How many more innings is Colby Lewis going to pitch? One? Come on. Pull him.
October 27th, 20119:55 pm
ok so I don’t know anything about rangers bullpen but I’m switching it to the braves and I’m hearing…he is leaving in hanson – I don’t understand why he would do that he has lowe, linebrink & sherrill who haven’t been used at all
so not sure I can disagree with the call
October 27th, 20119:56 pm
Derek Holland & CJ Wilson are both in the pen tonight…
McFann O O o Get Well Soon, Nolie!!
cabravesfan This is why you need to drink. There is always an excuse…
Ha! I already act drunk half the time, so that’d be a frightening experience!…
October 27th, 20119:57 pm
efrim – for the record I was not responding to your comment just happened that way
October 27th, 20119:58 pm
It’s not the actual getting drunk part that’s the problem. It’s the morning after that causes problems…
October 27th, 20119:59 pm
so derek holland who is a starter and didn’t have time to warm up and wilson who has struggled mightily this post season?
tiger, no prob.
October 27th, 201110:02 pm
I’m still working on skipping that, entire, next day, cabravesfan.
just mentioning what was brought up by Buster on twitter. Could have had someone warming up, I guess…and Holland has pitched out of the pen a bit (4 games last year, 12 the year before) so he does have some experience…
October 27th, 201110:03 pm
If you ever come up with a good answer, let me know
October 27th, 201110:05 pm
You’ll be the first one I tell.
October 27th, 201110:09 pm
Ha! Yeah, that doesn’t sound like much fun…I hate headaches!! And with my constant neck pain, they’re even worse…
So that’s totally out…
yeah I know the decision is debatable (all of them are) but its not like its a no brainer (in my opinon)
I’d bet if they didn’t have the lead it would have been a different story
October 27th, 201110:11 pm
the key to avoiding that, if you ever go to a party in college, is walking around all night with the same cup of beer- even if it gets completely empty, continue to act like it’s got something in it- people won’t keep asking if they can get you more and you won’t drink too much
October 27th, 201110:12 pm
ohhh poor whining little baby go sit your punk self down
October 27th, 201110:13 pm
OK, I read that and thought you were talking about me for a second…you weren’t, right?
October 27th, 201110:16 pm
I don’t really care who wins the series that much (except for the beers & the NL), but I’d like to see it go to the seventh game.
One of my main fishing buddies says that the end of the World Series, is the end of summer, in his opinion. I agree.
Of course, looking out my window and seeing snow on the cars, branches and leaves (snow on the leaves – sounds weird, right?), I’m thinking that summer may have already ended.
October 27th, 201110:17 pm
I have a buddy lives in a different state and we meet up a couple times a year.
late 20’s the schedule was fly in thursday night and go out drinking up early for golf drinking then lunch and a lazy afternoon followed by l8 friday night drinking and drinking golf saturday and drinking saturday night then fly home sunday
early 30’s we would drink thursday night golf friday afternoon but little to no drinking then mellow friday night golf saturday and hard saturday night
mid 30’s dinner thursday night golf friday drinking friday night golf saturday drinking saturday night
now we do dinner and golf and maybe go somewhere to drink one night (normally thursday so we have plenty of recovery time before home)
October 27th, 201110:18 pm
My brain has already moved on to football (which has always been my first love, even though baseball has rapidly moved into a very close 2nd). And no, snow on the leaves is not weird. One of the things I love the most about going to my cabin in the winter is the snow on the branches of the pine trees…so pretty
cab – of course not – I would have included at least one or two nice phrases
October 27th, 201110:20 pm
This is the issue with Young. I mean, this guy used to be a shortstop. He is just a bad defensive player.
October 27th, 201110:21 pm
Apparently defense does NOT win championships
October 27th, 201110:24 pm
with the defense man do not walk him…
Snow on pine trees is beautiful, cabravesfan, and common. I’m talking about snow on regular leaves. There are still maple trees around here that are just starting to turn colors. They are always late to go, compared to most others in the area.
October 27th, 201110:25 pm
Yeah, well, we don’t have trees that change color and lose their leaves every fall out here…
tom – snow was always crazy to me…I remember plenty of years the spring leaves where what knocked the leaves off the trees
October 27th, 201110:26 pm
tiger ohhh poor whining little baby go sit your punk self down
Hey, that’s a great one! I’ll remember that!
