i wish him well, and so do all Atlanta fans with any class, I personally would have let him eat 175 innings for 10 million dollars, but I guess it’s how you look at it. ( which perspective I mean)
This is the puzzle of putting a MLB team together. Payroll restraints, Experience vs. youth, pitching vs. positional players, speed vs power, today vs next year vs 3-5 years down the road, power arm vs finess vs ground ball vs fly ball pitchers, etc.. . . i am a huge Braves fan and think Frank Wren has done an outstanding job. Had to sign Dlowe and Kawakami just to build our farm and buy the young guns time. Mclouth was a necessity due to Shaffer getting hurt. Glaus was just a bridge to Freeman. look at where we are vs where we started when he took over, and then look at our farm system and where we could be in a couple more years. Great Job!
Wren is happy with the club he has big deal. He was happy with last years bunch too. He still has not tried to sign Burne to a multi myear deal. He had rather pick up someone cheap that can’t play. He needs to go
Be nice if we could trade Freddie to the Cardinals, Red Sox, Cubs etc.,,,, any takers “PLEASE”,,,, In fact you can have him and we will pay ALL the moving expenses and your nice this management will pay one year free salary “that’s how smart this orginization is today”.
i know that everyone is excited to free up the roster spot, but lets show a little gratitude for what Lowe did when we needed him….our issues in the playoffs last year and the end of the season this year were TEAM issues..Lowe did not break our season…he was gracious with what he said when he was traded, lets be gracious and show a little love for him…he was still a Brave for 3 seasons…BEST OF LUCK DERRICK & GO BRAVES!!!

Great move again by Wren. He does so much more with little every year.
Gaining 5 MIL by dumping Lowe is a win with his 5 ERA. GO BRAVES!

Looks like it is a good deal, why pay a lot for a old pitcher when you have so many prospects waiting. Don’t really see a downside. Good luck to Lowe.
