yes it is not LOL
I always like following someone who did a poor job, it is so much easier to shine.
October 27th, 201112:08 am
when its sleepy time down south….
October 27th, 201112:12 am
Sounds like an interesting conversation
I pretty much like most types of food. Indian, all types of Mediterranean, eastern European, western European, Mexican, South American, Caribbean, Southeast Asian, Asian…it’s all good Never had “Chinese Indian” though…
October 27th, 201112:13 am
good night Tiger!
October 27th, 201112:14 am
October 27th, 201112:17 am
good night, tiger. I hope that I shine.
cab–It was a very interesting conversation. I love all of the cuisines that you listed. I worked in some Greek olive groves and had wonderful Mediterranean food. I visited my brother-in-law in the Czech republic and had amazing Eastern European food, I have had my Korean sister-in-law cook for me so many times that I believe her food to be sublime. My in-laws have mad me insane Indian food. I have gone to Mexico with friends from there and been fed great comfort food. I am admittedly rambling–just saying that I agree with you that these foods are all great.
October 27th, 201112:18 am
Glad that VJ is there. Think I will go and clean up the kitchen after cooking and begin to call it a night.
October 27th, 201112:24 am
You are lucky to have such a diverse family to be able to partake in authentic ethnic foods. Nothing better than eating foods from another region cooked by someone that grew up there.
October 27th, 201112:40 am
Good night, cab!
October 27th, 20111:17 am
“Indian Chinese” is neither Indian nor Chinese. It’s just a higher spice level increasing in the order: Indian – “Manchurian” – “Szechuan”. Never tell a Chinese person that it is a variation of their food. It’ll be like telling a Mexican about Taco Bell and an Italian about Domino’s.
October 27th, 20111:26 am
Moe, I gave up at 3-0. You’re sayin’ it went 6-1? Shoot, I don’t follow the EPL much, but I thought City was the red-headed step-child…
City is more Oliver Twist compared to the Utd’s blue bloods. When Twist’s recent saviour ended up being an Arab sheikh, it stopped being all that Dickensian.
October 27th, 20112:03 am
Looks like everyone has signed off. Was just wondering if we’d heard anything from Big Jake on nolie’s status.
Don’t got much time to stick around tonight, but I’ll check back in the AM is there is any word.
October 27th, 20112:59 am

We got your back bro.
October 27th, 20117:20 am
SURPRISE SAGURROS fall to league leading SALT RIVER 2-6 today. And there is a disquiting line in the box score
C CHRISTIAN BETHANCOURT [.333 BA] started the game but came out with an injured hand on a wild-pitch play at the plate in the top of the first. THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS!
And 1B JOE TERDS [.417 BA] went hitless in four with two K’s. This game just SUX!!!!!!
1B ‘45′ GOMEZ [.143 BA] pulls another o’fer with two K’s
LHRP JOSE LUGO [0.00 ERA] 1.1 IP, zeros, 1 SO.
C WILKIN CASTILLO [.250 BA] 0-2.
SS/2B DIORY HERNANDEZ [.333 BA] 0-2, 2 BB.
No BRAVES played.
1B ERNESTO MEJIA [.273 BA] 1-3, 1 R, 1 RBI , 2 SO.
October 27th, 20117:55 am
just read an article on the Sporting News about a porn star (Bibi Jones) who claims she slept with Dan Uggla while “working” for an agent trying to sign more clients. She claims she was never paid to do this, but that players sometimes signed with the agent after sleeping with her, how does Chipper and the Hooters girl sound now?
October 27th, 20118:35 am
October 27th, 20118:38 am
sorry, it’s a headliner on AOL right now, easy to find there, it’s about a tight end for the Patriots getting into trouble with her and Uggla’s name comes out in her interview…
October 27th, 20118:57 am
Y’all are just jealous.
October 27th, 20119:09 am
Congratulations to Kimbrel, Rookie of the Year!
October 27th, 20119:25 am
the question up in the air for me after reading more on this is this: Was the “encounter” with the porn star responsible for Uggla’s divorce. or did the divorce come before the “encounter”?
October 27th, 20119:28 am
Heard Bibi Jones also posed with Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski. Good for them both of them.
