The A Bomb - OUTCHOKED ® TWICE!
October 7th, 201111:07 pm
WE’VE BEEN OUTCHOKED AGAIN!
Great job, CC!!!!!!
On the last day of the regular season, Carpenter pitched a CG shutout to Cards the win that got them to the postseason.
Against the astros, though.
This would rate much higher on the “clutch” scale.
October 7th, 201111:08 pm
Harassment by Phillie bloggers over the winter just went down 98.9 %. Thank you so much Cards.

Ha ha, bite it Phillie phailures.

Looking through that Blog from December 13th, 2010, I found some quotes from BMac that Ms. Rogers posted…this one struck a bit of a nasty foreshadowing-type cord…
“Baseball, you play 162 games, people get hurt. You have to keep everybody healthy and it’s a long stretch. Injuries play a big part in teams that make the playoffs and don’t.…”
Damn – maybe Howard will have to retire…
October 7th, 201111:09 pm
The disgusting Phillies are GONE and Howard injured! Priceless!!!
keylargo – exactly what I was thinking…
Bet we won’t hear from those loud mouth arrogant Philly trolls now.
T for Texas
Let’s all go to the Phillies blog! I’ll drive, Bat get some beer!
October 7th, 201111:10 pm
Way to go, Cardinals!!!!
I thought their rotation was built for the postseason.
Oh well, crapshoot it is.
I bet all the Phillie fans now really regret sweeping the Braves the last series of the season.
That Philly elimination in the1st round with Howard going down hurt might just dwarf our collapse. Much bigger stage and expectations for the Phillies.
Didn’t Cliff Lee say and Rollins that they can’t be beat? Yeeeeah, sure.
I’m not sure what I like more, the fact that the cardinals won or the big panty waist ryan howard hurting himself. I hope its an acl
October 7th, 201111:11 pm
While I admire Philly for honoring the integrity of the game, it was still stupid for them to beat the Braves into submission in the final series, catapulting St. Louis into the play-offs.
Frankly, couldn’t we all pretty much see this coming?
October 7th, 201111:13 pm
Phightin Phills phlame out phurfect
The Phils, who probably pay their pitchers more than the Braves pay their entire team, go down!!!
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,…………………………………………………………….
That’s our facial expressions a week ago. Welcome to the club, hos.
HA! Here comes a ratings dud. Texas and Milwaukee. Almost as good as my dream WS, Kansas City and Milwaukee.
Look at the faces of those arrogant fans! Hahahaha!
Man, Im so happy right now!!!
Can’t say I’m sad to see the Phillies get bounced out of the playoffs a day after the Yanks got theirs.
I LOVE THIS. WHERE ARE THE PHILLY FANS!
October 7th, 201111:14 pm
Called it long before the Cards went to philly back in September, they were the one national league team I felt that could knock the phils out. Us making the playoffs would have been better for the phils, instead they eliminated us and in essence eliminated themselves. Welcome to the club philly phans. The trend continues, since adding an ace they have been eliminated a round earlier each year. Hamels remains the only one with a ring.
It’s an all NL central CS. I like the Brewers – advantage in the rotation and a better back end of the bullpen.
October 7th, 201111:15 pm
What no Phillys trolls today? I guess ain’t that easy to win WS Welcome to our world.
Gotta have some enjoyment during the post season when the Braves aren’t in it. With the Yankees and Phillies both out I’ll take that.
Rob from SC
October 7th, 201111:16 pm
Never understood why they didn’t let the Braves win.
Hoping for a good series between the Brew Crew and the Cards, Midwest baseball. Espn frowns.
Hey Phillies, karma’s a bitch!!!!!
Where are those Phillie fans that were giving us so much grief a week ago now? Thought they were a shoo in for that WS ring.
October 7th, 201111:17 pm
Welcome to the club, hos.
I thought you weren’t making anymore clubs, Soph. LOL
All midwestern World Series coming.
East coast is cut off from the LCS.
One thing is going to be hard to top all this good games during the NLDS and ALDS. Instant classic all those games.
October 7th, 201111:18 pm
The way we were playing, they would’ve had to score runs for us and field like the bad news bears to let us win.
