Nice job Heyward, you tool.
Kimmie needs to not give him anything good to hit on this last strike….
Linebrink for Cy
Jason a bit rusty in the field
THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN
Heyward, you $#%@$$#@%#
How bout J HEY What is it with this team
Nice game for heyward but that crap right there just stinks….
Oh, no. Kimbrel gave up a hit. He can’t possibly save this game now. No way. No chance. It cannot happen.
Come On Kimmie!
We Got This! WATCH! You Just WATCH!
JC from DR!
Of course…. what a F***ing headache this guy is…
wow just wow

Man Heyward has really taken a nose-dive.
Jason just continues to impress in RF.
Something tells me you’ll have another opportunity shortly, cab. Prepare yourself.
Nothing is ever easy. Wow.
That didn’t help his cause for Thursday.
I Gave Her Undertaker eyes
I’m done. Shutting down and hoping to see the last out before I turn off the TV. Night, all.
Heyward loafed and looks like a AAA player pursuing that fly–sad.
Never would have guessed who would have been first to pounce in the right fielder…
Playing “no doubles” often causes the equivalent of doubles.
Heyward should have played that better, true, but still… normal depth and the game’s over.
And all of his hits are for nothing. What a bum that Heyward is………
DIVE DIVE DIVE…not like that ball gets past you…
think I’d slider this guy to death right here
August 23rd, 201110:59 pm
Kimbrel TIES Feliz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at how easy it has been for Kimbrel. Really damn easy.
nasty sliders by Kimbrel
Great job, Craig!!!!
F you Ramirez!
Woohoo!!!! Braves win!!!!!!!!
Kimmy. Ball game
Rookie record: Tied.
Kimbrel ties Feliz.
Mark that Tex trade down as a “win.”
1 more for the record. The Braves only real strength is the bullpen, and DAMN Gonzo for not using them earlier. Disaster averted.
Kimbrel doesn’t even blink.
Neftali Feliz who? Oh yeah, we had him once. Long time ago though.
The kid continues to amaze.
August 23rd, 201111:00 pm
seeing Kimbrel should take some of the sting away from those of you who still like to bring up the Tex trade (though I would still love to see Andrus as a Brave)
40 saves…..Braves win.
Why in the world would he dive except to make an idiot blogger think something positive had occurred?
And everything is okay because Tyler Colvin is pretty terrible.
BALLGAME F@&*ING GAME!! Can’t believe the negative “fans” on here. Unreal.
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
Oh!! That was BEAUTIFUL!!! CONGRATS, Kimmie!!!
Ace of a closer throwin bullets BB’s
Here we go, all the folks that were quiet when Jason hit the grand slam have resurfaced…right on cue…go figure…
I like the no fastballs to that last bozo…made him look silly….
Congrats to craig, minor and jason….fine games!
all of a sudden j-hey becomes “good hit, no field”?
Kimbrel is a beast!
August 23rd, 201111:01 pm
The Tex trade was not a “win” in any universe I inhabit. We lost a starting catcher, a record-setting pitcher who’s still a kid, and a killer SS. For a rental.
Well done, Kimmeeee.
Chin up, Hey – keep it up.
CK did not have it tonight, never reached 100!
Thanks, T for Texas!
Don’t know the numbers, but I think we have a pretty good record whenever Glavine is in the booth.
Way to go Baby face
The first thing Jason says in the post-game interview is “How about that bullpen!”
BRAVES NUMBER 1
REALLY, JASON? YOU HIT A GRAND SLAM AND FALL ASLEEP IN THE NINTH WITH THE POP FLY?????????
August 23rd, 201111:02 pm
I like Heyward. He’s a good kid. I hope this is the start of some good things for him. He’s a teamer..
P B Orr We lost a starting catcher…
Yeah, ’cause we so totally need one of those…
C’mon, you know the truth doesn’t fly well here when it comes to hate towards the kid!
love j-hey there selling for playing time
good for Heyward. A productive Heyward would be huge for the BRaves
August 23rd, 201111:03 pm
Ah well, that’s all for me, folks! Good game…but scary!
