Click the link, see what happens. All I saw was phillies, giants, etc…No Braves
What are you doing on here? It’s game time man!
Don’t you know this is dangerous ground?
So Oberholtzer is 6-2 and weights 230. That kid looks like a block of granite. Holy cow do we ever manage to find some prospects.
This CantStanzYa kid SUCKS!

Why do the Phillies average nearly 20,000 fans per game more than the Braves ? Just curious.
Where is the phillies stadium? In a horrible neighborhood like ours? Doubtful….
hile Vin Scully is a legend, it seems wierd only hearing him talk. Almost feel sorry for him.
And that is why I get annoyed so easily by too many voices in the booth talking- I grew up with one voice.
that’s supposed to be go Pirates
Joe Simpson is a useless broadcaster. Can’t stand listening to this guy pretend to give analysis
“Why do the Phillies average nearly 20,000 fans per game more than the Braves ?”
Probably a combination of more populous metro area, greater population density, better public transportation, and more accessible ballpark location. Also helps that the owners are willing to spend big money; it’s easy to blame the crowd for the ownership tightening up but it works the other way around too.

Maybe Wren is thinking keep Minor, because otherwise that’s just another LHP for some other team that we won’t be able to hit.
For those that are clamoring for Quintin, I doubt that trade will take place while the White Sox have a legitimate chance for the playoffs. If we don’t get Bourn, we will take sloppy seconds again, just like last year.
That is Prado Hustle right there.
because there is absolutely NOTHING else to do in Philadelphia on a summer evening.
July 30th, 20118:19 pm
Dear njbraves, No I will not leave. I like this blog. It gives me a nice out of town perspective.
ok, let’s go Braves
HIS NAME IS FREDDIE FREEMAN!
Freddie Freeman is pretty good
The A Bomb
Be jealous of those from SoCal. We are superior.
Freeman is amazing
July 30th, 20118:20 pm
nolie, yeah – I don’t love Bourn, but I do think he fits what the team needs, which is a centerfielder. I bet Minor, Pastornicky, plus another is what they want. Not sure if Wren will pull the trigger there.
Nick, do us all a favor and stop posting.
JC from DR! (You gotta tip your cap to ____)
Freeman’s a monster!
Martin first to third on an FF hit for third time in 2 nights…
Simpson is an idiot….FF struck out repeatedly earlier in the yr…
A .396 BABIP.
He’ll keep that up.
Sorry, I got you mixed up with Philly Fanatic, trying to read and type without my glasses. I’m dangerous. Lot of Phiily folks on here tonight,.
That is the 3rd time in 2 days Prado has been on base and ended up on third with a single from Freeman. Those two batting back to back should stay together.
We have to come up with a good nickname for Freddie.
Start engraving the ROY trophy.
July 30th, 20118:21 pm
Can he do it thre times in a row?
Imagine if you had Bourn ahead of Prado and Freeman.
RJB in DC
Jerry- If there is a record for grounding out to second base, Heyward has to be getting close to killing that record.
Sorry Jerry. I am willing to bet that the club record for that (particularly in clutch hitting situations) will forever belong to Greg (GDP) Norton for his performance in the 2009 season.

“Why do the Phillies average nearly 20,000 fans per game more than the Braves ? Just curious.”
Becuase fans of Philadelphia sports teams tend to be more rabid than most.
Nick ,if you took the N off your name ,and put D there. You would be a dick……..

