Brave New World
September 27th, 20116:40 pm
No way Braves can manage to win the one-game playoff after they got swept by cards..,
Lets win tonight somehow and hope for a miracle that Manuel doesn’t start any regular guys tomorrow
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
Why’d you say that about BMac’s quad earlier today…??
I mean regular pitching rotation..,
September 27th, 20116:41 pm
If D-Lowe keeps us in the game and we win, I promise I will somehow incorporate his name into my name for in-game tomorrow.
Sorry, ‘teen ‘teen – gotta take one for the team.
September 27th, 20116:42 pm
lol @ Brian Jordan on his scooter.

September 27th, 20116:44 pm
So-Lowe, or Lowe-ph?
Stay tuned impLOWEsion coming up next.

Who is Steve Bartman Stizz?
Can’t quit now,” said Jones, who aggravated his knee running the bases in the sixth inning on Monday night but still went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. “…I’ve been preaching all along, ‘People are tired. People are hurt. So what? Let’s go. Strap it up.’”
Jones said if it were April, he wouldn’t be playing. As it is, there’s not much he can do other than ice it and try to take it a little easier in batting practice.
Jones said he wanted to have the MRI to find out if there was anything more they could do to treat it. The tests showed his knee is still structurally sound, but without the cartilage removed in his arthroscopic surgery, he said he’s going “bone-on-bone.”
Go get em Old Man !!!!!!!!!
September 27th, 20116:46 pm
You know we loved Prado when he was playing at an allstar level and now everyone is taking shots at him because he’s struggling.
September 27th, 20116:47 pm
Anybody else plan on catching the documentary on the Steve Bartman debacle on ESPN? My previous channel button will be getting a work out tonight.
Biggest joke I’ve ever seen blaming that poor kid. Like nobody talks about the Stanley wild pitch before Buckner’s error, the other Alex Gonzalez makes a crucial error that would have been a double play and that kid’s life would have been normal. Such a joke fans getting all over that guy.
September 27th, 20116:49 pm
Strap it on boys! Just two more wins and your in the playoffs.
September 27th, 20116:50 pm
September 27th, 2011
The same with B-Mac…..And Mac carried this team for about 4 months.
September 27th, 20116:51 pm
Ooh, I like both T. Lowe-ph could also be an ode to our most favorite dearly departed Brave, Garret Loaf Anderson.
September 27th, 20116:52 pm
How about Slowepheeeee?
Usually this time of year you blame the injuries. We have our entire everyday lineup!!! AX the hitting coach.
Are they trying to avoid saying you got to tip your cap?
September 27th, 20116:53 pm
LOWE TO THE RESCUE!! I gotta a sick feeling we might win tonight. Call me crazy….
STEELY DAN MAN
I actually heard D Lowe say a couple of seasons ago … He pitches much better in the cooler weather. Let’s hope that’s true TONIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stizz (Braves & Falcons fan til death)
Chill guys I just think it’s interesting TV.
It is a joke the resentment the city still has for the guy though.
Haaa, I love that one too, O.J. Definitely in the running.
I thought there was a certain harmony in the Loaf/Lowe-ph tie-in. Use either as you see fit.
September 27th, 20116:54 pm
Tip your cap later!
It’s time to strap it on and hit the post!
No way I expect for this Braves team to magically transform into a decent offensive baseball team tonight and actually win a game.
No, can’t do it. Too many in-game, non-baseball educated, not-really-Braves-fans LOSERS on here.
I’m headed to the TV and watch the game…while keeping an eye on the Rays.
You good blog folks have a great evening. Hey, there are at least three bloggers at the game tonight. Hope they have a great night.
After the victory, I’ll be back!!!
Go Lowe!! Go Braves!!!!!
September 27th, 20116:55 pm
Enjoy the game everyone….my nerves are through the roof!
Anyone who doesn’t get game on tv, mlb.tv is on sale for $4 for the last two games.
