Its very frustrating to watch the Braves offense. After the Braves go down 1-2-3 in the first, the strategy turns into pitching around Uggla, Jones and Freeman so that Sea Bass can 1) Hit into a double play, 2) strike out or 3) pop up weakly either foul or inside the infield. Then they can focus on getting to Heyward who will most likely strike out or ground to second and then they have the pitcher. Rinse and Repeat.

It seems like its all to often that a Brave will rip a ball down the line just to have it go mere inches foul and its usually with runners on base. Is there some kind of freaky karma that prevents the ball from at least touching the line? Maybe its the same karma that puts the team into a funk right about this time every year.

I agree with others on here who posted about calling the young guns up before the deadline to set the post season roster. I remain faithful that the pitching will turn it around…but I hope to see the Braves play it safe.

If you look closely at JJ, he’s FAT. And getting fatter. In this heat, not being in shape is a killer. We have McCann – fat. We have Hinske – fat. We have Prado even beginning to look – fat. Chipper isn’t exactly lean but he ain’t – fat. FF could stand to drop about 5 pounds.

I’m being nitpicky, but the entire dang team looks like it’s starting to run out of gas, even with numerous days off.

Out of shape will equal out of mind come october when the very out of shape Prince Fielder lights us up….

Who scouts the Nationals for the Braves? Perhaps we should try someone else.

I don’t know why Wren didn’t just shell out the $2M back in December. But no, he had to sign Joe Mather.

Hey Braves. It is time to stop the same old sing song comments. Try a little bit of honesty to the fans and most of all yourselves. The team stunk it up last night. Pitching was very bad and hitting was even worse. When will you learn to hit outside pitches to the opposite field. You can not pull every pitcher and you can not always try to hit homers. The little league players put on a better display of hitting than you pull happy clowns. Play baseball not homerun derby.

What are we going to do with Matt Diaz? We already have a crowded outfield. Is he the new backup for Freddie Freeman?

Rosters expand from 25 to 40 players tomorrow. I am guessing Diaz will strictly be a pinch hitter.

Poor Gwinnett is going to lose all their pitching studs.

Just what the hell do we want with Diaz, we already have a bench full of hitters that can’t hit. Another thing is that he is suppose to be on the team tonight which means he will be occuping a roster spot for the playoffs that Gartrell or Gomez could fill.

Only way I can forgive this stupid move is if the player to be named later would be LINESUCK.

Diaz is batting .295 vs lefties this season, which is better than everyone on our team except Constanza.

Always liked Diaz…glad to have him back. He can’t be worse than Prado has been the past month.

Is it me or Prado is having a hard time hitting behind Bourne? seems like when bourne gets on base, Prado tries to hard hitting the ball to the opposite field and its messing up his swing.

the braves need to start winning lots of games…not for the ending record but for confidence and momentum….can’t limp into playoffs and expect to play well there….like last year

Can only hope that J.J. is just rusty from his time off as he needs to get his fast ball back up to 93-94 consistently in order to be effective, Lowe has pitched better in his last 2 starts so I am not worried about him, lets see how the next 5 games go before you get into panic mode as this is by far the best team we have put on the field in quite some time and the Nationals are not as bad a team as some of you know nothings think, if throwing and hitting a baseball were easy then most of us would be major leaguers.

folks, i’ve been listenin’ to ya’ll gripe and whine when the braves lose and pronounce them as the greatest since sliced bread when they win. face it folks, this is a mediocre team in a mediorce league and i’ve been a braves’ fan since the 50s and an nl fan (i hate the dl) forever. they ain’t gotta shot against the phils, brewcrew, bosox, yanks and tigers and aren’t as good as the rangers and angels. jj is pitchin’ to form, hanson, with the funky delivery, was headed for the dl from day one, and prado is just a good utility player. good news…with a reduction in payroll, super (prado, jurggians,o’flaherty, heyward and varvaro) trading chips, the future could be bright. not this year though. i hope the don’t embarass themselves in the playoffs as they have in the last 2 games.