Gotta love one run wins where we only use a third of O’Ventbrel.
Jason messed up a little there but so what….let him have his day….
We can rag him again tomorrow, whadda ya say?
Seriously, maybe a corner has been turned….he’s looking better….
August 23rd, 201111:04 pm
Shafer for stos 2-4 R SB
J-Hey batting in four runs today. That’s a good game.
You would never think our record is as good as it is if you were to pay attention to some of the clowns on this blog.
August 23rd, 201111:05 pm
Heyward’s line up to .224/.314/.402.
Watch out, now.
maybe j-hey can carry us for a couple of weeks. we can put constanza in left until prado wakes up.interesting situation .. who hits 8th?
FF sure is ugly but that kid can play some ball…
Ah yes—could you sign that autograph with a ‘bullpen’ Jason?
BRAVES NUMBER 1
Wow – yet another anonymous poster who doesn’t understand the difference between screwing up and falling asleep…
Freddie’s a trip. He’s so goofy.
August 23rd, 2011
Amen to that…
if Constanza is ready to play tomorrow, get him in there and give Prado or Bourn a rest day. Let Heyward get a back to back game to see if he can really get it going
Y’know, every time Kimbrel comes into a save situation, I expect it to be the time that he comes up a little short and blows a save. But sombitch, the kid just keeps on keeping on. He hasn’t given up a run in forever. 40 friggin saves to tie the major league record with a month to go to have it all my himself. He could very well set one of the most untouchable records in the history of the game before it’s all said and done. My hat is off to this kid. I wanted Venters to be the closer, but Kimbrel has made a believer of me.

August 23rd, 2011
So I guess you want him back?????
My wife wants know what’s the deal with all the snugglin and hugging going on with these Braves. I just told her winning makes people sensitve and lovey dovey I guess.
Stizz, Agree completely. This is a damn good team having a good year. Why all the negative experts on here? I don’t get it.
August 23rd, 201111:07 pm
Book our tickets to Milwaukee.
Who is Ryan Braun? Who is Prince Fielder?
They don’t stand a chance.
Another exciting finish, and another Braves win! No complaining from this corner. Good night and take care, everyone.
August 23rd, 201111:08 pm
All things being equal…
If heyward took off here, we’d be nearly impossible to beat…every single game.
Martinez threw 20 pitches, 19 of which were strikes? hmmm
J-Hey Is getting Ripped On Here! Don’t people understand he was playing No-Doubles/Zone Defense there?
If you are not excited about this team after tonight, you need to stop following the Braves. Tonight’s game is one that would have been lost in recent years.
16-16, .500 the rest of the way gets us a 94-68 record.
August 23rd, 201111:09 pm
I still think Proctor should’ve closed…
Good night all…it was fun.
no I just hope he makes a comeback not against us though
August 23rd, 201111:10 pm
Phil, We were saying the same “big if” about Uggla 6 weeks ago. Heyward could get hot! And it would be a very good thing!
I wish this blog existed back in the mid-to-late ’90s. It would have been hilarious.
Team is 15-4 in their last 19 but no one is talking about em because of the Brew Crew.
We’ll show em…..
August 23rd, 201111:11 pm
P B Orr – no one is saying the Tex trade was a winner. It was one of the all time worst trades. If the Braves win the World Series then it is even but that trade set us back ages, but the trade is in the past. no reason to revisit it all the time. The Braves have done a superb job rebuilding there farm through the draft and foreign signees. The Braves also have shown they have learned from that trade this trade deadline.
The Tex trade was like the Hershel Walker trade for the Cowboys. If Minnesota wins, or goes to the Super Bowl great. They didn’t and in the process helped build the Cowboys for their championship runs just as the Braves helped Texas get to the World Series last year as much as anybody
Good job by the bullpen. CMart, Viz and Sherrill. Minor wasn’t bad, either. Some lackadaisical plays early on, but I suppose you cannot be in the do-or-die mode all the time.
I don’t either. We chase them off from time to time, such as the case with Powder Blue.
However some idiots still remain.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