September 27th, 20116:56 pm
Hey Eric,Last year was a fluke.Prado sucks.
I think Lowe really steps it up a notch. If he can at least match what he did last time out against Florida we should be fine. What a brutal September. But these are the Braves! I am 46 and been a fan since I was eight. I remember drinking beer with my buddies in the woods in Albany, Ny going on about how great Tommy Boggs, Larry McWilliams and Steve Bedrosian were going to be. Bedrock was, just not for us. Anyway good luck to everyone. Heyward comes up big. Go Braves!
my nerves are through the roof!
Careful, Fols. We don’t wanna have to cart you outta here like Kotchman.
September 27th, 20116:57 pm
September 27th, 20116:58 pm
Here we go ladies and gents… This is our season right here
My feeling of nervousness has been replaced with a feeling of dread… I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch/listen to the games tonight.
Well I know it’s intense when I have my game day snacks and Braves clothing on an hour before the first pitch. But i’m ready! I think we pull this one off….
September 27th, 20116:59 pm
Who’s the longman if Lowe falters tonight? Medlin?
September 27th, 20117:00 pm
… This is our season right here
Same saying for many days now
i thought at the start of the year it takes 91 wins to get in.
i also thought the fillys would only win 88
oh well it wouldn’t be any fun being right all the time
Hugo Z Hackenbush
September 27th, 20117:01 pm
Mister Frisky, you’re a bonehead. Prado had three consecutive years with an OPS above .800. This year is the fluke.
well…”DLOWE” the time is here…let the beating begin…..
September 27th, 20117:02 pm
I bet Lowe’s ERA eclipses 5.00 tonight and could this possibly be his last start in a Braves uniform? Doubtful.
September 27th, 20117:03 pm
This has the making of Bears vs Packers last year……Bears had a chance to win at home again the Pack, but didn’t….the Pack came back and beat the Bears in the NFC Championship.
Where am I going with this?
Philly will falter, Braves get in………we take advantage of it and see Philly once more with everything on the line!
Dramatic much? Yes.
I wonder if Chipper makes it through the entire game
September 27th, 20117:04 pm
I reinstalled MLB.tv blu ray app today..hoping for better results. It gets weird watching a game 2 mins behind when I’m so tempted to refresh the blog or twitter to see ‘live’ what’s going on.
September 27th, 20117:06 pm
McFann, my bad. I meant his oblique, not quade.
See, nevermind me people. I can’t even get certain muscle injuries right.
Here’s hoping the boys had a healthy afternoon snack full of HGH!
As much as I hate D-Lowe, I wish him pitch much better than his recent outings,
Nova Scotia Steve - Braves Fan Until The End
Let’s go boys….
September 27th, 20117:08 pm
Hopefully the Braves lose the funk tonight.
On paper, they look like a much better team than has taken the field lately.
Any day now, the real Atlanta Braves are going to show up. Maybe tonight’s the night.
N8, you feel better now?
If you’re trying to get me to defend D-Lowe, it ain’t happening. He’s been awful.
But folks who act as though Teheran has been some sort of rookie sensation, on the part with Beachy at his best or Delgado at his best, need to slow down a bit, in my opinion. Kid’s not quite ready for this yet. Braves have been fortunate to have three rookies — Beachy, Minor, Delgado — perform well in some huge starts. No team has that many kids pitching for them in a stretch drive. Four rookies in a row in the biggest games of the season? C’mon. The Braves were not going to drop Lowe from the rotation and replace him with Julio Teheran in the biggest game of the season. Sorry, just wasn’t going to happen.
September 27th, 20117:09 pm
lets go braves!!!
Prado is hitting number 2 again.
I don’t get why Gonzalez can’t adjust the lineup.
Prado should be swapped with Heyward.
Well, I had a closed door meeting with the team before the game, and we all saw how that turned out. Tonight I’m staying home and rooting from my armchair, hoping that will change our luck.
