BL, don’t lump Minor in the keeper category just yet, and classifying Pastornicky in the class of Chipper, Mac, and Hanson… wellll that’s not a very good place to start. Hanson may flame out as well, that delivery yeek! Reminds me of the Great Tommy Boggs…. You lumped this prospect in with a Hall of Famer, two hell fire and brimstone relievers, and the best offensive catcher in the NL. not fair to this kid.
I said he would be a damn good 2B, been at this a long time, sometimes I am wrong, sometimes I am right, but after seeing him play, unless the braves get smart and move him to 2b, he will go the way of Francouer!
Now please can we have a convo about any other player not named Pastornicky???

Well than Pastornicky is your man. Great speed. Great small ball player. Good range. Main knock is his arm. Baseball America says out of our top prospects he is most liable to hit for the highest average. I’ve never seen him defensively and have my own concerns but I’d imagine if he comes to ST and swings it he will force the Braves to think if hes ready for 2012.

How about JJ to the Yankees for Nunez and Gardner + a prospect. This solves our SS and LF problem, and Prado can be the super utility player we need, especially with Chipper still on the team. Gardner can even play CF if we lose Bourn after next year.

Part of the reason Chipper was not hyped as much as Tommy or Jason is because he came up 18 years ago and social media was a little less…omnipresent. If Chipper was a prospect now, believe me, there would be Major Chipper Hype all over the place.

holy jeez! this kid has two nicknames already and hasn’t even played a whole ML 9 inning game! gimme a break! he is a nice kid that does not deserve that crap, he deserves to be where he can excel, and make a great living one day! like I said I like him, I like him a lot, he has the demeanor that he wants it bad, not like hey…I am TP, I am the greatest, and sniff my shoes for an autograph…. Tyler is the polar opposite of Francouer, he works hard, but he has a limitation on his arm which is either mental, physical, or plain poor coaching! Now please leave me alone about Pastornicky! He is a good kid, unlike the spoiled metro pony league all-stars, that turn my gut when they open their useless mouths.

You aren’t getting Gardner, Nunez AND a Yankees prospect for only Jurrjens. Just stop it. Swisher and Nunez is too much for only JJ I bet. Let’s be honest, JJ has some serious question marks around him with his injury history and his dropped velocity will not be overlooked y another team. I really don’t see Boras as really that big a deal for another team though, especially the Yankess.

This is right though. Wren said in an interview that Pastornicky was not ready to start 2012 and that he would keep an open mind via trades and free agency.

For all you youngsters out there, I’m going to recommend a great older movie for you. Papillon is on tonight on Directv channel 561 at 9:30. It stars Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Most of you haven’t seen a lot of McQueen, but he was great until he left life way to early.

bl, as a SS trade fodder, as a 2b I am for keeping Tyler, he can hit, but not at ss, that is all I am saying.
The mentailty of some here is why not Prado at SS, clearly martin’s worst position, and if not Prado, why not pasto…. blah blah blah, first off Wren has already stated NO to Pastornicky at ss in 2012. aint happening, no need to keep on, he is not ready, secondly anyone with any baseball logic knows a contending team will not go into a season with hopes that 3 positions rebound with better years than the prior, and a health risk at 3B , with a 22 year old unproven SS. Will not happen, this aint the Fla Marlins, or the Houston Astros.
Nunez has MLB experience on the biggest stage, and playoff experience to boot, ideally what Wren is looking for, will he get him, I dunno, but no way he is going to play a kid at such an important position.

Stewart wins at Homestead AND the Championship: #14-Tony Stewart won the FORD 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway for his 43rd career win and 5th of the season and the chase. With the win Stewart captures his 3rd NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Stewart and #99-Carl Edwards, who finished 2nd, tied with 2403 points, but Stewart wins the champions by the tiebreaker, 5 wins to 1. It is the 2nd time in Edwards career that hew has finished 2nd in the Championship. Stewart is the first owner-driver to win the championship since Alan Kulwicki in 1992.

But even before that, the number was Richard’s. Richard drove it. And someone else drove it before then. There’s a lot of guys in the fifties and sixties that ran that number with success. Austin is a good kid, He seems to have a great appreciation for what’s happening to him and what’s going on around him. And I would be happy if he wanted to keep doing that. Bayne looking to run the Rolex 24 at Daytona: Trevor Bayne is trying to work with his manufacturer [Ford] to land one of the spots on a Grand-Am Road Racing Series Daytona Prototype team for the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. “I’m working on Ford to try and run the Daytona 24 hour race,” Bayne said. “If I do that I will be doing some testing. I have never driven one. I think the Daytona Prototype cars are just sick. They look like something that you can just manhandle and have a lot of fun with.
