phredd, I apologize, but I’ll be damned if I let some Jersey Shore punk be a complete dips**t.
The Astros winning means nothing!
Houston 5 – St. Louis 0
Still in the 3rd
dont have to worry about that trey….wont happen
Which means, if it does happen, cardsfan won’t be anywhere to be seen on the blog…
LETS GET 6TH RUN IN
Astro’s hitting with RISP….
and they are the worst team in the NL!!
Chris from the Rock
Ooops. Sorry, 3-0.
more runs for the Astros! Cardsfan????
F Dan Uggla.
Worthless piece of s***.
The A Bomb
PAREDES 2-RUN TRIPLE….
HOUSTON 5 ST LOUIS 0 BOT 3
This is hilarious.
September 27th, 20118:52 pm
Holy smoke, Stros!
still not worried….i have faith in our offense
I think Braves could break a record here. They could become the 1st team ever to make it to postseason after not having double digits in the win column in september……..Has anyone check about that one?
Is it safe to say that Houston is more reliable than our Braves? They are doing their job to perfection.
This organization is so amazing that there is a big chance we will see Lowe start a game in October if Astros win today and tomorrow (since we are not good enough to help ourselves).
Phillies had a 2.8 runs per game avg in their last 8 games or something like that, just to come to Atlanta and more than double that stat in just 2 games………LOL
DOB remind Freddi about Lowe last 15 starts and I bet he would tell you in 12 of those games he gave us a chance to win.If hes in are rotation next year there were in trouble.I was for Teheran starting tonight but just like Delgado and Minor for what with this offence. Heyward should start next year in AAA.
Dan Uggla year one has been a substantial disappointment.
If you have any friends that are Astros fans, please keep Thank You cards ready. Or at least call them and let them know your appreciation, I just did..
5-0 Astros!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
18 MORE OUTS TO GET.
If only Astros can score 1 more and get it to 6.
they dont have Holliday anymore.
We have a shot.
I will take a 1 game lead with 1 game left
Oswalt’s last 3 Losses: 6 ER, 5 ER, 5 ER
Opponents: Nats, Astros, Marlins
How many runs have we scored on this losing streak?
Well, looks like Houston is trying to give us one more friggin shot at the wild card. 5-0
If by some miracle the Braves make the playoffs, start all the rookies.what the heck..since they shouldn’t even be in the playoffs at least they can get some experience
September 27th, 20118:53 pm
DS1 you got your bags packed yet
Pathetic washed up third baseman loses a ball in the lights. On a bounce!
Steve from OH
Whoever “B. Bogusevic” is, he has been the Braves’ best player over the last game and a half.
Amen to that.
Should this Astros score hold up (knock on wood), I daresay the Cards might just be choking harder than us. And we’re choking pretty damn hard right now.
no worries Trey, I’m from central NJ
Brave4life-1995 all over again???
I was watching the Astros game and I they showed a Braves fan in the crowd
thats pretty awesome
cards losing their game by even worse score..
The Braves performance has been so disheartening that it’s hard to get revved up about the prospect of a playoff series. This team doesn’t appear to have much left in the tank.
I dont think Cards will be able to come back this time, but Carpenter pitches tomorrow.
No to mention Kendrick will be send against us………the kid just owns us.
September 27th, 20118:54 pm
cab, like I’ve said in previous comments, that cardsfan is a complete coward. He won’t show up if the Cards lose.
cards fan for the EPIC fail! last night was a fluke blah blah blah, yes, we really think youre gonan lose, because youre already losing moron!
Sucide squeeze and get anotehr run in.
Like I said if both teams go 1-2, we’re in.
I wanna throw up with Astros winning! I don’t know i am happy or sick or upset or what?!? I can’t handle this anymore, going crazy….
Jake Westbrook>Derek Lowe, but just barely.
This is hilarious…..I have turned off a Braves game with a game and a half left in the season and i’m watching the ASTROS! WTF happened to this year!
Its going to be even funnier when we back door ourself into the playoffs THEN TURN IT ON! We’ll go from goat to America’s Team in days!
Oh Cards……..you are JUST as lame right now
September 27th, 2011
Face it folks..we are a team of destiny…..we cant give this wildcard away. BTW Bar-B-Que at my house.
