Being critical or pointing out shortcomings is not hate….Brava
when it is constant and aimed at the same player all the time or every time something goes wrong I think “hater” is a perfectly valid sports colloquialism for the situation

Agreed and I have to add when someone uses another player’s success to bash said player. (a la Freddie hits a homer and someone who I will refrain from naming goes on and on about how Heyward wouldn’t have done jacksh!t in that situation).
VJ – I was thinking more along the lines of the arc of a fly ball on a trajectory to clear an 8′ wall 380′ away vs. an 11′ wall 368′ away as opposed to a line drive…
Nolie – What’s up with the Braves players not being honest with manaement and trainers ?
1. Schafer never told anyone he was hurt or need extra treetment.
2. Nate – I’ve had a sports hernia and you can not do anything 100%. 70% is about it and then the pain talkes over and your gut blows open a little wider. Nate needs aggressive treatment to finally fix his bods and not some half ass remidy.PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE YOU BUY OUT HIS OPTION. HE MAY BE THE MAN NEXT YEAR.
3. Tommy Hanson – we’re a month away from playoffs. Find out if Hanson can be ready in 5 weeks. If not look to Viz, Tehe or Delgado
We’ve got 6 weeks to get the roster together. Have it done in a week so no one will feel rushed or any other pressure.
3. Hanson – is he hurt or not. We need a certified head trainer that will get these guys by the gonads and find out his conditionl,.
Can’t agree with you on the “haters” characterization, nolie. I don’t think very many fans actualy hate Jason Heyward, they are just very frustrated with his performance and lack of improvement as a ball player. Many of the ones who have been the most critical have also voiced support for him. Hate is a very strong emotion and it would take more than a baseball player’s poor performance to evoke it from a sane and rational person. I just don’t think it’s a fair term to throw on people that you disagree with.
can we please once again Manage the game for goodness sake… that score should be 5-1 … U freakin walk ramirez u bonehead.. why pitch to him.. then that ground ball goes to 2nd base. and inning over… my goodness freddie. now its a one run game…
Was it too much to ask for the Braves to cruise to a victory? Now I am unsure if they pull this game out. Also, what is the deal with the Cubs erasing big early deficits against the Braves. They were down 4-0 on Sunday, August 14 and won the game.
I love ya, man, but if you’re suggesting there is any scenario in which McLouth’s contract should not be bought out, well then Jed, I don’t even want to know you (random West Wing reference).
The Braves have been scoring runs immediately after the opposition a lot this season. That’s the sign of a good team, so if the Cubs want to make a statement, they need to get out of this half-inning with a bagel up on the board.
it’s a slang term Brava, but many on here are cruel and viscous in their comments and that qualifies as far as I am concerned. It gets really mean and nasty a lot.

I can’t see any way they pay Nate McLouth over 10 million dollars. I can’t see him getting more than a 1-2 mill contract out on the open market, if that. Perhaps a minor league deal.
I think your comments re: Jason have been fair. Supportive, but if we can do better. Play what we have, let Jason improve in AAA. All that. All reasonable.
