Bourn, 28, is regarded as a true leadoff man. He bats from the left side and has a .769 OPS this season to go along with a league-best 39 stolen bases in 104 games.

Bourn is earning $4.4 million this season and will receive a raise through salary arbitration in 2012 before becoming a free agent. Bourn is a Scott Boras client, so interested clubs will likely view him as a 1 ½-year acquisition.

If the Astros move Bourn, it’s logical that they would ask for a potential everyday center fielder in return. Among players on the active roster, Jason Bourgeois would be Bourn’s likely replacement. Bourgeois, 29, is having a career year, with an .836 in 52 games.

Will.I.Am and Ken are the same blogger.

Ken always says “Let’s talk baseball”. Not to mention Will mentions not coming on yesterday and saying anything about Pence.

Even if they’re not the same douche. They’re seperate douches, so it all adds up the same.

I am talking to anyone on here making stuff up. It is childish and annoying. But, I think Bravesfan2011 is full of crap. Even if we get Bourn, I don’t think he has inside sources. Maybe I am wrong. Great. But, I doubt it.

I was standing on my toilet hanging a clock on the wall, the porcelain was wet and I slipped and hit my head on the sink, and when I came to I had a vision! And thats when I came up with the idea of Bourn to the Braves which is what makes the 2011 World Series possible. Great Scott!!

“Bourn would be a better fit than Quentin or Pence?? Thats questionable.”

Why is that questionable? What’s more questionable is why Wren went after Pence to begin with.

What’s our biggest area of need?

Answer: Leadoff hitter.

What are the two positions we would like to replace, based on production from players at those positions?

Answer: CF or SS (though as some have said, if we were getting production from everywhere else we could live with defense only at these two spots).

But logically speaking, thoe are the only two spots that one would think Wren would “replace” based on who is taking up the other spots.

Whaddya Know? Bourn happens to be a gold glove caliber CF and a pretty damn good leadoff hitter.

The “fit” is perfect, and the only thing questionable about it, is why didn’t Wren target him right away and go get him?

Why not Franceour? 50 runs, 107 hits, 29 doubles, 3 triples, 13 HRs, 61 RBIs, 17 SBs ands a .271 BA, right handed bat who can play centerfield. Have the Braves and Wren closed the door completely on him? Why hasn’t Adam Jones’ name been brought up? Are we doomed to another wild card finish and a first round exit, because the Braves are going to a 7 man rotation in 2 years when Lowe and Hudson are gone? The 7 man rotation (Hanson, Jurrjens, Beachy, Minor, Tehran, Delgado and Vizcaino), they must be, because Wren thinks they are too valuable to trade. Lastly, what about a new shortstop now, not next year? Please, and we all thought that Franceour looked like an octopus falling out of a tree with his swing. Gonzo looks like he is totally clueless. Here’s a thought, try keeping your front shoulder in and hit the ball to center or right. But the same can be said for J-Hey, the league has figured you out, now you have to figure out the league.

I wouldn’t worry too much about this “Six untouchables” business. An untouchable for a rival team is not necessarily untouchable for a non-rival such as Houston.

I just think douchebags that post under other people’s monikers trying to pretend to be them, and those who blatently lie about stuff, should just be eliminated/banned (whatever you want to call it).

If the Braves get Ludwick, Crisp, or Willingham, I will give up on them this season just like they are basically giving up on their fans. Sorry, but Crisp is not the player that the Braves need to get things going again.

I wanted the Braves to get Pence, but if they got Bourn or Quentin instead, that wouldn’t hurt my feelings in the least. Both players could do wonders for the Braves for different reasons. Bourn with his speed, hitting ability, and defense, and Quentn with his power.

All I know is that the Braves need to do something of considerable size to show the fans that they are serious about contending this year and for years to come. If they get Crisp or Ludwick, it will tell the Braves fans that all they are doing is getting some second rate player because they are cheap and wanted to satisfy the fans request for adding a player. If they do that, they deserve to have the fans turn their backs for the rest of the season. We fans are the reason why they are paid so well, so they should be doing everything possible to please the people that make it possible for them to play a kids game and become millionaires in the process.

Actually, for a mid market team, the Braves spend a decent amount on the team. Money or spending is not what will bring a championship to ATL again. It’s smart scouting and level headed decisions.

Not neccesarily, 2 hot, the D’backs just picked up Jason Marquis and they’re only 4 gms back in the wildcard race with fully 1/3 of the season remaining. If the Braves stand pat with all the injuries, an anemic offense, and a tired bullpen they are far from guaranteed to make it to the playoffs.