October 27th, 201110:27 pm
cabravesfan we don’t have trees that change color and lose their leaves every fall out here…
That’s just sad…
October 27th, 201110:28 pm
Super Two status announced. No Hanson. No Medlen. Meaning next offseason the Braves will have Heyward, Hanson, Venters, Medlen, and Martinez as first year arbitration eligible players.
wow where was that first one? phat phucks screaming wearing on the ump i guess
mccarver didnt watch the braves much this year did he
Also, never go to a college party alone. Go with at least 2 other people, and try to get a guy to go with you…
You’ve got snow?? Dang…
October 27th, 201110:29 pm
You’ll like this…just saw it posted on twitter and I laughed out loud. “@nysnysnew For those unfamiliar with Albany it starts snowing after Columbus Day and stops when the budget is passed.”
Not sad. Our trees are evergreens, for the most part.
October 27th, 201110:30 pm
Heads up play, Napoli.
October 27th, 201110:31 pm
looked safe to me…but I’m ok with it
Ogando has looked terrible this World Series, but that first pitch delivered was a strike that was missed.
Where are you Mike Scioscia? Most overrated manager in the sport. Keep playing Jeff Mathis because he receives the ball well.
October 27th, 201110:33 pm
Not a good night for Holliday.
October 27th, 201110:34 pm
Yeah, a little early – don’t cha’ think? At least it’s not sticking on the roads… YET!!!
October 27th, 201110:35 pm
moe – yeah and I enjoy it
Good night, this guy’s looked awful each time I managed to catch him pitch in the playoffs.
October 27th, 201110:36 pm
That’d be funny, Kat, if it wasn’t so true.
the Denver area just got slammed with a nasty storm a day or so back…knocked out power to something like 85,000 people for a bit. Meanwhile, it’s supposed to be 80 here for the next 3 days
October 27th, 201110:38 pm
cabravesfan Go with at least 2 other people, and try to get a guy to go with you…
Whoa…that’s hard for me to picture. Don’t know why, it just is…
Not sad. Our trees are evergreens, for the most part.
Oh, well that is pretty. But I LOVE fall leaves, especially orange and red ones. We’re surrounded by pretty much all greenish yellow (except for our Maple Tree—it turns blackish purple, unlike the hundreds of gorgeous Maple Trees in the surrounding neighborhoods… ), so that gets a little boring… But the trees by the railroad near our neighborhood?? Man, I could stare at those things all day long…unbelievable…
October 27th, 201110:39 pm
Holland’s Harry Caray and Arnold was really good.
Washington should keep him in there for innings 7 and 8. Go with Feliz in 9. Hopefully the Rangers have the lead.
Yeah, that is good. Hope it doesn’t get bad for ya…
October 27th, 201110:40 pm
You go with at least 2 in case one of them bails on you. And the guy would be there to make sure nobody bothered you
Colors are pretty, but they are also messy. Evergreens don’t shed their leaves…
October 27th, 201110:41 pm
I’m not sure if I’ve ever said this to you before, and I’m gonna do it in Italian…
October 27th, 201110:42 pm
you don’t mean that. I can’t help that I live where it’s always warm and sunny and you can fish all year round…
October 27th, 201110:43 pm
cabravesfan And the guy would be there to make sure nobody bothered you
That’s a good point…if I find one-a those, I better hang on to him!…
Evergreens don’t shed their leaves…
True that. The way our yard/house is situated, the front yard gets filled with leaves before our tree even starts dropping—all the trees from everyone else blow into our yard…
I’d like to see the rangers put up a 5 spot…this inning
October 27th, 201110:44 pm
Yeahhh, finish ‘em off, Texas!
October 27th, 201110:45 pm
ok I’ll give up the 5 spot for back to back to back
Nelson Cruz will never pay for a beer again in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Ah well…computer’s battery is getting low, and so is mine…Guess it’s time to turn in!
Colors are pretty, but they are also messy. Evergreens don’t shed their leaves…
Just don’t park your car under them.
Doesn’t have to be one of “those” guys- a friend works just as well.
Yeah, I don’t rake leaves. My bro and I used to have to rake up the bark that would shed from our Eucalyptus trees in our yard. Hated it. And those stupid trees. Still do actually. And they drip some nasty, sticky goo that clings to cars and is just yuck.
