Yeah but Uggla isnt changing positions anytime soon. We’ll see how Pastor does in Spring Training at Shortstop. Look what the Cubs are going threw with Starlin Castro I bet he becomes a great defender.
“but from the proven track record of the Atlanta Braves, with the lone exceptions of Heyward, and Francouer, these type of hyped up players are 90 % of the time trade fodder,”
What about Hanson, Beachy, Minor, Kimbrel, Venters, Prado, B-Mac, Chipper…. List goes on and on.
CAB – did you know that in between the construction of its masterpieces The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper that the SEC made some of the first innovations to helicopters?
I’d like us to have a good defensive shortstop who can handle a bat and steal bases. I could care less about power. I wanna see a guy who can make contact often, bunt, and just do the little things.
BL, don’t lump Minor in the keeper category just yet, and classifying Pastornicky in the class of Chipper, Mac, and Hanson… wellll that’s not a very good place to start. Hanson may flame out as well, that delivery yeek! Reminds me of the Great Tommy Boggs…. You lumped this prospect in with a Hall of Famer, two hell fire and brimstone relievers, and the best offensive catcher in the NL. not fair to this kid.

Well than Pastornicky is your man. Great speed. Great small ball player. Good range. Main knock is his arm. Baseball America says out of our top prospects he is most liable to hit for the highest average. I’ve never seen him defensively and have my own concerns but I’d imagine if he comes to ST and swings it he will force the Braves to think if hes ready for 2012.

No he is a bad defender and I don’t think they want to ruin his knees. Russell Martin did pretty good for them and I suspect they go with him again.

Dale Jr. has no problem with the #3 being used: #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr., recently met with members of the media at Homestead-Miami Speedway and discussed a few topics, including Austin Dillon in the #3 and the history of the number, from the transcript in part:
Q) RICHARD CHILDRESS TELLS US THAT HE ASKED YOU AND (SISTER) KELLEY IF IT WOULD BE ALL RIGHT IF HIS GRANDSON RAN THE #3 IN THE NATIONWIDE SERIES NEXT YEAR. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IF IN THREE OR FOUR YEARS HE SAID HE WANTED TO MOVE AUSTIN DILLON UP TO SPRINT CUP RACING AND HE’D LIKE TO TAKE THAT #3. WOULD YOU BE COOL WITH THAT?
Earnhardt Jr. “Yeah, I would. Austin has ran that number and I’m not real sure; I just look at it differently. I don’t look at the numbers tied to drivers as much as just the history of the number. The number is more of a bank, you know, that you just deposit history into. It doesn’t really belong to any individual. Austin’s ran that number and you can’t really deny him the opportunity to continue to run it. It just wouldn’t be fair. Dad (Dale Earnhardt Sr.) did great things. He was a great ambassador for the sport and we’re still as a whole, reaping the benefits of all he accomplished and what he did that put us in front of a lot of people. But even before that, the number was Richard’s. Richard drove it. And someone else drove it before then. There’s a lot of guys in the fifties and sixties that ran that number with success. So the number is really kind of like a bank and you deposit history into and they don’t really belong to the individuals. It’s iconic when you put the colors and the style with it; it’s a little bit iconic to the sport. Austin is a good kid, He seems to have a great appreciation for what’s happening to him and what’s going on around him. And I would be happy if he wanted to keep doing that. He kind of had to know when he first started to run that number if he got this far into the deal, he would have to cross a few bridges like that and that was a tough decision I guess at first to start running the number for him; knowing what kind of pressures he might face down the road. But I think it would be fine by me for him to do that. I think that it’s got to get back on the race track one of these days. It just can’t be gone forever you know?”(Team Chevy)(11-20-2011)
Kyle Busch uncertain if he will run other series in 2012: Toyota NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, #18-Kyle Busch, in part from a Toyota Racing Transcript:
Q) Do you know if you will race in the Nationwide or Truck Series in 2012?
Busch: “No, not yet. We’re working through all of the schedules. The schedules hadn’t been put together prior to Texas and still haven’t been put together yet either.”(Toyota Racing)(11-20-2011)
Bayne looking to run the Rolex 24 at Daytona: Trevor Bayne is trying to work with his manufacturer [Ford] to land one of the spots on a Grand-Am Road Racing Series Daytona Prototype team for the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. “I’m working on Ford to try and run the Daytona 24 hour race,” Bayne said. “If I do that I will be doing some testing. I have never driven one. I think the Daytona Prototype cars are just sick. They look like something that you can just manhandle and have a lot of fun with. I’m sure there’s a lot more finesse to it than I’m making it sound. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to get out there and just be a part of the 24. That’s something that all drivers kind of have a checklist of things they want to drive.” Along with the running the Daytona 24 in a DP car, Bayne’s wish list of cars to compete in includes a rally car in the X Games, a dirt late model and a modified at Concord Motorsports Park.(Motor Racing Network)(11-20-2011)
VJ- I saw it about 6 months ago and it was fantastic. Like I had never seen it, but vaguely I knew what would happen next. But it was so good, I’m going to watch & Tivo it tonight. Great roles by McQueen and Hoffman. Just a movie I could watch once a year and it’s from 1973.
Almost all of McQueen’s movies were good. What was the one where he was a Det. in SF and racde that 66 Mustang up and down up and down all those hilly streets? Plus the Great Escape was a 4 or 5 star movie.
And I saw both True Grits. The winner hands down – John Wayne.
Ward, sorry dude, I do not believe you. Where are you getting all this new info anyways? Of course it’s possible Pastornicky could start the season with ATL, but no offense, I’m not taking it from you.
Ward, what part of Wren did you not understand, He specifically stated Pastornicky will NOT be SS in 2012, is there some higher power than Wren on personell?
Ward, you just sound so matter of fact. As if you just heard this info from Wren himself. Granted, most of us fans here know the drill anyways and only believe hardcore evidence like when DOB says something.
By the way, anything I write is just opinion or what Dave has written or tweeted.
Larry Munson, whose authoritative voice and momentous radio calls helped define the Georgia Bulldogs for more than four decades, has passed away. He was 89.
The Braves are interested in Nunez, and also the Braves are looking at bringing up Pastornicky in the middle of 2012,so there! This is what I’m hearing. Eventually he oculd be worked in.
I bet Wren does, just by the articles I read. He’s gone to about six teams, and hasn’t done anything yet. It’s starting to look to me. Your going to see Pastornicky, and Heyward start,or Pastornicky in the middle of the season.
Ward, that’s cool. Not trying to be a di** to you or anything. We’re all Braves fas here and like you, I want some Braves news too. I’m pretty ansty. And I did think Wren wouldve made a trade by now as he usually works fast, but it’s still early.
Its not even Thanksgiving yet. We haven’t even got to the non-tender deadline. Calm down. All they are doing is laying ground work and preliminary convos.
What ever…. I’ll come back tomorrow, and most will be talking about the same. I could take a vacation, and come back ,and the same thing would be talked about.A small joke.

Dale Jr. has no problem with the #3 being used: #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr., recently met with members of the media at Homestead-Miami Speedway and discussed a few topics, including Austin Dillon in the #3 and the history of the number, from the transcript in part:
