I hope I remember this correctly – “instant karma is going to get you, it’s going to knock you right out”?
Brave New World
Fellow Braves fans, let’s wait and see if the Philly trolls who delighted in our misfortunes have the guts to take the much-deserved heat from us on our Brave blogs! I doubt it. It would be tempting to log onto the Philadelphia Inquirer blogs and act like a classless jerk, rubbing salt in the Phair weather Phils phans’ phaces, but why waste the time stooping to their level. GO BRAVES!
Jake W – I think Milwaukee gets through. Carpenter mostly wont pitch till game 3. Brewers have their rotation set-up better.
x-Brave Furcal’s .triple and great play at SS saved Cards.
October 7th, 201111:36 pm
I can’t stand LaRussa but for these few games, I was a HUGE fan! As others have said, I’m sure the Philthy Phailures are re-thinking rubbing our noses in it during the three games of the season. Karma has a way of coming back to bite you. As I am no fan of the arrogant Brewers – Brat, Fatso, and Nutso, I will be pulling for the Tigers.
I am now going for Tigers all the way!!!!!!!!!!!
October 7th, 201111:37 pm
FOX executives are probably going to slit their wrist if they end up with a Mil vs Det WS. Two teams in the North close together. No one will be watching it in about 3/4 of the country.
Nightmare World Series for Fox. I love it.
I think they’ll prefer to show American Idol reruns instead.
Kerryb, somehow La russa seems to inspire his players to leave their best effort each day on the field. They can say Bobby was better, but La russa’s style produces incredible results with less talent.
October 7th, 201111:39 pm
I’m still pissed about our choke and will remain that way for some time, that being said.Go get you shine box Philly. You squatted on our blog all year now go home.Welcome to our world.Instead of Smoltz,Glavine, and Maddux not getting more than one.Now it’s Halliday,Lee,Hamels et al.Hope you freeze your asses off all winter, enjoy the misery.
Quentin was one of the players discussed at the trade deadline. He had 24 HR and 77 RBI, but he is a .252 hitter for his career.
That being said, I would be “ok” with him in LF, which would allow us to use Prado as a super Sub who fills in for Chipper at 3B, fills in for Quentin in LF, and fills in for Uggla at 2B (and if he learns to play RF, he could fill in for Heyward in RF).
I wouldnt be “thrilled” to have Quentin though.
T for Texas
Or at least want 3 of the 7 games to be decided by text in vote.
October 7th, 201111:40 pm
Its not a given that Tiger and Brewers play in WS.. as u can see anything can happen.
Braves need to hire Greg Walker hitting coach.
Couldn’t have happened to a bigger bunch of jerks! And I am talking about Lee, Halladay, Hamels, Rollins, Howard and the Filly fans. All that money didn’t buy them squat in the postseason.
Go Red Birds. Beat the Beer Makers!!
manolo, Just something about LaRussa that I have never liked. Also, has the steroid guy on his coaching staff. Name not worth mentioning.
October 7th, 201111:41 pm
Big differences between the Braves and the Phils in 2011. First of all payroll (yeah, that $25 million for Lee was well worth it, ’cause it brought them a title – oops, my bad!). Secondly, expectations: Philly fans foolishly expected nothing less than a championship, with some even ridiculously comparing these underachievers to the 1927 Yankees (LOL!). And finally the devoted Philly fans: when they were steamrolling along, they were so devoted. Can’t wait to read their pathetic comments criticizing their beloved Phils. Boo hoo, life’s so unfair!
I’m not thilled to have J-Hey are Fredi
October 7th, 201111:42 pm
I think Milwaukee gets through. Carpenter mostly wont pitch till game 3. Brewers have their rotation set-up better.
Thought that a couple of days ago but I just don’t feel like the Brew Crew have enough pitching. I think its going to come down to the hitting and even though i’m not really rooting for the Cards I think their lineup is complete and just got through the toughest pitchers they’ll face all offseason from a group standpoint. If the Cards pen keeps up its production I give them the slight edge.
Sleep well Philly trolls, where ever you are hiding!
kerryb – Maybe because he is a lawyer.
Dumbfound (Dumbfounded Again)
October 7th, 201111:43 pm
JeffSchultzAJC Don’t worry Philly fans. You still have the “Dream Team.” Oh, wait a minute . . .
Halladay is one of the good guys – team player and works his rear end off. No WS rings for him so far. Poor guy. I’d like him to win one, but hopefully not with the Phils.
October 7th, 201111:46 pm
I think I will be one of those pulling for the Tigers. Jim Leyland is the classic baseball manager. Even sits in the dugout puffing on his cigarettes.
October 7th, 201111:47 pm
they do have the dream team..they can dream about next year. Like us.
Eckersely is annoying and ugly as shi*.
SB, I’d like to see Halladay win one with Atlanta. That would be nice. However, as long as he plays for the Phillies he is undeserving of one. In my twisted opinion.
According to my ciphering, we only need 10, 883 more posts for a new blog record.
Please note Fredi or Bobby would have pulled Carpenter for the “Closer”…… Cause that is how the game is managed today !
Hey Filly trolls! Gag, gag, gag, gag, gagged, gagged, gagged.
October 7th, 201111:48 pm
Manuel may now regret sweeping the Braves and keeping his starters in even during extra innings to ensure a Phillies win at the end of the season. The Cardinals were clearly the hot team at the end of the regular season.
I thought the Cardinals would play the Phillies much tougher than if the Braves met the Phillies in the playoffs. It just goes to show that the best team doesn’t necessarily make it to the World Series. It’s who is the hot team.
It really stinks to win 102 games in the regular season and not even make it the NL championship. I think I’ll celebrate with a Philly cheese steak sandwich.
ml rule u can’t smoke in dug-out..he goes in tunnel
October 7th, 201111:49 pm
I remember when he use to smoke in the dugout several years ago.
October 7th, 201111:50 pm
Well lads, it didn’t take long for the worms to turn. Following is hot off the Phil’s blog on the Inquirer site:
The Phillies are becoming the laughing stock of the sports world. What a disguisting, putrid, horrendous display. 3 hits. Pathetic and sad, Ryan Howard gagged on his own vomit.
(such loyal fans almost bring a tear to my eye!)
I have one thing to say to all Phillies Fans right now…
Thanks to the Phillies for performing yet another playoff choke job as the best team in baseball. I guess money doesn’t buy championships…just ask the Yankees!
It’ll be great seeing some mid market teams in there for a change.
October 7th, 201111:51 pm
me too. and the mgr for Baltimore at one time was called 2 pack because he smoked two packs a game
The thing I always respected about Jim Leyland was that if his team stunk he told them that they stunk. He doesn’t sugar coat anything like some managers do trying not to P.O. their players.
October 7th, 201111:54 pm
kerryb..he is one of the best at making the right moves at right time. He is in on every pitch and if u slack he will rim u out.
Phillie fans always live up to their worst fans in sports title all the time. I’m surprised they were not throwing batteries at their own players before the game was over or while they were walking off the field.
October 7th, 201111:55 pm
Nothing wrong with well-deserved schadenfreude…
October 7th, 201111:57 pm
Wish Braves had a mgr like that
Tom – running your ciphering through my well-trained brain – seems to be on track…
I’d like to see a Tigers-Brewers World Series with the Tigers winning it all. Now if only the Braves could hire Ty Cobb to teach the Braves how to hit, bunt and steal.
October 7th, 201111:58 pm
Guess Wren and Fredi will have more EXCUSES tomorrow..Good-night and God Bless.
Like a guy who runs his pitchers out there in weird and strange patterns?…
October 7th, 201111:59 pm
If the Braves aren’t in it I’m fine with no east teams in it.
DOB what was your WS pick? If it included the Philllies with the four left any opinion on who may end up at the end?
Because of the Larry Parrish thing we now know that Frank Wren has no problem letting Freddie G. know who the GM is. I don’t think he would have done that to Bobby.
October 8th, 201112:00 am
Have a goodnight, and take care, everyone!
October 8th, 201112:01 am
Got to go to bed and rest up for a day of football tomorrow.
Greg Walker can get the Braves hitter on track..bet on it. Oh wait the Braves have not hire him yet.
October 8th, 201112:03 am
Good finish to the night. Now, I must go to bed. I am tired.
Good night Kerryb and Paul..football tomorrow!
Thanks, buddy. Except, I hadn’t anticipated TnBrian & Trey sneakin’ right in front of my post. (That would have made it 2 less.)
October 8th, 201112:08 am
Fun comment from Twitterville:
Team that wanted Cliff Lee–out Team that got Cliff Lee–out Team that lost Cliff Lee–still alive….
October 8th, 201112:10 am
Tom – I will admit – I did not even try to count…
October 8th, 201112:13 am
Prediction: Phils sign Jose Reyes for $20 million+ per year, and he gets hurt every year of his bloated contract.
October 8th, 201112:14 am
And you grade students tests???
Oh that’s right, you’re from Atlanta.

Hello everyone! Pizza Time……..Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!Ha!Ha! The Phillie Choke! suck on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Priceless………………………….
October 8th, 201112:17 am
I see you’re no longer on Frank Wren’s case. It’s about time you smartened up.
However, on a positive note; your posts claiming that Wren has done a poor job and should be removed, made all of your other comments & rants, seem exceptionally astute, by comparison.
For anyone that likes North Mississippi Allstars, they are about to stream live from Tipitina’s in NOLA at this link:
October 8th, 201112:18 am
Ward, great night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 8th, 201112:20 am
eat it, phillies! hey maybe next year, yall can up the payroll to $200 million….
Video quality not that good, but sound is good.
October 8th, 201112:21 am
I’ll check them out, thanks.
October 8th, 201112:23 am
Beware, there will be lyrics.
October 8th, 201112:24 am
Thanks for the warning. You’re a good friend.

Trey: Great night, and love the look on John Kruks face. It say it all……
October 8th, 201112:27 am
I need to pick a sign off for the evening – until I do, pretend this was it…
October 8th, 201112:29 am
Tom., I’m going to pipe it down on Wren, and keep it calm. Don’t agree with his way of doing things, but will let it slide. I’m good, and I’m back, and feeling good. Just had to shake it off some, and can move on now.
I think you nailed it with that one, VJ. I wouldn’t change a thing. Good night.
October 8th, 201112:30 am
That’s good, Ward. I thought your addition to the moniker was a bit much.
October 8th, 201112:31 am
That was a pretty solid sign off.
October 8th, 201112:32 am
I like watching the Braves lose merely because some of you act as if your life depends on games in May. We can all take great delight in the misfortune of others. It is funny to see teams that are favored get knocked off. The Braves are despised by millions in this country because of all the winning they’ve done. People love to watch the Braves choke. The venom and hate is in constant flow. Phils lose? Hahahahaha! Cards lose to the Brewers? Hell yes! T-Plush droppin’ F-bombs on La Russa’s genius? I’m swaggin’ up into that party!
In the end, the only team that’s worth anything is the team that wins the title. Anyone else is a loser, and the team that wins will end up suffering from the title hangover and start losing, too. I love it. All teams must die.
October 8th, 201112:33 am
Can anyone come up with a Phillie choke song? Maybe, we could leave that up to nolie?
October 8th, 201112:35 am
Tom, I felt it,and decided too,and was probably scaring people half to death.
No sorrow for the Phils. You did it to yourselves. You could have let up on it those last 3 games and we would have been in the playoffs playing the Brewers while you faced the Dbacks. But NOOOOOO.
You had to go and open the door for the Cardinals knowing that they owned you this year and that you would be playing them.
Are you watching these games (that you should be playing in)? Notice the energy from these teams? Notice they are not afraid to show emotion and pump their fist in the air? Notice that they all stand on the top step and watch their team play showing support instead of sitting on the bench and chewing red man or biting your fingernails? CAN WE SEE THIS IN 2012? Can this team stop acting like they are too flipping cool to even be on the field and look like a team that cares? I have to say that I could deal with losing better if I saw a team that cared. When did we see this from the Braves in 2011? Game 162. That is insane! I know our manager is fat and lazy but lets see some fire next season.
