Bummer. Jurrjens is killing that trade value!!!
I seriously hope that we Just watched out Next 3rd Baseman Take Double J Deep!
August 30th, 20118:41 pm
threw those fastballs with anger, and two of them were over 90mph
Wow, Jurrjens is really stinking up the joint. At least there no doubt about who’s gonna win this game. It’s a cakewalk for the team with a losing record. And Lannan will do well against us tomorrow also. Losing to these guys is so old.
I cant stand all you people that make excuses for poor play. He is hurt, he is young , blah blah. Fact is JJ is very good, just like other guys who should not be playing.
Excuses Excuses, they are old
Jurrjens is nothing more than batting practice. Hopefully he can keep his ERA from completely skyrocketing so we can get some value for him this offseason. His mediocre stuff is getting exposed.
August 30th, 20118:42 pm
BTW – Heyward is 0 for his last 9 since the 3 straight hits vs. Chicago.
I’ll bet that Jurrjens bats for himself in the bottom of the inning.
August 30th, 20118:43 pm
I’m Not Mad
The Nats Always play us like Pennant Contenders in Aug/September because we let our guard down to them..
Its Their NLCS
I figured those scoring opportunities the Braves squandered would haunt them. Jurrjens has nothing anymore and the offense has been stagnant for the past couple of weeks. This team is just playing lethargic baseball right now. Thankfully they opened up a substantial lead in the Wildcard.
JJ’s 88 mph fastball was solid earlier this season when he was locating well. When he isn’t locating well, the Braves might as well put Pendleton out there to throw some batting practice to the opposition.
This staff is more than ready for the young guys to take over.
fastball hitting team vs Livan and Lannan not a good combo
Put Constanza back in the lineup. Let Jason work out his problems in the off season. The Braves are playing like fodder for the Brewers. You got to beat them before you can get to the Phillies.
August 30th, 20118:44 pm
Meanwhile, Roy Halladay just doubled in 3 runs to give the Phils a 6-0 lead…
16 runs by the Nats vs. Jurrjens in 16 innings in three starts since AS break
Washington hitters will be sliding up to the plate to get to Jurrgens if he stays in there.
I guess the game has been conceded
August 30th, 20118:45 pm
JJ was just plain lucky earlier, his location was never that good. Next year he better start throwing 93 again for his sake
Braves will be dragging the warning track before the next inning.
August 30th, 2011
OH My, 90 that is gas
efrim, cant say i am shocked. pretty much a carbon copy of his last start at wrigley sans the dingers.
August 30th, 20118:46 pm
And of course Fredi leaves him in.
Where does it say you have to throw 95 to be successful?
Tippin the cap early tonight.
Ya McFann, it’s all YOUR fault JJ now stinks like a diaper. Thanks for coming out of the closet.
August 30th, 20118:47 pm
JJ < Lowe.
Every time the Braves get a few days off, they suck to high heaven when they return. I wonder if they do anything at all to stay game ready?
And Halliday Hits a 3-Run Double for Philly. While we mail it in…
Tough Loss everyone
Alex is 5-52 with RISP and two outs? Is that a typo? Unreal. Just achingly awful.
Now Simpson is excusing this terrible game on the Hurrican 3 days ago. Oooooooook. How does that affect JJ’s suckness and our hitters not adjusting to a fat ass sloppy old pitcher?
Prado is really started to draw my ire. I just wish he would show some patience and walk more frequently. His value is solely tied to how well he makes contact.
Well, they had a 2.5 hour workout on Sunday from what I heard on the radio.
August 30th, 20118:48 pm
and of course the Phils are clobbering the Reds….
August 30th, 20118:49 pm
cabravesfan, name 5 guys that are aces and throw under 90 in this era, not the 90’s were pitchers benefited from huge strike zones. Only guy I can think off is Shawn Marcum, and he is not an ace
uga, yeah, if the sinker isn’t being located then that’s the end result. Give me the guy that misses bats…..
Down 5-1 in the bottom of the 5th, (coming off 3 days rest for every pitcher so pen is rested) and you let JJ hit?
Gotta question that one!
thats right jj go back out there son
NO MORE PARRISH
STARTERS ARMS ARE TIRED.
THE REAL BRAVES OFFENSE IS BACK.
Bring on the playoffs!!
Just doing a Yunel bit, but it’s no fun anymore because the Braves will ose to the brewers. But really what makes people hope the Braves can hang on to make the playoffs anyway
Fredi —-> Gotta tip your cap to the Nats tonight. Brewers will wax us if we make it.
I’m Gonna Hold off on Ripping Double J
He Is Pitching Injured If he gets Slapped like this by LA then I will be Ripping him…
Double J doesn’t pitch like this against a AAA team on a consistant basis unless he is injured….
August 30th, 20118:50 pm
About to lose three out of four games to three teams that we should beat easily. Hands down the most frustrating team in America to watch. Why ask the the fans to show to watch us play a below .500 team when the team won’t.
Good Lord! He hit That Shyt To Athens!
95 is better than 86. 86 down the middle must be a quality pitch in your bizaro world. Power arms WIN!
Hey Bobby Lite. Are you just giving up?
Kinda figured I’d log on tonight and see a lopsided score favoring the AAA Nats. The Braves wouldn’t be the Braves if they didn’t suck it against Washington, look like zombies after a day or two off, suffer damage from a BMac error, and leave an army of guys on base–most of them by Agone.
But, there is still much to be optimistic about. WC is a lock.
the Nats, seriously???
THIS IS PATEHTIC MAN.
JURRJENS IS JADED.
WHERE ARE JURRJENS SUPPORTERS?
THERE WAS A TIME WHEN PEOPLE WERE COMPARING HIM TO HALLADAY
Who said anything about an ace? I said successful. You can be successful and throw less then 95.