Are they counting homers in that balls in play average?
I am puzzled. The Rockies have a good core of players. Their challenge pitching wise is to find someone who is not intimidated by Coors Field and who can keep the ball down.
They find one in Ubaldo, and now they are talking about dealing him?
Does he have some serious warts or something?
July 30th, 20118:23 pm
Someone shut Joe Simpson up. Can’t stand this guy
I don’t think HRs are counted in BABIP
Freeman is hitting .394 (37-for-94) with six homers and 18 RBIs in past 24 games
Freeman really is something. Not going to be Joey Votto in terms of OBP ability, but Justin Morneau with better defense.
July 30th, 20118:24 pm
Cleveland set to acquire Ryan Ludwick!!!! Hell ya save Frank from that one!
Brave4life-1995 all over again??
Jimenez is currently out in the bullpen and warming up to pitch against the Padres according to Renck (on Twitter), so the deal may not be done yet. He could still pitch for Colorado before a trade is finalized, but teams traditionally won’t risk injury in this situation.
Man, I think Uggla, McCann, and Freeman can carry us all the way. I’m also tired of hearing that the Phillies got the best right handed available, not true, we did…in the offseason. His name is Dan Uggla. Man is killing the ball, and I love it. Freddie is also a machine!
why throw to 1st? is freeman really going to run with uggla at plate right now?
Hey, a DOB sighting
July 30th, 20118:25 pm
monty… No problem. I just like this blog and paper to give me an out of town perspective. I may talk some trash but for the most part I just reacting with fans other than the Phillies because I see them every day
I’ll just take FF the real ball player w/o all the comparisons…
I think the Rockies are selling high on him. He has not been good this year and they clearly don’t want to wait around to see if he will return to form. They got, from what I understand, two big time prospects from the Indians in return. Right now it is low risk, high reward for them. Now if Ubaldo returns to last year’s form, it might be viewed differently
Popeye could be NL player of the month in July… may not be, but a solid candidate.
Nothing Better than 3 Big Boy Brats w/ Spicy Mustard! Samuel Jackson Beer and A Braves Win!
July 30th, 20118:26 pm
I sooo hope Rossy makes them pay for the intentional walk!
Make them pay Rossi.
C’mon Rossy…burn them for this. Just don’t watch it when you hit it out like Melk dud did the other night…
3-2 not in Philly
The longer this goes the more I think Bourn is the target!
Why does Freeman seems to always be running when Uggla’s at the plate? Damn.
Break it wide open Rossy
Come on, Rossy!
July 30th, 20118:27 pm
A ha….more excuses for Nate.
Does every comment by every executive, player or coach have to be laced with some deeper meaning? Maybe it’s actually not a conspiracy, just a fact, phildirt (you like to play with names, right?)
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Braveheart – I’ll trade you the Marlins announcers for Joe & Chip. They black out the Braves feed down here every time they play the Marlins.
ya never know
FF stole 2nd? wow.
thank god…seems as if Ludwick going to clevand too.
Can the Braves trade for 7 more Freddie’s?
I swear people, Freddy Freeman should be pushed as an MVP candidate this season. Not only is doing the job offensively, he has taken his defense and made our infield defense very good. He has made everyone on the infield look better than they are. He has a good shot in his rookie year to get the Glove Glove and the Rookie of the Year, but he should be in the MVP race as well.
July 30th, 20118:28 pm
Drive one, Dave.
Also helps that the owners are willing to spend big money; it’s easy to blame the crowd for the ownership tightening up but it works the other way around too
Braves are not really making a lot of profit and not putting money back in team like marlins. Also phillies payroll and attendance shot up after moving to new park from the old dump.
Wow..that foul ball hit marlins announcer’s ipad and it survived.
Strike 2 was low…dang.
July 30th, 20118:29 pm
well they have us right where they want us now
phillly fans= a group of people not used to baseball success
their team finally has a good team for a couple of years and all of a sudden they are a dynasty LOL
i think most people remember the history of the phillies—-totally empty ballparks before the new stadium and totally awful teams. in fact, the braves have beaten the phillies more than any other team. how soon they forget.
Joe Brave: Looks like Ludwick was too much for the Pirates!
July 30th, 2011
And sometimes a jackass is just a ?
DOB going nuts on Twitter…dude tweets like every 30 seconds. Must have that 4th pot of coffee in him.
July 30th, 20118:30 pm
phil, well the jerkstore just called, and they’re outta you!
I’m still concern that we can’t push a run across with less than 2 outs.
Not having the Braves on TBS has taken a huge hit on the no shows……….
July 30th, 20118:31 pm
Pirates will get Willingham.
Billy the kid
Forget CQ from white Sox..they said No!
Astors wish for Minor plus..don’t believe Wren will pull it off.
Whats left is CoCo, BJ, Willingham..don’t look good…..
now there was a familiar inning
Maybe the Phillies have more fans at their games than Braves fans do because:
 They’re morally and intellectually superior.
The population is more organic (i.e., much smaller percentage of transfers from other places)
There is not as much to do in Philadelphia
Atlantans would rather anticipate upcoming football season than go to a baseball game.
Take your pick. It doesn’t matter what you decide. Don’t share it with the blog.
July 30th, 20118:32 pm
Pretty quiet on the Braves’ front. Come on FW, we know you are working hard. But, if you have to give up Minor to get Bourn, do it!
Span to Nats and Storen gone heck yeah! our beloved Braves can’t touch that kid.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
And sometimes a jackass is just a ?
July 30th, 20118:33 pm
Furcal could be heading to the Cardinals?
Due to MLB’s security policies, it’s the safest place in town…
ALot of words to say u don’t care njbraves
thank you Cleveland for saving us from Ludwick.
Memo to Frank Wretched errr Wren……We Still need Bourn. Don’t get fooled by the hot hitting Gonzalez…
James McDonald, the guy who made the Braves look like a single A offense, currently getting clowned by Phillies.
Hunter Pence: 0-for-3.
Wonder why our infamous insider hasn’t posted an update on Bourn. He was supposed to be a Brave 29 minutes ago. In the spirit of N8…douche.
If no Bourne, BJ UPTON please…..We need a CF and a lead-off hitter not George Constanza
Please give up Minor…i don’t like the guy.
July 30th, 20118:34 pm
Is Hudson on fire tonight or what?
Hudson at 64 pitches.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
