The only thing I find that is consistent with the NFL match-ups, is that they’re consistently, inconsistent.
The only game I wasn’t too concerned about the Packers losing, this year, was against the Bucs. Yeah, they almost lost it. You just never know, you know?

According to Heyman the Reyes bidding is down to Mets and Marlins. Braves, Brewers and others out. I guess the Braves did their due diligence and checked in on him but I doubt it went much further than that.

To be honest with you, it wouldn’t shock me at all for the Chiefs to beat the Packers and then lose every other game on the schedule. Sometimes facing the previous year’s SB winner for a losing team is their only real shot at making a statement. Packers might be trying to rest guys, team like KC starting to play young guys fighting for a possible job next year?
It’s like playing a team with a ton of September callups. Basically nothing to lose. Classic “trap” game.
But since the best I have to offer is Tyler Palko or Kyle Orton? Probably not too many Packers defenders shaking in their boots.

this is why I never fully commit to the Niners winning any game they play. This week they have the 2-9 Rams, with the division title on the line. The Rams have one of the worst rush defenses in the league and Frank Gore is 6th in rushing. This game is SCREAMING Trap Game at me…

Ha,ha. No, but you’re right about, their only real shot at making a statement. After having a poor season, that game against Green Bay will be the Chiefs’ Super Bowl game.

I did 2…but no longer. I did watch the arkansas game. My oldest was in town for thanksgiving and wanted to watch it. I think it is the last full game I’ve watched since BCS Championship in 2008 (is that the right year?)

The epitome of inconsistency, IMO, has been the Giants this year. Just ask VJ… or Ward. Until their loss against the Saints, it seemed as though they couldn’t beat the bad teams, yet, they always played well against the good teams. Go figure.

By Bayou Bengals, I assume you mean LSU. And if you mean LSU, then what happened to the 2003 and 2007 national championships? I’d say LSU has been very good for the last 10 years after some rough times in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Yes, there is that (easier schedule), cabravesfan. But I believe your team is much better balanced, than the Saints. The 49ers defense is pretty much about the best in the NFL, this year.

LSU’s football issues are what prompted me to extend my stay at said university…they went to a bowl game my freshman year and then started playing poorly so I said I’ll stay until they go back to a bowl game. Then I stayed a couple more seasons just to enjoy the fun. 1997 vs. florida was probably the best football game I’ve ever attended.

Two things – A) I look at MLBTradeRumors everyday for like a second and spend hours on this blog. DOB kicks a** and the people on this blog, although not all that bright, are danged entertaining!!!
B) The 49ers do NOT suck, they are 9-2 and soon to be 10-2. They will make the playoffs and they are one of two or three teams that are actually built to be able to beat the Packers in Lambeau. Before you all tell me I’m crazy think about it, they have a great Defense and a great running attack. Both of those you need to compete at Lambeau in January… Just think about it before you tell me I’m nuts. Alex Smith spends a few more years in the same system with Harbaugh and he will become a really good QB. Count on it..

You are killing me, I was looking at an ESPN article on the three ways to fix the teams in the NL East and all these fans are saying the Marlins are going to take 2nd to the Phils because of all the money they are spending. They haven’t signed anyone yet, that I’ve seen (and I just looked on MLBTRADERUMORS and MLB.COM). Until someone signs a Check no one is locked up.

Tomahawkin – I’ve got to disagree, the Chipmunks Christmas I’ve been listening to every winter since I was like 10 and still love it. My 3 year old loves it too! She much prefers that to XM sports in the morning on the way to preschool.

I’ve been a Niners fan as long as I’ve been a Braves fan. One of my earliest memories is watching the Monday Night game that Montana came back to San Francisco. My boss is a huge fan too, for Christmas I got him a signed 8×10 with Montana and Rice. He’s going to flip out

I don’t love it, but it reminds me of all the great memories when I was younger. I’m personally a bigger fan of an acapella group one of my childhood friends belongs to, they are pretty good for singing more traditional songs.

With the Marlins getting Johnson back, the Mets getting Santana back plus the Nats loading up and getting better and even if the Phils stay the same PLUS a tougher interleague schedule AND the lack of leadership from Gene Mauch Gonzalez, look for 5-10 fewer wins next season.
Unless, of course Wren pulls a significant move. But ‘12 isn’t shaping up well.

wow, dave sure cranked it up on the macc thing. my opinion if it matters, macc holds the same value that tex had in texas.
if we fall out of the race early his value will escalate. hope that does not happen, but if it does there will plenty of teams knocking at the doors.
gotta say with the payroll we have if we pay macc going forward more than 12 million it would not be prudent.
if i was brian’s agent i would hold out. his value long term is in the AL.

Also from Knobler (via Twitter), the Rockies turned down the Braves’ offer of Martin Prado in exchange for outfielder Seth Smith and prospect Nolan Arenado. Given that Arenado is one of Colorado’s top prospects, this was a total pie-in-the-sky offer from the Braves.

Packers @ Giants. Most of my friends are Giants fans. I’ll be watching the game with one.