Is Bobby’s Booger the winner of Lowefest 2011? He guessed 12 and Lowe got 12 outs, right? Congrats on your lifetime supply of stuffed sopapillas from Murph’s Sopapillaporium!!!
Lowe is a piece of sh!t. That is all.
Cardsfan is worried folks, so don’t give him any grief
On the bright side if we both lose tonight’s games there’s still a 75% chance we win the WC outright and 25% it’s a tie. Right?
The Astros scored more runs in one inning than we have in 4 games
Slim to None and Slim Left Town
cabravesfan – that’s not what I asked you. I understand that you will still have that California style carefree attitude, but will you actually stop defending this team and call them out for this epic failure?
September 27th, 20118:55 pm
Doc, I thought Blanton pitched tomorrow.
6-0 in the 6th. Another “biggest game of the year” and another stinker to this point. No hitting and no fire. Lowe with another subpar effort and Prado with another loaf to 2B (and as I type, another weakly hit ground ball).
I do hope the Braves come back and win or at least win tomorrow, make the playoffs, and win it all.
If that does not happen, changes have to be made. I would be shocked if the Braves fired Wren or Fredi, but at least Parrish has to go. If not for things directly his fault, the poor hitting during the collapse necessitates a change in hitting coach.
Lowe will not be back as a Brave starter. He has had his chances to redeem himself and after his last outing I was hoping tonight would be solid as well. Of course it was not. The Braves will do all they can to get rid of Lowe and eat a substantial part of his salary to do so. If he is impossible to trade, he will be in the bullpen.
Jurrjens or Hanson will be traded if there is anyone willing to give the Braves close to market value.
Look for Prado to get moved as well and the Braves will look to add a solid bat in LF. The only way Prado stays a Brave is if Chipper retires this offseason (unlikely due to his contract but his affect is flat as can be – either he is retiring or his pain is even worse than he is letting on). Shortstop becomes a decision point. Stop gap or significant trade for a more long term upgrade? Or do you chance it with Pastornicky.
McCann and Ross need to stay the Braves catching duo with McCann getting more days off early in the season. He is beat.
Heyward needs to play fall or winter ball and really work on fixing his swing. Would someone please get him to stand closer to the plate?? Next year is huge for Heyward. He will either reestablish himself as a prime time talent or he will move down the road of overhyped busted prospect
Face it folks..we are a team of destiny…..we cant give this wildcard away
This actually made me smile
Why did Fredi pitch Lowe tonight? He should have started Medlin for at least 3 or 4 innings. There something about this manager I don’t like. Where is Smoltz, Pendleton, Nixon, Bream, Lemke, or other old Braves at to give these bums a pep talk and remind how the Braves in the 1990’s rose to the occasion to get to the playoffs winning 5 NL pennants and a World Series? These guys have no spunk or drive it seems.
Oswalt hasn’t pitched this well in a few years, he’s been good but hasn’t had quite the same movement as he does tonight. With that being said, I might get sick to my stomach when the entire team tips their figurative caps to him.
Astros win probability at 96% on fangraphs.
Brett Myers is pitching Tomorrow I like there chances
Once again Lowe gave us zero chance of winning. Automatic L.
If the Cards lose to Houston they choked worse than the Braves lol
Well, Houston may prove me wrong. Hurray!
Lowe, not so much.
September 27th, 20118:56 pm
Crowd chanting “Let’s go Hous-ton,” here at Turner Field. ‘Stros up 5-0 in 3rd over Cardinals
Chipper Jones pimpin dem ho’s! tellin em all to lay down! He loves Amaro so much! Quit Chipper, get out go hunting!
phredd, of course he is, otherwise he wouldn’t be here.
This team has a bunch of tin men in the lineup right now- no damn heart!
Teheran looks awesome btw
Besides seeing the braves somehow back themselves into the playoffs, I would also take great joy in the phillies being upset in the first round.
Teheran – game 3 starter?
I’ve been refusing to pile on lowe this year, thinking he’d be better down the stretch, but he’s been worse. He can’t pitch another game if it comes to that.
T for Texas
All of this pain and angst may have served a purpose, as now I doubt we will see Lowe make a postseason start.
Teheran looking pretty good.
