I think some of that had to do with the other wuss Ted Lilly – he carried a grudge from earlier and that overshadowed that series. Plus Soriano hangs over the plate and asks to be hit.

If the Braves charged the mound… would the rest of the Cubs team have even bothered to go out there? Maybe they would out of mecessity, but they might not bust hump to get out there or try real hard to protect him lol.

No retaliation called for. That was all on Zambrano. He tried to hit Chipper just after his coach went out to talk with him. I think he was trying to show up the coach. Zambrano is the Cubs problem not ours.

Let Zambrano and his antics speak for themselves… after we just sat through a montage of classy organization talk etc… we are not going to do anything except win the game and keep this game what it is going to be a win and a great night to honor Bobby Cox. Let the fool named Big Z be the only CUB highlight. No retaliation needed. Sometimes its best to let the embarassment be left in the other dugout.

Zambrano just showed that he has no respect for the game, none for his teammates and certainly no honor whatsoever. The Cubbies would be doing themselves a favor by suspending his @ss for a while. He’s a cancer and the Cubs won’t win much less succeed as an organization with his disease infecting their club.

SB, oh I am glad that Timmons stopped it, but it’s great to see how quickly teams will come out to protect their players.
Tomahawkin, and Myers beat his wife, not really a great example. However, there is really no reason for retaliation, since that will cause long term problems for the Braves.

Tomahawkin, I’m sure Hanson would have drilled someone, but it wouldn’t have been on purpose. Glavine wouldn’t have drilled anyone, because he wouldn’t punish a player for the antics of some fat, overgrown child throwing a hissy fit, because he can’t pitch.

My thoughts are with Big Ernie, one of the classiest guys I ever met.
I saw him at least 6 different times spend 2 hours teaching 9 year olds how to grip all the different pitches. He would answer any question they threw at him.

The only problem with that is that, I believe, you cannot replace someone that has been suspended on the 25 man roster- so we would have to send a reliever down and call up a young, inexperienced rookie to make at least one start with a shorthanded pen.
