Kat – Aren’t you in upstate NY surrounded by Red Sox, Yankee and Mets’ fans with little room to talk?
———————–

Yes but facts get in the way of reality for those fans. No matter the result they will ALWAYS be better than the Braves and the Braves will always suck…according to those (Sox, Yankees, and Mets fans).

N8, it’s pretty obvious Parrish was not the answer as a hitting coach, but what do you expect from someone who had never been a hitting coach? So many hitters today have their own instructor that they fall back on, it’s hard to say how many are buying into any system. I believe Wren hit the nail on the head saying that our hitters need to battle every pitch and every at bat. I would be willing to say our offense would improve next year regardless of who you put in there. So Parrish will look even worse. That still doesn’t take away the accountability that each player should put on themselves. I bet Prado doesn’t blame his year on the staph infection or Parrish, although both affected him.

Gordon –

I’ve been curious to see how that Wasserman/SFX thing plays out. Was it Kinzer or Furcal who welched on that deal? I always felt it was ultimately Furcal, but…

Francisco Rodriguez’s former agent Paul Kinzer never provided a no-trade list to the Mets, Sandy Alderson confirmed on Thursday.

Alderson said that Rodriguez’s contract provided for a ten-team limited trade provision but that list was never sent by Kinzer. – July 14, 2011, ESPN New York

“I bet Prado doesn’t blame his year on the staph infection or Parrish, although both affected him.”

Prado seems like a standup guy that isn’t going to make public excuses for failure. That being said, if he doesn’t blame those two things (leaning much more towards the staph infection)…..

Then people really need to worry about him more than most are.

I don’t doubt that Prado will have a bounce back season next year if healthy. It’s going to be hard to not bounce back.

But I’m also of the belief that with our trade chips we have, Wren could improve the team in LF, even if Prado is healthy. It’s not a knock on Prado. He is what he is.

Prado had three straight years over 800, getting a LFer who will better that for certain will perhaps be a more expensive proposition than the Braves are likely to afford

It’s obvious by looking at the empty seats in New York, the Columbia Lions can’t be expected to win without fan support. Quakers being thrown into the Lion’s Den and the fans must be in Rome.

Hello everyone! I saw Efrims 2012 Free Agents list, and I think we look for a solid player for SS,but don’t give out too much money.Scutaro comes to my mind. Vertan, and a good contact hitter. Can get on base, and still Like Johnny Damon idea for a rental. If Baves can I’ll say it again Carlos Quentin, and than save up money for 2012. Keith Law on our first round draft pick from 2011, LHP Sean Gilmartin:

One other first-round arm out here besides Cole and Hultzen is Atlanta left-hander Sean Gilmartin, who was a reach at the back of the first round because of his size and lack of upside. Gilmartin was 88-91 with an improved slider but worse change-up than I saw from him as an amateur, as well as a slow upper-60s curveball that is more of a show-me pitch. If you really like his command and control, and believe that his athleticism will allow him to overcome his slight build, you could see a fourth starter here in the big leagues.
