How ya doing? I’m wondering what the issue is with Jurrjens. He seems to have the arm speed. Is his ball not moving? We can live with a bad game or two in early September, but we need our horses to run like horses, and not like donkeys!
cab, scar tissur should not be a problem this long.
It should actually be good for the healing.
Suck it up
August 30th, 20119:26 pm
And, Heyward has two RBI’s; so, what do we say now?
JJ needs to go on the DL.
The Nats are a pesky team and they give the Phillies fits also.
I would assume that Vizcaino will continue the theme of the night and struggle tonight.
August 30th, 20119:27 pm
Just think, if all the guys on here formed a team, Hell they would be 162-0.
Just ask yourself this question, do you produce A+ work everyday on your job??? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
You know earlier on the year I saw JJ throwing 88, and everything I know about baseball is telling me this guy sucks, he doesn’t have a bunch of movement his location isn’t really that good, but he finishes with a 1.89 ERA in the first half, okay maybe I was wrong and his stuff might be sneaky or something. Now we’re seeing the JJ I thought we would see if he continued to throw 88
August 30th, 20119:28 pm
He might not be hurt. Most pitchers are not Greg Maddux, and do have bad stretches from time to time. We really don’t know, to be honest.
Where you serving up there? My middle son is at Langley working on the CIA’s servers (internet stuff) for the AF.
A Braves blog, and someone is complaining that Glavine talks about pitching too much?
I’ve seen it all……….the history of our most successful era announcing for a current era in which pitching is our strong point. If you don’t like pitching, you don’t follow the Braves.
Drafting 1st every year certainly helps
August 30th, 20119:30 pm
What Happened? What I miss? I was cooking
Man, Braves are getting their stool pushed in by the Nats. Doc and the fightens are cruising a long. Hehehehe
Hi! If I knew how to fix JJ, I would be making a lot of money
Suck it up? Yeah, let him go out there and throw with pain in his arm. That certainly won’t lead to other problems. And the problem was that, because it was causing pain, he was forced to stop throwing for a couple of weeks. Which, of course, pushed his rehab back a few weeks.
August 30th, 20119:32 pm
Gonzo and Heyward are coming out of their funk! And Viz is getting ready to give up 3-4 runs (so the Nats get it out of their system).
Might have to update my final score prediction, huh?
Prado just hasn’t been the same player since the Bourn trade.
I hope that we can score more than 2 runs and Lowe doesn’t give up 5 runs in 4 innings. Let’s get the 80 win tomorrow.
August 30th, 20119:33 pm
Step away from the ledge, old man!
August 30th, 20119:34 pm
You can tune in Fox News buddy!!”
F-That Shyt! I’d Rather Watch MTV over that Crap and Thats Saying Something
get rocked again ,,, against that crappy team…. and against a guy who have a drug case open in puerto rico, under accusations of clean the money from a mob gangter… GIVE ME A BREAK…
To the earlier poster…yes, Bourn does take some gawd-awful routes to some balls, jumps before he has to, etc. Not the most natural center fielder. I’ll still take him at the top of the order.
Three times through the order again Hernandez, and the Braves could not get to him…what should we expect against Halladay, Hamels, and Lee?
August 30th, 20119:35 pm
Prado has been struggling since he returned from his injury. He has shown a few flashes of his old self, but this just hasn’t been his year.
I’d love to see Freddie get him a day or two off, and maybe he could have a killer September???
Sorry guys. I had more faith in last year’s BRAVES even though this year’s Braves (at least on paper) have much more upside.
If we don’t fix our pitching problems, we won’t stand a chance against the BREWERS in round 1.
TB braves fan
just get 4 this enning hold them get a walk off in the 9th OH YES>
August 30th, 20119:36 pm
Good Points in that 925 post That I will Co-Sign On about Double J Struggling now as opposed to Choptober
C’mon now, you gonna hurt my poor little wingnut feelings!
Prado just looks…slow. Slow running, slow bat, slow to react in the field to balls. LIke he is operating at about 3/4 speed.
Vizcaino is awesome, I hope this reliever role is just a temporary thing. I want the Braves rotation to be, Hudson, Beachy, Teheran, Minor, and Delgado or Vizcaino
This game is over…why didn’t Fredi put Sherril or Linebrink in the game already?
