Tom–I’ve only seen an episode or two of ‘Psych’ but the early seasons of WW had great dialogue. Might begin to call it a night.
October 29th, 201111:46 pm
If you’re beginning to call it a night, Moe, I’ll start to start to say good n…. (I’ll give you the rest when you’re finished.)
October 29th, 201111:48 pm
start to start???
Typing and watching the game isn’t working too well.
October 29th, 201111:53 pm
Uh oh. Looks like our resident borderline personality disorder might be in a good mood. I should expedite the readying for bed. Mon dieu.
October 29th, 201111:55 pm
Not just yet, Mr. Berg. USC has tied it up, again. 2nd OT coming up.
October 29th, 201111:56 pm
Very good. I am sure that cab and VJ are enjoying themselves. May the team without neurotic affiliations win. I will go and ready for bed. Adieu.
October 30th, 201112:07 am
Wonderful! A third OT.
I may miss Sunday football.
October 30th, 201112:10 am
Tom, you going to the Soulive show tomorrow (tonight)?
October 30th, 201112:14 am
No, Jarryd. I hope there won’t be too many coming from too far away. Bad storm to the south and east of me.
Eek, sorry cab.
October 30th, 201112:15 am
Tough way to lose for USC. Sorry, LAdy.

Trey–When I was your age, I used to run every other day to deal with stress. But a series of ankle injuries ended that. I try to exercise. I spend time with friends. I read. And (admittedly not something I would advise) I drink.
I think I mentioned this on here once before. Freud says that there are three primary ways for dealing with misery or stress:
* deflections–make light of our misery
* substitutive satisfactions–diminish it by focusing on something else
* intoxicating substances–make us insensitive to it
I would say that finding a substitute–something else that is more important is probably the healthiest alternative. Things like baseball, friends, or a hobby.
this advice is worth repeating MOE…I only wish I could set the example….
October 30th, 201112:17 am
Yeah, that sucks. From what I gather, it was going to be a Beatles tribute show. All instrumental. But always better to be safe than sorry.
Well, I’m done for the night, and peace, and a great day !!!!!!!
October 30th, 201112:20 am
hope stanford loses…sec rules in college
October 30th, 201112:21 am
October 30th, 201112:26 am
I missed it Tom, what was funny?
October 30th, 201112:31 am
Jarryd, I thought you were saying, all instrumental Beatles tribute just for me.
October 30th, 201112:32 am
Well, since the snow may keep people out, you might be the only one there, so it would be just for you.
October 30th, 201112:35 am
Well, Dule Hill was better in the West Wing, after all.
I second that. Nice role.
October 30th, 201112:39 am
Well Tom, I have to work in a few hours. Headed to bed. Night.
Unfortunately, my lady has other plans. She doesn’t share our great music tastes.
You’ll have to forgive me. I was going to cook over two hours ago. But then I got caught up in the USC game. So, I’m doing it now.
October 30th, 20112:08 am
Just read Wren could be interested in Mark Derosa to replace Conrad, and Michael Cuddyer name could be a interest for Wren,as well……Latest…..
October 30th, 20112:09 am
Mark DeRosa would be great to have back, because then you could play Proda at LF…..
October 30th, 20112:12 am
With Prado at LF that would be great for the whole year, and if Wren can’t get Cuddyer? He still plans to get a power bat…..I hope Mark DeRosa comes back.peace out!
October 30th, 20112:15 am
Ward, how you doing buddy? Ready for baseball season to start again?
October 30th, 20112:20 am
Trey, doing good, and counting down again to baseball.Read SI Breaking news….. Thats where I got the Info,as of now!
October 30th, 20112:22 am
Glad to hear, Ward. Hopefully the Braves can get a better player or two, this off season. We don’t need another team to choke at the end again. We need a team who can stay competitive until the playoffs.
October 30th, 20112:25 am
Hell of a game tonight- great crowd, great game, bad outcome. But we played well so I can’t be too upset. Fight On!
October 30th, 20112:27 am
Trey, Right on,and there could also be a trade for a power bat too……That’s if Wren can’t get anyone from the free Agent Market. He’s going to persue it hard, and Rollins, and Reyes wont be targets.
Cab: It was a good game, and USC should hold their heads up……
October 30th, 20112:28 am
Ward, I wish we could afford someone like Pujols.
October 30th, 20112:30 am
Trey, it would be nice, but I think Freeman will fill first nicely….
October 30th, 20112:32 am
I think they will, ward
October 30th, 20112:34 am
Good night Cab,and have fun tomorrow Cab…..
Oh he will, Ward, but I mean, I love Pujols’ power.
October 30th, 20112:38 am
Yeah, but I think the Angels could end up with him,or some one like that? I settle for Kemp,if Wren could pull off a trade. My favorite would be Carlos Quentin, because we have Greg walker as the hitting coach now.
October 30th, 20112:43 am
I think this loss will make Wren even more agressive, and I have a good feeling about next year…..
October 30th, 20112:57 am
I think everyone will be shocked when nolie comes on the blog! It’s been so long……Keep getting stronger buddy……peace, and talk tomorrow…..
October 30th, 20114:10 am
nolie’s certainly built up a big drumroll

