How ya doing? I’m wondering what the issue is with Jurrjens. He seems to have the arm speed. Is his ball not moving? We can live with a bad game or two in early September, but we need our horses to run like horses, and not like donkeys!

You know earlier on the year I saw JJ throwing 88, and everything I know about baseball is telling me this guy sucks, he doesn’t have a bunch of movement his location isn’t really that good, but he finishes with a 1.89 ERA in the first half, okay maybe I was wrong and his stuff might be sneaky or something. Now we’re seeing the JJ I thought we would see if he continued to throw 88

He might not be hurt. Most pitchers are not Greg Maddux, and do have bad stretches from time to time. We really don’t know, to be honest.

I’ve seen it all……….the history of our most successful era announcing for a current era in which pitching is our strong point. If you don’t like pitching, you don’t follow the Braves.

Suck it up? Yeah, let him go out there and throw with pain in his arm. That certainly won’t lead to other problems. And the problem was that, because it was causing pain, he was forced to stop throwing for a couple of weeks. Which, of course, pushed his rehab back a few weeks.

To the earlier poster…yes, Bourn does take some gawd-awful routes to some balls, jumps before he has to, etc. Not the most natural center fielder. I’ll still take him at the top of the order.

Prado has been struggling since he returned from his injury. He has shown a few flashes of his old self, but this just hasn’t been his year.
I’d love to see Freddie get him a day or two off, and maybe he could have a killer September???

Sorry guys. I had more faith in last year’s BRAVES even though this year’s Braves (at least on paper) have much more upside.
If we don’t fix our pitching problems, we won’t stand a chance against the BREWERS in round 1.

CLINT WRIGHT [0.00 ERA, 0.68 WHIP] did well pitching in very limited action [8 G, 8.2 IP].
‘Iggy’ GERONIMO [2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP] performed well in 10 appearances with one start. He’s a DSL grad.
JEAN CARLOS GIL [2.91 ERA, 1.18 WHIP] 13 appearances,10 starts. He’s a DSL grad.

JJ said that Javy Vazquez was a good influence for him during his stint with the Braves. Maybe JJ is trying to copy Javy Vazquez and that is the reason that is giving up so many HRs. In all seriousness, this start is eerily similar to Hanson last start. There is got to be something wrong with JJ too.

I know Kimbrel needs to pitch, but not in a meaningless situation like this. When you get used to being amped up, with the pressure on, it’s hard to come out and perform in this situation.

cab, i’m typing this on a delta flight from minneapolis to sfo. while they have lots of gin and tonic, thank god, their food choices left something to be desired. hamburgers, pork chops, you name it, beat peanuts and pretzels. the fact that i watched gameday and saw our team get its butt kicked did not help my mood. i will have another g and t, thank you!