And it’s not just that they didn’t let the Braves win, they had Utley and Rollins out there in the extra innings on the last day of the season, plus an injured Ryan Howard playing the entire series, only pulled for a pinch runner (IIRC).
Admire the integrity, criticize the “strategy”.
Phillies are on the decline. 2008 WS champs, 2009 lose in WS, 2010 lose in NLCS, 2011 lose in NLDS.
October 7th, 201111:19 pm
Hey Philly look what 173 million bought you .
October 7th, 201111:20 pm
Misery loves company.
Man, the Phillies are starting to remind me of the Braves in the 90s! All that great pitching, playoff appearances, one title!
Ahhhh, chhhhhhhhhhhhhhoke! Love it. Philly fans, lets hear from you now
NL East crown is nothing to sneeze at.
Brewers Tigers World Series.
Is that why everyone showed up here today.
October 7th, 201111:21 pm
Six weeks ago, Braves-Phillies and Red Sox-Yankees was not just a possibility, it looked likely.
Obla di, obla da.
Reid in EAV
It’s a well-known fact that “Left Of The Dial” is written about GSU’s station, WRAS, 88.5. “Left of the dial, right on the music.”
Man its great to see Braves fans happy…for the Cards win..sorry we couldn’t be happy our team won. The Best team won are the hottest team in Sept won. The top Money is gone. Thank God.
Cards-Tigers is my wish
I Tip my Cap to the Cardinals.. way to go,,,
That’s what you get for having such a disgusting cocky attitude! F you Phillies! Go watch the WS from home, AGAIN!
We constantly have been made fun of for making the playoffs so many times to only have 1 world title. Phillies can now be in the class they so much pick on the Braves about. Excpet they have a looooooong way to go before they can be a dynasty winning 14 straight division titles.
They should now see clearer that it’s not as easy as they seemed to think. Losing short playoff series doesn’t necessarily mean the other team is better, just they had a play or here go their way,and things like this. Hopefully this wises those ignorant and arrogant Philly fans. And maybe Rollins will learn to keephis mouth shutfor once, Lee too.
RC in the ATL
October 7th, 201111:22 pm
As bas as things may seem in the ATL as a sports fan, at times, how good is it to live in a town where your NBA team would struggle to beat the colleges in your town, your “dream team” has a 100 million dollar quarterback who whines about officiating, drops the ball when tackled, and completes passes to defensive backs when pressured, and, oh by the way, has a 100-plus-million dollar MLB team that their ownership can’t even afford that has once again, gagged on the BIG stage. Perspective baby! I’ll take the ATL anytime.
schadenfreude uber alles
Phillies. Yankees. Playoffs are a crapshoot, particularly three-level playoffs with a best-of-five up front. Starting to believe that now?
Phillie fans can never say anything again about the Braves winning one WS. At least we got there more than twice. This is an aging injury riddled team. The Braves are a young team that will be on the rise starting next year when we are done with that sorry D. Lowe.
Who wins the battle between Beast and Squirrel?
October 7th, 201111:23 pm
Let me back off the Sixers a bit…they did make the playoffs last year.
That’s good road trip beer, Bat–in bottles, the cans are terrible.
Philly fans are psychic, them tomahawk chopping while sweeping the braves in September was really just an ode to following in our footsteps. What a tribute, they’re trying to mirror us.
In all seriousness they will not run off the division titles like we did, this division is just going to get tougher and tougher. I’ll settle for 5 or 6 straight division titles and one world series.
snotbooge..u right man..lol @ 11:18
October 7th, 201111:24 pm
Well I enjoyed the Cardinal victory tonight, and think of all the Philly’s fans who came to bust our balls here…..
I truly hope they enjoy the rest of the “Dream Team” season as well !
October 7th, 201111:25 pm
SnotBoogie,,, National League east “CROWN”,,, HAHAHAHAHAHA
UKUGA, agree with you 100%. No need for them to have Lee throwing that many pitches on that Monday or regulars in extra innings. They wanted to humiliate us and get the Cards, well, now they can have a great winter with the Cards on their heads.
Round one needs to be best of 7. Bur that makes sense, so the Used Car Dealer will never allow it.