Bruce Bochey managed the All Star game this year.
Because he told Zito, “Can’t win with you. No hard feelings.”
I’d rather have Barry freakin’ Zito on the mound tonight than Derek Lowe.
What a joke.
C-Mart move failed last night
Lowe over Teheran failed tonight
I bet my house Teheran would have done better.
September 27th, 20118:57 pm
Slim to None and Slim Left Town
No. What good will it do to get all p*ssed off and demand this person or that person lose their job? All that will accomplish is stressing myself out, and I have plenty of other, more important things that do that already.
Que sera sera…
im really not worried…i have faith in my team…..which is a lot more than i can see for the fans on this blog….cant say i blame you though
Shame on McCann for staying in box too long while his bloop hit the line. He should have been at 2nd. Those are the mistakes losing teams make. Sorry to say it doesn’t seem to make any difference. This is not a championship caliber team. In fact they are on the verge of losing to every division opponent series to finish the season. Actually looks like they are backing into the playoffs eventhough they have a one game lead. Ironic.
I agree 100%
If the Cards lose 2 to Houston, they have no excuse.
It sucks that we are hoping the astros save our sorry @sses again. Just to stay 1 game ahead, when instead we should be winning and clinching. How far does anyone see this team going? Honestly?
Teheran is looking strong. Seems like there is a couple more MPH on his fastball and his pitches are moving better than that last relief appearance. Maybe he was at his innings max. Hope he finishes the inning strong.
Couldn’t type fast enough – high fastball to Jimmy Rollins.
great so we might have to suffer through two more games now?
OK SORRY ABOUT THE JINX. That being said we should probably hold off on the Astros winning this game in the 3rd inning.
I’ve never seen a damm wild card race where both teams don’t give a crap about winning! MERCY
I think if the Stros sweep, they ought to be the wild card since they will have earned it.
September 27th, 20118:58 pm
Shame on McCann for staying in box too long while his bloop hit the line. He should have been at 2nd
So he could have been stranded in scoring position, rather than on first?
we will win this game….and you guys will be devestated
“Crowd chanting “Let’s go Hous-ton,” here at Turner Field. ‘Stros up 5-0 in 3rd over Cardinals”
That’s embarrassing. I’m sure the Phillies are all snickering about it in their dugout. We can’t take care of our own business so we are begging the Astros to take care of it for us? Pathetic.
I’m not even gonna get mad at any more Philly runs. I’m just rooting for Cardsfan
uh..forget that last comment lol
Teheran definitely does not look like anything other than a great minor league pitcher.
We’ve been outscored 11-0 since we took 2-0 lead in the early part of the game last night
Braves fans are saying let go Houston and Cards fans are saying let go Philles
Can’t wait to get into playoffs and face these Phillies in NLCS. We’ll get em boys.
Cards fan can’t spell devastated! damn Missouri education…
September 27th, 20118:59 pm
has Fredi lost this team? Sure seems like a lot of people have quit
7-0. Let’s try them to keep them out double digits.
cardsfan, in denial.
I’ll promise you one thing. Lowe will not be on the playoff roster. If there is one.
McCann didn’t go to second because he knew we were terrible with RISP.
P B Orr
DOB said “Oswalt struck out Heyward to start inning and Bourn to finish it, and neither of them swung at a pitch. Heyward looked at all four pitches, Bourn looked at six.” Yeah, that’s basically it in a nutshell. Either they just stand there playing with their batting gloves, or hack away at balls. Do they have anyone who can act as a batting coach? And how may different pairs of batting gloves does Heyward own? Make him take them off. “Take off your batting gloves dude.” Anything to break the spell. Wear a garter belt.
Last time I read, they were still trying to choose between the 2, but since the Braves will still be alive and kicking, I think they will go with Kendrick, just a hunch.
It will be interesting to see how St. Louis responds in this half inning.
September 27th, 20119:00 pm
The most important game of the year and you start your worst starting pitcher who has been horrible his last 15 starts to the tune of a plus 6 ERA and a 4-11 record. The fact that FG started him is all I need to know — FIRE FG Thursday when their season is over.
Just witnessed a triple play, Rusell Martin grounds into a bases loaded triple play
Rays just turned a triple play!?!
