Hanson’s ready for “instructs” in Florida after third bullpen

Tommy Hanson threw his third and final bullpen of the week and now plans to head down to Orlando to make a start in the Braves’ instructional league as he continues his comeback attempt.

The Braves are holding out hope he could give them another option in the postseason rotation but need to get him in a game before the season ends to find out if he’s ready.

Hanson hasn’t pitched since Aug. 6 because of an undersurface tear in his right rotator cuff. After Sunday’s 30-pitch bullpen, Hanson said his shoulder continues to hold up well.

“Felt good,” he said. “My command isn’t quite there obviously, just throwing a couple sides, but it’s not far off. I realize what I’m doing wrong, and I’m able to make adjustments. It’s just getting back out there and throwing to live hitters.

Need Hanson back, he’s a big game picture with his nasty stuff.

Need to get Chipper on the bus too. He says that he’s not a #2 hitter, because he’s a guy that hits homers…hate to break the news HOSS, but you’re not the player you used to be (when you’re actually playing, that is). Somebody needs to muzzle him when the press is in the clubhouse. Freddy runs the show now, no more puppetteering with ‘Ole Bobby anymore.

I am not a Hanson fan, his velosity is down to 90-91 mph plus he cannot hold runners combined with B/Mac’s throwing arm means any walk or single puts a runner in scoring position automatic, trade him ASAP.

Tomohawk chop, you’re a fool. Chipper has consistently played just about all year, delivered big and is one of the reasons we even have a shot in the post season. He’s hitting 285 with 17 HRs and about 70 RBIs. He’s had a very, very good season.

I think he should be in the 2 hole myself. He’s perfect there. But he’s still a great three hitter, and is our most consistent hitter right now.

Hanson over Lowe

I would take a 75% ready Hanson over a 100% ready Lowe. If it were a fight, it would have been stopped…Lowe is done as a starter. Maybe mop up games…