October 30th, 20117:50 am
Hey CB, have you heard of a BRAVE named NAVERY MOORE? He’s listed on the ARIZONA league SURPRISE roster.
October 30th, 20118:00 am
NAVERY MOORE 14th round pick RHP, VANDERBILT [yet another after MINOR and LAMM] 6′2″ 212.
October 30th, 20118:01 am
O.K. time to switch over to the REDSKINS blog. Get well NOLIE
October 30th, 20118:04 am
The torn Freese jersey.
When they were wool this wouldn’t happen. The great “Sheep Strike” of 1971 changed everything. The sheep wanted to wear the coats long and flock to England to collaborate with Roger Waters about a new song. Baaa.
October 30th, 20118:37 am
I told folks all year that the Georgia Tech game was gonna be the scariest game of the year for Clemson, because of Tech’s ability to burn clock with their offense and shorten the game (making the assumption that Tigers’ defense wouldn’t be able to stop them on every possession).
And even with that, when the Tigers made the late pick and Boyd threw that fade, I thought “OK, down 7 with plenty of time”, since the Tigers have run that play to perfection all year. I fully expected a score there. Watkins reads it wrong, and Tech makes the pick right back. Bummer.
Tech was simply the better team on the night. Congrats to them, and maybe the Tigers will get another crack at them later. I’d like that.

October 30th, 20119:21 am
Cuudyer ? Absolutelly. Derosa? Why?
Three inches of snow but it didn’t stick to the roads so no $30 charge to plow the driveway and Dawgs beat Florida. Good day all around.

cuddyer would make a great addition
get well soon nolie
October 30th, 20119:39 am
Cuddyer would most certainly be an ideal fit for what the Braves need, the only issue is the same every year. Money. They would need to free up some contracts for this to be even slightly feasible.
October 30th, 20119:44 am
Its always money. You think with Lowe’s 15 mil coming off the books next year and Chipper most likely being gone as well we can afford a small increase in payroll for this season. The Marlins are increasing payroll by 27 million this season…
October 30th, 20119:49 am
VaBraves – Couple of things. First – If Chipper plays like 125 games this year, his 2013 option automatically vests. Second – Heard that Wren has interest in Cuddyer, so maybe the money is available – especially if they backload the contract past 2012.
However, also heard he has interest in DeRosa and I can’t see them going for someone who played less than 75 games the past two years combined and none of them in the outfield (at least last year). He really doesn’t make any sense for the Braves’ plans.
October 30th, 20119:57 am
I have a hard time seeing him coming back for another season even if his option year does vest.
October 30th, 201110:01 am
Cuddyer would be a awesome pick up. Has the ability to play LF,RF,1B,2B,3B. Mashes LHP for sure. Good clubhouse guy. But right now I see alot teams having interest. Prolly get a 3 year deal as well.
October 30th, 201110:06 am
VaBraves – Maybe so on Chipper, but you never know.
Steve from OH
October 30th, 201110:30 am
How about Grady Sizemore (let’s assume money isn’t in play). Stick him in LF, put Prado back to super-UT guy. Gives us more versatility and a good defensive OF to boot.
October 30th, 201110:32 am
Yeah but Grady is worse than Chipper when it comes to staying healthy.
October 30th, 201110:42 am
Va–that’s a concern, without question.
October 30th, 201110:49 am
Sizemore has the 7.5 mil option but the Indians are leaning to letting him go. Grady has all the tools to be a All Star OF still but can he stay healthy enough? There not willing to gamble for 7.5 mil so thats not to positive. I thought they would risk it and hope for a bounce back 1st half and then trade him before the deadline.
October 30th, 201110:50 am
Sizemore could be looking at a 1 yr deal around 2 mil with At-bat incentives that could get him back up to around 6-7 mil.
October 30th, 201110:58 am
Va–the Indians declined it (I think).
October 30th, 201111:27 am
Congrads to the DAWGS for making everyone’s ride home from Jacksonville a happy one….
Give tek and CPJ credit for a great game plan in their win over Clemson… Said it yesterday, that game went with the money shift mid week…. Vegas new that tek would cover….
And the Lamecocks leave Knoxville barely beating a pedestrian Vol team……..
The stars align when Razorbacks beat Sukspurier………