October 7th, 201111:26 pm
I’m pulling for the Brewers now. I hate the Phillies but I don’t like the Cards and Tony Larussa much better.
This is a lesson for those want the Braves Payroll increase….Boston (Out0 Yankee (Out) Phillies (Out)…Money don’t buy Championship.
Ha, not my club, T. However, we are all in it together now.
Curse of the Squirrel in Philly!
those extra 5 games only cost the Phils about 70-80 mil more than we spent. not really a great return
October 7th, 201111:27 pm
For the sake of tidbits . . .
If this were 2013, Carpenter and Huddy would’ve pitched in the “Wild Card play-off” on Thursday or Friday, meaning that if St. Louis had won, then Carpenter only goes once in this series.
Which is exactly why MLB wants an expanded play-off. That, and the money.
October 7th, 201111:28 pm
mostly the money………
October 7th, 201111:29 pm
Juan u right~~ a damn good GM will make u a winner~~~not a waiver wire GM like Wren.
Dumbfound (Dumbfounded Again)
Niger Morgan tried to start a fight with the Cards on the last series they played. You could hear Niger sayig, “Enjoy going home” ! “Enjoy going on vacation” ! Should be a good one ! I hope the Cards pithers hit him !
The $4 million/game gate x 81 games is a pretty nice ROI for the Phillies.
Juan, I just want a bunch of gritty, determined ball players who give 100% and live to win. That’s worth more than the over paid ones.
October 7th, 201111:30 pm
The Cards are good, they are on a mission. But the Phillies, by sweeping the Braves in the final three games of the season, helped send the Cards (who dominated the Phils in the regular season) into the post season…………… . the irony of the Phillies now getting tossed out in the first round of the postseason by the Cards is rich. They got their kicks by throwing sand in the face of the Braves, but in the end it backfired on them. They did it to themselves.
Brave New World
This sounds so perverse, but seeing the heart of the Pholding Phils choke yet again in front of their fans is without question more satisfying than if the Braves had backed into the playoffs. I was wrong about the Braves still making the playoffs in 2011, but I was so right when I predicted that the Phils would not make it to the World Series. Halladay pitched a heck of a game, but those bats are just as lame as the Braves (sorry Ryan, looks as if you might be really lame in addition to your hitting – seriously, I hope Howard is not hurt). For years as my Braves piled up division titles the envious Philly fans downplayed it. Well how about some Kharma Philly fans, because you look a lot like the Braves who used to win the division only to exit in the playoffs. Cheer up, you may have yet another year of dominance (in the regular season, of course), but your team is aging, and the Braves are loaded with young pitching. I’d like to say I feel your pain, Philly fans, but I’d be lying!!!!
Well, the Cardinals just proved they belong in the playoffs. Glad to see Philly gone, and it was nice to see an old-fashioned pitching battle with the starters going the distance.
Listen to ESPN, they are almost crying! They have no team to shove their faces on now!
No Boston, no Yankees, no Phillies. ESPN about to have a heart attack.
October 7th, 201111:31 pm
Oh yeah, gotta be bottles
Nyjer Morgan hates the wild card.
Got 3 of 4 of the division series right, only one wrong was I picked TB over Texas. Don’t really have a good feel for the next round but i’ll take
Texas over Detroit
St. Louis over Milwaukee
Won’t mind if i’m wrong.
October 7th, 201111:32 pm
Well, now the Phillie’s can reflect on their collapse. I still remember the Phillie’s keeping their starting position players in the final game of our series, plus pitching one of their big 3. I also remember the Philly fans gloating over eliminating us. Ain’t Karma a bitch?
October 7th, 201111:33 pm
I like what the Cards did. Did not go crazy spending early in the year or in the offseason, but still got some good crafty veterans like Rhodes, Furcal and Dotel for the last month or so. If we could have gotten one or two extra relievers to ease he workload of Venters and Kimbrel…
Skeezix~~u play to win..u never let a team win~~The Cards are a good team and they have showed that in Sept and now.
October 7th, 201111:34 pm
Nightmare World Series for Fox. I love it.
John Kruk is probably somewhere eating to get rid of his depression now.
Well that was a hell’va ballgame.
Now if the cards lose I don’t care what happens after that