October 27th, 20119:32 am
Big Jake – thanks for the updates on noles.
October 27th, 20119:33 am
The question up in the air for me is who cares?
October 27th, 20119:36 am
Who cares, indeed?!
October 27th, 20119:42 am
Yeah, I’m not sure why it’s a big deal at all. Who gives what Uggla does outside of the field as long as it’s legal and not hurting the team/organization – which this is clearly not.
October 27th, 20119:44 am
I only brought it up because Chipper catches so much heat to this day over the Hooters waittress thing…
October 27th, 20119:45 am
Lincecum is projected to have a 3rd year arbitration number of 19.2 million. Yikes. Can’t wait to see what his 4th year arbitration number is…. I mean, wow. Speaking of windows, I think the Giants have one of 2012-2013 given how dead set Lincecum has always been on going year to year. I suppose they can sign Matt Cain to an extension, as his contract is up after 2012.
October 27th, 20119:46 am
Just took a quick look at last night’s blog…
richbrave – Thanks again for the update/evaluations.
Big Jake – Thanks for the nolie update…Thoughts and prayers still going out to our friend.
N8 – Many of us believe there were valid reasons for the Chipper contract, and that is still justified. I won’t go through that again now. However, it is what it is (actually, I hate that phrase), so you might as well get over it and move on. Where you could spend the $14M is a moot point.
What’s the deal with Chipper and a Hooters waitress?
Ah yes, The Infamous Hooters Girl.. Yet another who cares situation.
October 27th, 20119:48 am
BF80 – I rarely hear anything about Chipper & Hooters…Especially since his situation is and has been so stable for a long time (at least as far as we know).
October 27th, 20119:49 am
Efrim – Sounds like the Giants should just go ahead and give him a long term deal and be done with it.
Nova Scotia Steve
Well, I got a new position at a radio station back in my home province and am finally going back to Nova Scotia!
After 3 years in northern Canada. It’s a dream come true! So happy.
He fathered a kid w/ a Hooters waitress and destroyed his first marriage in the process.
However, to his credit he’s never denied any of this, and seems to have taken responsibility for what was a dumb mistake by a ballplayer in his early 20s. If you’ve ever seen him at a charity event with his family his son is usually right there with his wife and other children, and near as anyone can tell he’s been a pretty good dad.
October 27th, 20119:51 am
Chipper’s ancient past is certainly irrelevant to his current situation. It falls squarely into the “who cares” category, as far as I’m concerned.
We all have made mistakes, especially when young. Those touting Andruw have certainly moved past the Gold Club episodes.
Sounds like the Giants should just go ahead and give him a long term deal and be done with it.
Yup, I would try hard if I were them. But perhaps he wants to test free agency. He’s a Northwest guy, though. Should be a fascinating story when the time comes.
October 27th, 20119:54 am
McFann O O o Get Well Soon, Nolie!!
Why aren’t they telling us when the Silver Sluggers and Gold Gloves will be announced??? For crying out loud…
NSS – Great news for you, my friend. We have 2 very good friends/neighbors who each moved here from NS in the 70″s.
a dumb mistake by a ballplayer in his early 20s
Exactly, something that happened almost 15-20 years ago. Move on.
October 27th, 20119:55 am
Cardinals exercise Wainwright’s options on the 2012-2013 season. Wainwright, Carp, Garcia, Westbrook, Lohse in 2012. Shelby Miller and Carlos Martinez on the way.
October 27th, 20119:59 am
I wonder if LaRussa took the night off to memorize the name of his relief pitchers?s
October 27th, 201110:00 am
given how dead set Lincecum has always been on going year to year
Isn’t he coming off a two year deal? That’s really not “dead set” on “year to year.”
I think they’ll sign him to another extension, but I’d be surprised if it bought out any FA years.
October 27th, 201110:03 am
Lew – The so-called genius LaRussa certainly seems to be having his share of screw-ups and brain f@rts. I am finding it quite amusing.
RC, October 27th, 2011, 9:49 am … “He fathered a kid w/ a Hooters waitress and destroyed his first marriage in the process. … and seems to have taken responsibility for what was a dumb mistake by a ballplayer in his early 20s.”