August 30th, 20119:37 pm
I’m calling it: 10-9 Braves in 10 innings……… You heard it here first!
DS1 – it has been established you positive outlook will make 4 to 6 losers become Negative Nellies permanently. Watch it will ya? We got way to many already!
PS – Did you see any of the Tour of Utah?
August 30th, 20119:38 pm
Are the Phillies winning?
Wow we look so dead tonight. Everybody looks whooped!
August 30th, 20119:39 pm
I blame cab.
I can’t wait until we have Vizcaino, Delgado, Minor, and Teheran in the rotation full-time with Huddy, Hanson, JJ, Beachy, and Lowe. It’s gonna be great.
fols, I’m complaining about Glavine talking about pitching because that’s all
he talks about. He injects nothing else to the broadcast.
I’m sorry, but Glaavine is dry as dust.
DOWN ON THE FARM
Last game for the rookies.
WILL SKINNER distinguished himself in limited AB’s this season [.300 BA, .853 OPS]
CLINT WRIGHT [0.00 ERA, 0.68 WHIP] did well pitching in very limited action [8 G, 8.2 IP].
‘Iggy’ GERONIMO [2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP] performed well in 10 appearances with one start. He’s a DSL grad.
JEAN CARLOS GIL [2.91 ERA, 1.18 WHIP] 13 appearances,10 starts. He’s a DSL grad.
What did I do??????
August 30th, 20119:40 pm
Thanks a lot Jair. You suck.
As much as I usually loathe Chip Caray…Glavine and Simpson without Chip to inject some energy are pretty much un-listenable.
August 30th, 20119:41 pm
Secretly, that is my intention. I am a closet Negative Nellie that loves to bring others over to the dark side.
Tour of Utah
To be perfectly honest, until you mentioned it (and I just googled it), I had never heard of the Tour before…….
“Are the Phillies winning?”
That’s a rhetorical question, right?
August 30th, 20119:42 pm
Even I have to say that people think the sky is falling tonight? Its One Game
And I called it that the team was due for a letdown series. This isn’t the 1993 team people who had to fight and claw everyday or lose out on the postseason. Its 1 game
Thankfully this game is nearly finished. It has been miserable to watch.
JJ said that Javy Vazquez was a good influence for him during his stint with the Braves. Maybe JJ is trying to copy Javy Vazquez and that is the reason that is giving up so many HRs. In all seriousness, this start is eerily similar to Hanson last start. There is got to be something wrong with JJ too.
Big Decision Time: Mexican, Italian or Burger?
cab – you made the hurricane come and scare JJ so he stunk it up thus causing panic and aggravation on the blog.
August 30th, 20119:43 pm
Vizcaino is a stud. He is dominant in the bullpen but I would love to see him transition back to a starter in the next year or two
Can’t go wrong with Mexican.
I've been working o the RR
The good news………., Football season is almost here.
When the Philies loose, they loose…., when the Braves loose, they get annihilated to the point that they look worse than Clark Middle School.
I stand by my prediction, Braves loose the Wild Card and wind up sub 500…………………
Corporate teams have no soul..
The starting pitching has fallen off a cliff. People have reason to be concerned
I did? That’s…I never knew I had that much power…
August 30th, 20119:44 pm
Before Crazy asks- it’s been a week since Kimmie has pitched…
It’s too bad that more bloggers don’t realize that a team (except for the Phillies) will go cold from time to time. But that a team with a lot of talent will do pretty well overall. And no doubt we do have a lot of talent.
OK folks, help me with my dinner choice……….. You’ve got until the end of the game to register your vote.
August 30th, 20119:45 pm
I know Kimbrel needs to pitch, but not in a meaningless situation like this. When you get used to being amped up, with the pressure on, it’s hard to come out and perform in this situation.
Come on Fredi!!!!!
Embarrassed by the Mets and now the Nats. The body language of the Braves is terrible. I’m getting really worried again. Been back into my Jack Daniels since the fourth inning.
kwajbraves – Vazquez has thrown 7 shutout innings tonighs with 6Ks. Too bad Jurrjens is not emulating Vazquez right now. JV has pitched really well here lately
August 30th, 20119:46 pm
Big Decision Time: Mexican, Italian or Burger?