October 27th, 201110:46 pm
dob – so now that the card’s can’t win in 6 are you pulling for either team?
good night McFann!
October 27th, 201110:47 pm
Adrian Beltre is really good at baseball. So is Nelson Cruz. Go Texas…..
I consider it a privilege to have shared some of tonight’s blog with you, McFann.
October 27th, 201110:48 pm
come on let him swing the bat
October 27th, 201110:49 pm
Cruz actually did something away from Texas, will miracles never cease?
October 27th, 201110:50 pm
I’d hit Holland here too. Holland in the 7th, part of the 8th, Adams then Feliz. Let’s go! Get us to the offseason….
October 27th, 201110:52 pm
pedrogomezESPN Pedro Gomez
RT @baseball_ref: Last pickoff by catcher at 3B in World Series was Bench picking off Tenace in 1972.
Ah, Cruz not hitting anywhere but Texas. Makes me think of nolie. My thoughts and prayers are with him. Miss the guy.
October 27th, 201110:53 pm
holliday with a wittle boo boo on his finger..its a really bad bwuise from the big bad beltre… I’ll bring him one of wittle tiger297’s snoopy band aids if it makes him feel better
Beltre has been very inconsistent during his career. Always had talent, for a good while he was known more for not using it all the time. Has had about three real good years in his entire career.
Beltre is damn good.
October 27th, 201110:54 pm
Dotel has what you call a “fro hawk
I’ve heard from various folks that the finger thing is actually quite bad. Apparently he’s having trouble gripping the bat, but wanted to play anyways…not sure how accurate that is, but it’s been reported…
October 27th, 201110:56 pm
There ya go. Now we should hopefully start getting some Braves news soon. That’s all I care about
October 27th, 201110:59 pm
Has had about three real good years in his entire career.
I’m a younger guy, and have really only watched baseball religiously for the last 17 years. I haven’t seen a better defensive third baseman in that time. Beltre is insanely good.
October 27th, 201111:01 pm
Man that guy has a good voice
October 27th, 201111:02 pm
Braves news: Braves’s fan, Tom O’Hawke, gets up during commercial to take a leak.
Braves news: Braves’s fan, Tom O’Hawke, gets up during commercial to take a leak
And apparently, his 14th beer…
Yes. very talented. Also very lackadaisical through much of his career. Hitting has been all over the place
October 27th, 201111:04 pm
This series has demonstrated how little the manager affects the game. Both managers have made dreadful decisions. In the end, Texas is just hitting the ball and out-scoring their mistakes.
They’re winning despite Ron Washington.
If they go on to win this thing, no one will remember Washington’s questionable calls.
October 27th, 201111:06 pm
Eight more outs til Braves can tell AGone to walk.
Seven more outs.
October 27th, 201111:07 pm
ear hole him right here…last PA for phat phuck as a cardinal put him down…
October 27th, 201111:08 pm
Six more outs til Poo-holes is wearing pin-stripes.
Yes. very talented. Also very lackadaisical through much of his career.
Yeah, career .276/.329/.469, 110 OPS+ hitter. Unbelievable defense and that line makes him a pretty damn good third baseman.
And what position will he be playing there?
October 27th, 201111:09 pm
efrim – whats chippers stats there (just curious)
October 27th, 201111:10 pm
October 27th, 201111:11 pm
.304/.402/.533 141 OPS+ over 18 seasons
If Albert isn’t a Cardinal, next year, he’ll be a Cub, IMO.
October 27th, 201111:12 pm
(sorry Efrim- I was curious too and decided it was just as easy for me to post the numbers)
October 27th, 201111:18 pm
well heck I don’t want an audi anymore…
October 27th, 201111:20 pm
cabravesfan, October 27th, 2011, 11:08 pm … “And what position will he [Pujols] be playing there [Yankees]?
1B … Yanks will DFA Texieria or use him at DH.
October 27th, 201111:21 pm
Five more outs til we can stop hearing about the Braves collapse.
October 27th, 201111:22 pm
One thing’s almost for certain, Pujols won’t be a Padre.
October 27th, 201111:23 pm
You really think they would DFA Texiera when they own him $112.5m over the next 5 years? Highly unlikely.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
