‘Tomahawkin, you’re absolutely right about Glavine. Remember when he threw at Dale Murphy after Murphy was traded to the Phillies?”
Exactly! We are in a Pennant race and Some of the Hardcore Kool Aid Drinkers in here still don’t get that! Obviously many of these cats don’t watch football. What Big Z did was Bush league and uncalled for
Glavine in that game had to retialiate to get the respect from his teammates that year and drilled Dale Murphy because Nixon was drilled in the same game
Let Zambrano and his antics speak for themselves… after we just sat through a montage of classy organization talk etc… we are not going to do anything except win the game and keep this game what it is going to be a win and a great night to honor Bobby Cox. Let the fool named Big Z be the only CUB highlight. No retaliation needed. Sometimes its best to let the embarassment be left in the other dugout.
T, Glavine didn’t exactly drill Murphy as you state. He threw at him with a curve ball. I don’t recall if Glavine even hit him or not, but he threw a curve at him & was tossed.
Can you imagine our lineup potential when McCann comes back? Bourn is over .300 as a Brave, Constanza is over .400 as big leaguer, and we all know how well, Freeman, Chipper, and Popeye are playing… I’m excited.
Tomahawkin, I don’t think I am drinking any Kool-Aid, in fact, I don’t even like kool-aid all too much, but I don’t see any reason to retaliate tonight. What message are we really sending to the Cubs by hitting one of their player’s who had nothing to do with Zambrano? In fact, I really don’t think many of the Cubbies like Carlos.
I said it two weeks ago! He may be a serviceable major leaguer for the rest of his career, or he may fade into oblivion next season and beyond. That said, Costanza is going to be one of the biggest reasons the Braves may go into the playoffs with a full head of steam. He and Bourn will hopefully be the start of something very good for the Braves that is huge in playoff baseball: the ability to hit to the opposite field, get on base, steal bases, and manufacture runs. These are the kind of players I hope to see replacing the likes of Gonzalez and Chipper – guys that use speed and the opposite field to create run scoring opportunities.
Bourn and Costanza are excellent situational hitters; hopefully, they will start to infect the likes of Gonzalez and others whose at-bats look like they have little baseball IQ. These two guys get “it”. Bourn and Costanza will do for the Braves what Ross did for the Giants last season.
I bet Frank is a happy fella. He has been adding speed through the draft and has to be basking in Bourn/Constanza production without having to wait till the draftees arrive

What kind of idiotic comment is this? Your ridiculous Kool-Aid comments are beyond stupid. Kool-Aid drinkers referred to morons who trusted a madman. Those of us who think this Braves team have a good chance at success are not the idiots who thought that Jim Jones was some sort of God-like figure. We recognize that this a flawed team, but we choose not to acting like immature little children. As has been pointed out this is not football – and it should not be. There are consequences to stupid actions (at least in the real world – not al;ways on a blog).

Even with the base hit, a nice, clean inning by VIZCAINO. Maybe he’ll come out again to pitch the 8th? Or do you send him to the clubhouse with the one good inning to build on?