I MISS BRAVES BASEBALL
October 30th, 201111:58 am
…can’t say that i feel the same
October 30th, 201112:11 pm
MARK DEROSA has some age on him now. He would not be a good move now, but I liked him when he was here.
October 30th, 201112:20 pm
Maybe you should go to the Phillies blog
October 30th, 201112:22 pm
..what do you mean?
October 30th, 201112:24 pm
October 30th, 201112:25 pm
.tell me you miss BRAVES BASEBALL and i’ll tell you i miss RYAN HOWARD.
October 30th, 201112:26 pm
Hi George. Got your NFL picks ready?
October 30th, 201112:27 pm
yup sure do
October 30th, 201112:28 pm
George, we should get Gomes.
October 30th, 201112:29 pm
Well hey, George
October 30th, 201112:33 pm
NE at PIT should be a good game, I have NE giveing 2.5 points.
October 30th, 201112:38 pm
I still wonder what happened to that old blogger who claimed to be a pitcher.
October 30th, 201112:44 pm
Trey, you talking about scoots? He got stung by a swarm of yellow jackets.
October 30th, 201112:45 pm
Do any of you guys ever sleep? _ CB
Only after the axes are sharpened.
October 30th, 201112:48 pm
Not scoots, ease. There was a guy who was on here back in 2010, claimed to be a pitcher, but just disappeared. I looked him up on Wikipedia and saw only one season with him before he retired or something. When I made a reference about that, someone else jokingly said, “He was so good, he could retire after one year”, or something like that.
October 30th, 201112:51 pm
Looking at CHIPPER’s contract I see that 7 million is the payoff if the BRAVES let him walk, and 9 million if he vests the option. Then a million is added for each…..oh dang, I can’t remember what. but several successive something’s. The point being even if CHIPPER does not appear in 123 games or average 127 including 2011’s 126, the BRAVES still have to pay him half of his current salary. Us that right?
October 30th, 201112:58 pm
My top NFL Picks
1. steelers/patriots play to a 3–3 tie
2. dolphins pull a stunner and score 40 points in nyc. but lose to the giants 43-40 in ot
3.cowdoys d-coord rob ryan comes out of the closet immediately following a win over the eagles.
4. LSU over BAMA next week.
5. Tim Tebow comes clean and admits he’s a herione addict following his dismal 3/27 performance in a win over the lions
October 30th, 20111:00 pm
Looks like we’ll have around 10 mil to spend this offseason.
October 30th, 20111:07 pm
back east the GIANTS/DOLPHINS is the only game on! WTF is going on??
October 30th, 20111:18 pm
..nascar must be on
October 30th, 20111:22 pm
phils fan. Out west it’s the giants or (are you ready?) the Panthers and Vikings. Whoopee. However, the niners are on at 1.
Cab…great game. I was pulling for Stanford since I live 3 miles from campus (I have forgiven the school for rejecting me many years ago-in retrospect, I don’t think it was a close call), and this is Stanford’s big chance. When Luck graduates, they’ll go back to doormat status I suspect. Meanwhile, USC has a boatload of great looking Freshmen. I suspect they will dominate the Pac-whatever number again. Must have been an exhausting game to attend. I was exhausted and never left my couch.
As for baseball, let the off-season begin!
October 30th, 20111:40 pm
Tebow is concentrating far too much on tightends to have a decent completion ratio.
October 30th, 20111:50 pm
..and that’s 14 1st half point for the dolphins
October 30th, 20111:51 pm
If Matt Barkley comes back next year, USC’s offense should be excellent. One of the actual positives about our recent issues and not having a lot of depth is that a lot of freshmen and sophomores are getting valuable experience and will be that much better when the games mean more next year. USC has also been looking better and stronger over the last 3 weeks, so I’m feeling good about next season. If Barkley comes back, of course… (It was a great game- looooong day for us but I haven’t seen that type of atmosphere at the Coliseum in several years. Was a lot of fun to be around)
October 30th, 20111:54 pm
…i actually turned off that game once it went to ot. saturday is gd on the girl friend night. and she was out of patience. whata ya gonna do?
October 30th, 20112:05 pm
So, there are going to be a couple of Sailors at the Panthers game, who work at my command. They will be doing Honor Guard. I was asked to do it, but I said no.
October 30th, 20112:09 pm
cam newton is playing like a beast. mius those silly fumbles. hey cam, halloween is tomm.
October 30th, 20112:14 pm
..you’ll regret that for the rest of your life trey. could’ve been a youtube sensation. not!
October 30th, 20112:18 pm
I don’t regret things like that, phils fan.
October 30th, 20112:24 pm
..good for you.
October 30th, 20112:56 pm
Bat,good one. LOL
October 30th, 20113:05 pm
Niners/Browns in a little over an hour. Baseball is officially over.
Anyone see Ken Davidoff of Newsday’s free agent predictions? Had us signing Josh Willingham for 2 years and 16 million and re-signing Alex Gonzalez to a one year 7 million dollar deal.
October 30th, 20113:08 pm
One year – 7million? Over mine and DAP’s dead body.
October 30th, 20113:10 pm
Actually,it will be DAP’s dead body when I give him the news.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
