Orr, Fredi did a fine job. Thinking he was trying to give Venters a day off, threw a lot of pitches last night and worked the day before as well. Can’t kill our relief. You wouldn’t understand pee wee ball apparently.
It’s just ridiculous to go through this. We’ve got stone kids in the pen with all the fire of the young and the stamina too, and some bald-headed poser who was never worth a damn as a player is worried about using them. It’s just plan stupid baseball and it’s gonna cost us in the end.
He’s got three guys with under 2 ERAs and he throw the two biggest choking losers at them in a critical game.
Them 3 guys lead the league in appearances Fredi is doing the right thing like it or not,you cannot run EOF,Venters and Kimbrel out there every damn night in August with a 9.5 game lead in the WC,If you want to be able to have them pitch in the playoffs.
Dad and Brother found them in Kansas this weekend (Brother starts school this week), they are YUMMY! Milk is good, though—with those 3 cookies, it helps to have them softened. Yeah, you gotta try them!
Yeah, I actually agreed with FG here. You can’t run those guys out every night. Plus, what’s the point of having an 8 1/2 game lead in the WC if you don’t rest your players a little.
nolie – from a gas perspective do you worry more about jonny who faded about this time last year or craig who hasn’t had this workload at the major league level before?
Hubby has already gone to bed. Means I probably won’t sleep again tonight. Finish this game off quickly boys so I can be in bed by 11:15 or so. Damn, 5 a.m. is going to come early.
Remember last year when our bullpen got tired?? Don’t be an idiot, we have an 8.5 game lead no need in killing the bullpen. A rested bullpen going into the playoffs gives us the advantage we need against a team like the Phillies.
Another thing Fredi is accomplishing by pitching these guys in a tight game is building some confidence (visciano esp) …..C- mart and Visciano to go along with Sherrill for 6th and 7th inning duty just makes the braves better.
