gonzo did, then get ‘im, and plug ‘im in the 8-hole – or nine if Huddy is pitching. I want someone who can catch & throw the ball extremely well; the Braves are not going to find a good hitting SS that can field competently in trade w/o giving up the farm.
December 14th, 201110:10 pm
Man this place died out early tonight.
December 14th, 201110:14 pm
Any chance at all to get someone like Trumbo from the Halos now that they got Albert?? That would be a trade I would be all for and could probably just give up prospects since their rotation is set and so is their lineup.
They have a crowded OF with big contracts that are not likely to move and the top prospect in Trout. So why not move an attractive piece to get prospects. I feel something could get done and am surprised more trade rumors have not surfaced yet with them since their big FA signings
December 14th, 201110:15 pm
Kenny Rosenthal reported that Gonzo’s deal with Milwaukee is for $4 million in 2012 with a $4.25 million option for ‘13 that vests with 525 plate appearances, something he’s done each of the past two seasons.
He made $2.5 mill last season with the Braves.
December 14th, 201110:17 pm
I see that P’c
December 14th, 201110:19 pm
Hows it going? I guess everyone had enough of the Adam Jones speculation today.
December 14th, 201110:20 pm
makes sense I guess. he is definitely a better option than most of the other guys who have been getting 2 year/4-6 million contracts.
December 14th, 201110:28 pm
I guess the Braves felt more comfortable with Pastornicky over gonzalez heading into 2012 seeming he was only projected to make 3 to 3.5 mil through arbitration. He got about what the market has been this year. They must have felt there was a good chance he would take arbitration.
December 14th, 201110:29 pm
No games scheduled.
PH BRAIHAIM MALDONADO [.156 BA] 0-0, 1 BB.
DH STEFAN GARTRELL [.205 BA] 0-2, 1 RBI , 1 SO. top of the fifth.
No BRAVES played thru six.
C JOSE YEPEZ [.212 BA] 1-2, 1 SO. Bottom of the seventh
No game scheduled.
pretty good P’c, how ’bout you?
and yeah I burned out on that a good while ago. I’m not a big Jones fan though he is one of the better hitting CFers. I think his slugging would come down some at the Ted and Bill James shows him as a very poor defensive CFer the last three years.
Hardy is ok, though neither gets on base very well, but will the Braves really wanna spend 21 mil on a SS now?
December 14th, 201110:35 pm
I got un-burned out, huh?
December 14th, 201110:44 pm
And there goes Nick Punto. Thank you, God!
December 14th, 201110:45 pm
how did AGon double his salary after this past year’s performance? Not quite understanding baseball economics at this time
Steve from OH
December 14th, 201110:46 pm
Gotta love baseball. Post a .270 OBP and get a 2MM raise…
December 14th, 201110:47 pm
Jones won’t happen anyways. It was already written a Orioles person said JJ by himself is not even close to enough to get Jones. That would hopefullly be Wren’s cue to leave.
December 14th, 201110:49 pm
wasn’t just about Gonzo, he held off till a buncha lesser guys were getting two year deals for 2-3 mil per, and since he was better than most of them he got more. I think he played that well. I also think that the Braves figured from the start that he would get noticeably more than 2.5 per which is why they made no effort.
December 14th, 201110:50 pm
I’m doing pretty good. Busy already getting stuff set up for my boys next summer. I like Jones but don’t find him worth both JJ and Prado. I think he’d be fine here but the jury is still out to see how he develops. He has the capabilities to hit over .800 OPS if he matures into a more full hitter. I’m not sold we are going to find anything better than what we have now. I don’t follow the metrics to much so but I know I’ve seen Jones make plays that will make your jaw drop.
Punto won’t knock your socks off but when it comes to the defensive SS that were available FA he was probably the best available all around gamer.
December 14th, 201110:51 pm
Middle infield market is pretty high right now. Punto landed a $3 million dollar contract after making $750K last year.
December 14th, 201110:52 pm
JC Brave, well then who do you think they’ll get for a stop gap to TP at short? Doesn’t seem anything better than Punto is coming here anyways.