Luck and some timely hitting……….and good work from Lowe for about 6 or 7 innings…..is absolutely required.
September 27th, 20117:10 pm
OK…whew!! You scared the heck outta me for a second…
DOB, How can we not blame Fredi Gonzalez ? He should get the WORST MANAGER AWARD — Brave New World
You can blame him all you want. Nobody’s stopping you.
come on phillies!!…..just let us win! lol
September 27th, 20117:11 pm
26 to go!
DOB…must suck being in your time zone waiting for 7:00!
Over here in central time we totally get the game at 6:00! So my posts are actually a spoiler alert!
Lowe looks good tonight.
I see movement in his pitches like last years Division Series.
I think we are good today.
utley batting 2nd?
September 27th, 20117:12 pm
Steve from OH: No, Fredi was asked about Vizcaino today. Not injured, just hasn’t been right situations to use him, according to the manager.
Over here in central time we totally get the game at 6:00! So my posts are actually a spoiler alert!
I got you beat…it’s only 4:00 here
September 27th, 20117:13 pm
And it begins.
DERRICK FREAKIN BLOWE EVERYONE!!!!! OMGGGGGGGGGGG
Spoke little too soon Veer
Steve from OH
I’m with DOB on this one. Lowe over Teheran.
If the grounders find holes, Lowe will lose. If not, it’ll probably be a really good game for him. And there’s a lot to that he can’t really control.
The Bad Braves …
“Ow. We want the funk.
Give up the funk.
Ow. We need the funk.
We gotta have that funk.”
Lowe gives up a solo home run.
Wham. Lowe down 1-0 after Utley bomb with 1 out in 1st.
Murph, I want 1 in the pool.
Well, hell. If that was any indication as to how the pace of the game will go, might as well turn it off now. Thanks Lowe!
For real man? Come on
D-Blowe strikes again……….. this doesn’t look good…. D-Blowe on the mound.
Surprise, surprise. What a loser. Couldn’t even get through one god damn inning without giving up a run.
September 27th, 20117:14 pm
Another first inning run allowed. More playing from behind which has been shown to be detrimental to the Braves.
Keep laughing Phills. Your time will some.
Derek Lowe: The guy you can always count on to put you in an early hole
That looked like a good pitch…Utley just owns D LOWE
Rob from SC
Sounds like Chipper is setting up excuses for when he grounds out with men on base. If he is hurt he needs to sit out, or play and shut up.
Heyward needs to kick his ass
Sit down Pence.
Guess we have to rely on Houston again tonight. *sigh*
September 27th, 20117:15 pm
Last night we had 3 baseballs thrown to us before bp was over. That’s what taking a pretty blonde (my daughter) to the game with you will get you!!!
OMG, a home run already???
lexbraves…..it’s 1-0….come on now
Please no hangers to Howard
Can we score a run to tie it up?
Way to bounce back… its early Lowe lets go
I wonder if Lowe will be pulled before it’s 5-0 in the 4th
Chop It Up All-Star
I want a mulligan
September 27th, 20117:16 pm
if you dont want to watch Lowe, then dont. but he looks sharp so far, gave up one bad pitch
LAZY flip by Chipper….
Well at least he didn’t hit it with men on
We can get to Oswalt tonight. Question is, how much will they get out of Lowe.
I’d also pick Lowe over Teheran. Teheran has shown very little at the major league level.
I hope that Utley HR tastes good up in your freakin A _ _
September 27th, 20117:17 pm
Give us 6 or 7 and 2 runs and he did his job..not giving up yet
who don’t own lowe
Look despite the homerun Lowe looks good. He has great movement in his pitches.
I don’t see Phillies scoring many runs aganist Lowe tonight.
If we can score 4 runs today then the game is ours.
PRADO IS DUE UP WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS
“late arriving crowd still trying to find their seats”. They might as well start trying to find their cars.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