Might I recommend a burger, topped with jalapenos — and a plate of pasta on the side?
I dunno, cab. I just wanted to be like everyone else and blame someone or something. Congrats.
Kimbrel’s going for an MLB rookie record 41st save tonight.
So you’d rather let him sit in the pen until that situation arises, not knowing when that will be? That’s worse than pitching him in a non save situation…
a mexican burger brushetta sounds great
DS1 – a good burger beats anything
I’ve been working on the RR
I guess that means we are a bunch of loosers, huh? Crime shame!
August 30th, 20119:47 pm
Tom! Hi Tom! Sophee’s being mean to me…
August 30th, 20119:48 pm
August 30th, 2011
“Are the Phillies winning?”
That’s a rhetorical question, right?”
I had a Spanish Pork Chop, fried mozzarella cheese, and a jalapeno popper for dinner.
Now this would be the night for Kimbrel to give up 3-4 runs……
Tom and menlo: You guys trying to make things hard for me?
August 30th, 20119:49 pm
I hate to say this..But D Lowe may be our number one starter in the plaoffs at this rate
Enter your comments here
I blame my eee’s too. They’re fired.
Ooops…good nite loyal typists…
August 30th, 20119:50 pm
JJ looks like he’s pretty much done for the year…
Lowe has been done for a while now….
Tommy H is recovering from a rotator cuff tear, and may be out for the year…
So that leaves a two man rotation!
We won the game of strikeouts.
cab. i suggest a margarita followed by a pepto bismol
Why don’t you ever invite me over for dinner?? Maybe I’ll just go to the grocery store and bring back a boat load of junk food and nuke it in the microwave…..
White wine and a walk with the pup.
August 30th, 20119:51 pm
Because you live in Utah.
August 30th, 2011
Well if they come back and win he will get the “W”
double Checkers w/ cheese & bacon and an order of chili fries for dinner tonight.
August 30th, 20119:52 pm
How could we have the bases loaded with no outs and only score one run? *cough* Gonzo *cough*
Chipper’s a bum. $14 million for that crap.
Gonna Go Cook Coconut Shrimp, brb….
August 30th, 20119:53 pm
More incentive for you to come out here (as if you need anymore…after all, I’m here)- the great dive bar we found that is on the harbor and only serves beer. They have 80+ beers on tap and a really good happy hour. You’d love it
Hi, LAdy. I only step in when one of the guys is being mean to you. (I know better.)
DS1, sorry. Was just hoping to aid you with all of your culinary cravens. (At least those that you mentioned.)
Sabathia threw 129 pitches in six innings tonight. He’s in line for the win.
August 30th, 20119:54 pm
See, VJ, I’m learnin’
so you won’t be mean to Soph for me? I can’t. We are facebook friends
August 30th, 20119:55 pm
Last two games the Braves have been completely beaten in every way by the Mets and Gnats. While the Phillies take care of business. Does not increase one’s confidence for the post season.
cravens? his food is afraid??? of what being eaten?
VJ’s not here. And I can’t spell so no worries…
The ghost of Eric Gregg laughs a hearty laugh.
August 30th, 20119:56 pm
Careful what you wish for
Julio Teheran 2010 142 IP; 2011 to date 151 IP – you can have him for the playoff drive or the 2012 season, but in all likelihood not both
Randall Delgado 2010 161 IP; 2011 to date 149 IP – he has some innings left in him
This team better shape up. Nothing is guaranteed.
Sorry, noles. ‘teen ‘teen’s gotta earn ‘em. Maybe it will motivate him to go 5-5 with 3 HR’s and 16 RBI tomorrow.
Get it together, Prado.
C R A V I N G S
poor attendence. Hopefully the crowd is closer to the announced attendence than it is in Florida
cab, i’m typing this on a delta flight from minneapolis to sfo. while they have lots of gin and tonic, thank god, their food choices left something to be desired. hamburgers, pork chops, you name it, beat peanuts and pretzels. the fact that i watched gameday and saw our team get its butt kicked did not help my mood. i will have another g and t, thank you!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