August 30th, 20118:51 pm
Fredi just having him take one for the team here.
Too bad about Tommy and JJ. We had a real chance to win the WS with them healthy and pitching well. Not much of a chance without those two and especially not if JJ continues to pitch like this. Oy.
Yeah, I’d say you could probably go get him.
How many more Fredi? It’s not like you’ve used your bullpen the last three days.
With Double J…
Everything thing is UP!!!
It’s officiall! JJ is a complete joke..Flash in the pan
what’s worse..watching the game or listening to Simpson…the Reds are being 1 hit by Halliday
August 30th, 20118:52 pm
We had a chance to fire Parrish around the all star break but passed. I believe making that move would had fired up this offense. I’m pretty sure this will be the offense that shows up in the playoffs against really good starters.
86 down the middle must be a quality pitch in your bizaro world.
When did I indicate that? If you throw 95 down the middle, it’s going to get hit a long ways too.
JJ is our Heyward on the pitching staff. Young and shyty!
Who cares. DL JJ and bring Teheran or Delgado in his place. Cant be any worse than he is. Come on, he’s lost like he’s never pitched an inning in the majors. Just fake him an injury and be done with it.
Well I guess Livan can stop throwing so hard now that he has a 6-1 lead…. we can now see some less smokin fastballs down from 70 to 68 or even some 65 mph… those should be a little bit easier ya think????
What a joke .. .we cant hit this lollypop throwing fatbastrd.
What Glavine is trying to say is …………….JJ SUX.
Braves should be ashamed of there self the fans wait for three days to see this mess.
August 30th, 20118:53 pm
“THIS IS PATEHTIC MAN.
JURRJENS IS JADED.
WHERE ARE JURRJENS SUPPORTERS?”
I’m here because we are not paying him much! If it were Blowe then it would be a different scenario
95 will miss more bats than 86. JJ is proving that.
It’s fun taking 6 or 7 vs San Fran and Arizona but it’s these match-ups against bottom feeders that will continue to make me cringe. This team has the ability to win as often as it has the ability to mail it in. I’d like to see a little more killer instince but what can you do when the bases are loaded and you follow it with Agon, Heyward, Pitcher? Teams should just walk us to get to that.
The Nats just took 2 out of 3 from Philly…
And yes… JJ is over the middle too much thanks Tom Glavine for pin pointing that for us on TV. Time off again was not kind to JJ.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
August 30th, 20118:54 pm
I just felt it was time I came clean…
Haha! Sorry! Not sure why I’m so slow tonight… Can’t stand it when someone’s making a funny and I don’t get it right away…
Eleven in '11
Wow, this is just plain disappointing. Braves play crappy against Mets, then don’t play for three days, come back and play crappy against the Nats.
I guess they could still come back, but even if they win this game, this does not bode well with JJ being ineffective AGAIN
August 30th, 20118:55 pm
cabravesfan, but that shows that velocity is a major part of success.
JJ all of the sudden became a 38 year old pitcher
Stizz I thought they took 2 out of 3 and just loss 6 in row before coming here according to the talking heads here on Peachtree.
Braves Fan In NJ
Hate to say it because I like the guy but JJ is horrible now!!
doesnt matter NO MORE, we kill quality pitching. its the crappy pitchers we cant hit. See Fridays game in New York as an example.
The most frustrating team in America to watch? Not even close.
Ever followed the Cubs? Or in football, the Lions? The Bills from 90-93? Or my beloved Rams from 2005-2009?
The Braves are nowhere near as frustrating.
100 pitches for JJ now. Most of which were blasted.
The Ripping of Double J on Here is amazing!
I only Drink The Kool-Aid If its Mixed…But you guys are Ripping Double J as If he is making Lowe’s Money
With That said Its alarming because Double J pitching injured like this in Choptober =’s 1st round exit!!!
August 30th, 20118:56 pm
When did I indicate that? If you throw 95 down the middle, it’s going to get hit a long ways too.
It’s sad that idiot Chris doesn’t know that when we had an example of it on our team this year in Scott Proctor. Location is everything and JJ just looks like slop right now.
Two horrible games in a row by this team!! WTF!!!!
It’s easy to hate on Pitching because the cupboard is full………..if AGON does anything with the bases loaded nobody out, this could be the exact opposite ball game. Disappointing.
What is that 1 run in 15 ennings is that right?
August 30th, 20118:57 pm
I hate the fact that this offense can’t hit Livan
Hate to agree with you Braves Fan in NJ … JJ is not the same dude he was. Gotta hope he gets his act together soon.
Don’t bother, cab. At least Jason gets a break tonight.
Yeah Tommy! Cross it out!!!
X X X X all all of those Nats!!!!
“95 will miss more bats than 86″
that’s what I meant that they are capable of beating good teams.
August 30th, 20118:58 pm
Not much of a chance without those two and especially not if JJ continues to pitch like this. Oy.
Still time to get it right, Jason. I still believe the team can win it all with that pen and offensive potential.
TB braves fan
This would not be so bad if we could get a run here and there.
Brb, I watching old Martin
DANG those four days off!!!
August 30th, 20118:59 pm
you could survive with 95 down the middle, 88 no
Dont be mad. Your boy Heyward will be ok. He will have a nice life when his overrated ass gets released by the Royals.
Dont be mad.
Good move sitting Constanza tonight. Why give the Braves a spark?
August 30th, 20119:00 pm
I really like Glavine over Chip right now. Only Positive note.
McFann, Go get a refund before it’s too late!!! Get a Freeman shirt/jersey instead. You gotta like Fab 5 F.
Holy God! I wish these announcers would stop praising the shut outta Livan. He ain’t shyt. He’s just pitching against a team that sucks against losing teams.
It’s games like this I really wish Love Boat was still on……..
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
