I am a long time Niners fan. I will always believe that my team can win any game they play, and will always prepare myself for the inevitable 4th quarter collapse against the good teams (last year they lost to New Orleans, Atlanta, & Philly by a combined 8 points) and the inevitable blowout loss to the crappy teams (they lost to Carolina and Kansas City by a combined 24 points) where they look like a high school team against the ‘85 Bears… It’s part of being a fan.

That was a fun inning because the Braves scored a run with some power and they manufactured a run with some speed. I continue to like what Constanza brings to the lineup even if Heyward is undoubtedly the better player. The fact remains that Constanza is actually doing something for the Braves.
Ha! That’s funny. As you might imagine, I am surrounded by band wagon Cubs fans on a daily basis, and I often tire of their Chicago-centric “expert” baseball evaluations. This year – finally, because the Cubs generally stink again – the chaff has been cleared a bit and the real Cub fans are more exposed again. It’s actually been almost pleasant to to go Wrigley again this year and talk baseball with the people around me.
Other teams’ pitchers have been giving us so much trouble at the plate this year. If there’s any pitcher in the league to really be afraid of with a bat in his hands, it’s ZAMBRANO. Good to get his 1st AB out of the way with no regretable damage. It sounds like MINOR is off to a good start tonight.

I really dislike it when Braves pitchers fail to throw a shutdown inning. Thankfully the lead is still in the Braves favor, but I would love to see how many runs Braves pitchers have allowed in the inning immediately following a run scored.
The first line of that “Go Cubs Go” song is, “Go Cubs Go, Everybody whadaya say, the Cubs are gonna win today.” But they only play that song at Wrigley *after* the games the Cubs have already won. That’s what I call cautious optimism.
Ok, that’s the last disparaging word I’ll type and Wrigley and it’s fans. Promise.