Isn’t his second wife the Hooters girl? Or did he marry another girl? I don’t keep up with this stuff, nor do I really care. But, I feel that I need to know the back-story of the blog soap opera if I’m going to keep up.
October 27th, 201110:05 am
McFann, last year the story on the Silver Slugger winners was posted on 11/10 so maybe a few more weeks?
I don’t think they even sign him to a deal. I think he just goes year to year from here on out. They may try and get Cain locked up beyond this year though.
October 27th, 201110:06 am
He married someone else.
Speaking of soap operas, I tried to follow the overnights. All I really got was …
cabravesfan is awesome.
BAS is going to drink cabravesfan into oblivion.
Moe Berg has been everywhere and is related to most of the major ethnicities in the world.
American beer is like making love in a canoe.
October 27th, 201110:07 am
If he signed a two year deal before/during arbitration, doesn’t that negate arbitration from there on out?
How about dead set on getting to free agency….
October 27th, 201110:09 am
Nope. It’s about service time. He is still under club control for 2012 and 2013, but signing him to the previous deal was just about cost control over 2010-2011.
October 27th, 201110:12 am
Efrim – Was he a super 2…Otherwise, why would he have 4 years of arb?
October 27th, 201110:13 am
y’all misunderstood, I agree completely, but most of this particular group on here right now are pro-Chipper, but I can assure you there is a pretty hefty Chipper-hater contingent with Sonny Clusters at the lead that like to throw the Hooters stuff out pretty regularly, I just brought up the Dan Uggla thing to point out that a lot of these guys aren’t the nice people we want them to be, that was all I meant by any of it and yes, Chipper seems to be a good husband and father based on what I see these days and as long as what Dan Uggla does off the field has NO AFFECT on his on-field performance, i don’t care either, but what if some of that stuff was going on during his first-half poor hitting performance? What then?
Was he a super 2…Otherwise, why would he have 4 years of arb?
Yes, he was.
Thanks friends! I really appreciate the nice comments!
October 27th, 201110:17 am
I hope Cole Hamels and Matt Cain test free agency. Get em out of this league.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking…the last few years they’ve had a page on mlb.com with all the awards and the dates they’d be announced, but I’m not finding one of those this year…
October 27th, 201110:18 am
When do we find out whether Medlen or Hanson is a Super 2? I guess it depends on the CBA and if Super 2 even exists anymore in it’s current state.
but what if some of that stuff was going on during his first-half poor hitting performance? What then?
So was he in relations with Ms. Bibi (or her like) during the skid, or after, not at all? Sounds like some serious investigating needs to be done.
Hugo Z Hackenbush
October 27th, 201110:20 am
Congratulations NSS. If you owned a Lear jet, that would be…something.
October 27th, 201110:21 am
Hugo: the name is hilarious! awesome!
October 27th, 201110:24 am
Perhaps Bibi was the slumpbuster. If so, I recommend getting her on a retainer or at least introducing her to Mr Heyward. She did wonders for Uggla.
October 27th, 201110:25 am
I never understood the athlete’s fascination with porn stars. If you’re a successful athlete, why not hang out with an attractive woman who doesn’t get nailed by a zillion different guys as her profession?
October 27th, 201110:26 am
Hugo: I thought the same thing, that kid for the Patriots looks a little too innocent for her, just sayin’…
October 27th, 201110:31 am
Of course I might be a little hypocritical…I have had my picture taken with several adult film actresses, and I was, uh, starstruck to say the least. I could see how you could make the leap to wanting to get to know one better.
October 27th, 201110:34 am
if Uggla was single at the time, I can’t really say anything at all, if he was married, troubled marriage or no, well, that steps into another area for me, just one husband and father’s opinion…
Yeah, Sonny never liked Uh, Chipper even when he was someone else here.
October 27th, 201110:35 am
If your TV was broken would you ask your wife to fix it or take it to a repair shop?
There are some occasions when only a professional can get the job done…
October 27th, 201110:36 am
that one shot over my head Lew, what do you mean?