Look like a team that actually gives a flip. This city is bored with Braves baseball and need something to win us back in 2012 after the collapse. Hope anyone actually sees this and brings some energy to the team in spring training.
October 8th, 201112:36 am
Braves don’t have an “ace.” No one who could do what Carpenter or even Halladay did. We have alot of future possibilities one day. But no one who you know without a shadow of a doubt that your best guy will shut the other team down.
October 8th, 201112:38 am
Phillies fans will be bored with baseball with another let down again next season.
Technically Miter Frisky…at least Smoltz, Maddux, and Glavine got one. Halladay and Lee have a big fat zero. Would love to hear someone throw around that word dynasty again about right now.
October 8th, 201112:39 am
I called it. Philly loses (although I thought it would be to Brewers). Next move is to hire Francona. Watch! It will go down and once again we are their b#tch. Funny for all the jabbering Philly fans did on here all year they will be watching the series at home also. Called that too. Said they are nothing but the new version of the 90’s Braves teams.
You still giving them a listen Tom?
October 8th, 201112:41 am
monty – Philly fans are the new Braves fans. Division banners don’t mean jack!! Ask Bobby Cox about that.
jeffskversky Jeff Skversky by philliesnation
Ryan Howard says the @Phillies believe he tore his left achilles. Howard felt it pop on the final out
Phillies might become the Braves of old. Lots of pennants and 1 WS win.
October 8th, 201112:44 am
@Really? Niger Morgan does the robot dance when he gets a hit and breaks bats after he strikes out. This the kind of energy you looking for?
Sincerely, I don’t get why so many fans want to see “passion” from their teams. Alex Gonzalez was angry and emotional after every single bat…didn’t make him a better hitter. Tom Glavine looked barely alive the majority of his career. He won 300 games. Who cares how much they act like they care. I’d rather see them play well.
October 8th, 201112:45 am
So, that’s how you beat the Phillies, dominant pitching. Clever.
October 8th, 201112:46 am
Pihillies, will still be no Braves. They didn’t win 14 Division Championships, and are becoming of AGE…………………..
October 8th, 201112:47 am
The Phils should show some class and just Tip their Caps to the Cardinals.
“Tom Glavine looked barely alive the majority of his career. He won 300 games:
THat is so funny, because it’s true. Mr. Roboto.
October 8th, 201112:49 am
Braves are the class act of cap tipping.
You’re right, Ward. It took me a few days to calm poor nolie back down.

The Phillies can apologize to Roy Halladay by scoring one million runs.
remind me again which team it was that the phillies busted their rear ends to help get into the playoffs? it wasn’t the slumping braves. what idiots.
October 8th, 201112:52 am
The Phillies losing is like a cloud s been lifted, and now get to see the headlines for the next few days,as well.Ver,nice…………..
October 8th, 201112:53 am
Maybe the Phillies can start appreciating the gut wrenching plus decade the Braves experienced of being the best team in the league or MLB, yet coming up with only one championship. It really does seem unfair that a team can be so dominant in the regular season and yet fail in the post-season… if the Phils are hurting, they have no idea yet the hurt Bravos fans have been experiencing.
Maybe the Filthys might start regretting playing so hard and rubbing our noses in the dirt in the last three games of the season, which rewarded them with playing the very scary Cardinals.
October 8th, 201112:55 am
Here is a set with them and John Medeski on organ. Pretty good listen.
October 8th, 201112:56 am
Just think…the Phillies are 9 division titles and 3 NL pennants away from EQUALIZING what the Braves accomplished in the 1990s. Even with a $180 Million payroll. Welcome to the offseason, chokers! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
October 8th, 201112:58 am
signed cliff lee : over 100 millions dollars
signed howard extension : over 100 millions dollars
trade top prospects for pence
look the phillies won 102 games for nothing and lose with a crap team like cardinals in NLDS PRICELESS!!!!
moneyball phillies moneyball maybe amaro jr needs to go to the movies and watch the movie
170+ millions dollars for nothing lol hahaha
