John A,
Constanza also has been given the toughest lefties to face. Before Fredi benched Stanz, for a while Jhey rode the bench when we faced tougher lefties.
The analysis that Constanza reminds people of how inept Fredi G and Wren are is spot on.
Constanza may be in a slump he can’t get out of since our coaches are of no help, but he has certainly EARNED the chance to try and get out of it.
How long is Stanz under contract? Can he go free agent after this year? anyone?
I have read comments about the Braves not having the fire for this.
Please quit talking about how the players haven’t tried or are not fighting hard enough. Keep in mind they are poorly coached and always playing against two foes. One is our opponents and two is Fred I Gonzales’ atrocious managing.
Never underestimate the role consistently poor managerial decisions can play in demoralizing a team.
Hey Fredi, next time bring in Linebrink to pitch to Kemp with a base open. How about it?
Hey, anyone notice that Westbrook’s stats, though he is a righty, showed that he gets eaten alive by RIGHTHANDED batters?
I am sure La Russa and the gang loved Fredi loading up with left handed batters against Westbrook so he could use his main out pitch, the change up most effectively.
The Braves have not really had all oars in the water all season. The injury bug has been rampant since breaking spring camp. These late injuries to the rotation along with this stagnant offense is hard to watch. Lowe shows signs of rounding into form again in time for October, though, and Huddy will be fine. If we can just get this offense to cranking down the stretch, maybe we can help the young arms step up. Good vibes are contagious for a team, same as a negative funk. They’ve got enough talent on the field and in the dugout, and baseball can get pretty strange after the regular season. The 2001 Mariners won 116 games and didn’t even make the ALCS. Let’s wear those rally caps, boys!
The Braves will be fine. The reason for the big lead in the wild card race was in case some guys got hurt and the team lost some games. They will start winning again and take the wild card. The more games behind Philly at the end of the season the sweeter it will be to knock them off in the playoffs.

That Fredi is on top of it, ain’t he?

Check that Mariner factoid, they made the ALCS, but not the big show. Still, anything can happen, and this team could ignite.