October 27th, 201110:37 am
not funny Murph
Medlen can’t be a Super Two – he’s already got almost three years of service time (he came in earlier than Hanson and was not held out long enough to negate his first year)and he missed an entire year of stats to pad his resume. Hanson? Maybe so..
October 27th, 201110:40 am
i thought it was funny, but thanks for your critique. You know funny, obviously, so your opinion really matters to me.
October 27th, 201110:48 am
I guess you could go to the repair shop as long as you’re sure you can’t pick up any communicable diseases from the repairman, uh, person.
adultery is funny huh? ask my wife who grew up in a painfully broken home or any number of other people I know from that background… Hilarious!
October 27th, 201110:50 am
Not to sound like an idiot, but what is GPB? — cabravesfan
Georgia Public Broadcasting station
Why bring it up then?
October 27th, 201110:51 am
This reminds me of the time Mel Brooks was talking about when a subject like nazis becomes fair game for humor. I guess people who are too close to the subject will never find certain things funny. Given enough time or distance, a lot of questionable stuff becomes funny.
October 27th, 201110:52 am
Well, I grew up in a family of comedians… my dad did stand-up, my mom was a clown for Barnum Bailey Circus, my sister was great at impressions wrote several funny parody songs (some called her the female Weird Al)… and then there was me. Not funny at all. Into computers and gadgets. My family shunned me. Their fans mocked me.
So thank you, Mr BravesFanSince80’s, for bringing up painful memories for me. Really cool.
October 27th, 201110:53 am
Lew – Who else has Sonny been? Haven’t seen him here lately, although I see he was on Bradly recently.
October 27th, 201110:54 am
Ease. Murph made the joke about adultery I didn’t. I brought up the idea that if Dan Uggla’s potentially questionable lifestyle led to poor performance this year (kinda sounds like a certain starting pitcher most of us can no longer stand) maybe that’s an issue the team needs to address?
October 27th, 201110:55 am
36 degrees here, headed for a high of 38 and snow in the upper elevations. Fall be gone already.
I don’t want Reyes, who will likely be overpaid, but Rollins might be had for 3 or 4 years at $10 million or so. Rollins at 32 would seems to have a few good years in him. — Brave New World
Besides pitching, shortstop is the position the Braves feel they now have the most depth in their minor league system, with Pastornicky and Simmons atop the list. Pastornicky is very close to being ready, and the Braves are quite high on him. So unless they’re going to trade him and then Simmons, too, it wouldn’t make much sense to sign a guy for 3-4 years. They could use a veteran for one more year, maybe less.
October 27th, 201110:56 am
raleighbraves -well, he doesn’t like his toes trifled with.
You opened the door, so don’t complain about who comes in.
October 27th, 201110:59 am
Well, unless the porn star gave the bats an STD which lead to their lifelessness…………
October 27th, 201111:00 am
Sounds like we need some sensativity training around here…Not really a joke on my part. I don’t like for feelings to be hurt.
I brought up the idea that if Dan Uggla’s potentially questionable lifestyle led to poor performance this year
Considering her line of work I doubt she’s the shy kind, so if you are all that interested in Uggla’s performance, ask her.
There’s this old priest who got sick of all the people in his parish who kept confessing to adultery. One Sunday, in the pulpit, he said, “if I hear one more person confess to adultery, I’ll quit!”
Well, everyone liked him, so they came up with a code word. Someone who had committed adultery would say they had “fallen”. This seemed to satisfy the old priest and things went well, until the priest died at a ripe old age.
About a week after the new priest arrived, he visited the Mayor of the town and seemed very concerned. The priest said, “you have to do something about the sidewalks in town. When people come into the confessional, they keep talking about having fallen.”
The Mayor started to laugh, realizing that no-one had told the new priest about the code word. Before the mayor could explain, the priest shook an accusing finger at the mayor and said, “I don’t know what you’re laughing about, Your wife fell three times this week.”
I still suspect they’ll offer AGon one year, plus an option year. Nothing more.
October 27th, 201111:02 am
Isn’t it great that we have medicine these days that help cork our bats, if you get my drift?
Hugo – Just avoid the pine tar.
October 27th, 201111:03 am
