hile Vin Scully is a legend, it seems wierd only hearing him talk. Almost feel sorry for him.

Probably a combination of more populous metro area, greater population density, better public transportation, and more accessible ballpark location. Also helps that the owners are willing to spend big money; it’s easy to blame the crowd for the ownership tightening up but it works the other way around too.

For those that are clamoring for Quintin, I doubt that trade will take place while the White Sox have a legitimate chance for the playoffs. If we don’t get Bourn, we will take sloppy seconds again, just like last year.

Jimenez is currently out in the bullpen and warming up to pitch against the Padres according to Renck (on Twitter), so the deal may not be done yet. He could still pitch for Colorado before a trade is finalized, but teams traditionally won’t risk injury in this situation.

I think the Rockies are selling high on him. He has not been good this year and they clearly don’t want to wait around to see if he will return to form. They got, from what I understand, two big time prospects from the Indians in return. Right now it is low risk, high reward for them. Now if Ubaldo returns to last year’s form, it might be viewed differently

I swear people, Freddy Freeman should be pushed as an MVP candidate this season. Not only is doing the job offensively, he has taken his defense and made our infield defense very good. He has made everyone on the infield look better than they are. He has a good shot in his rookie year to get the Glove Glove and the Rookie of the Year, but he should be in the MVP race as well.

Braves are not really making a lot of profit and not putting money back in team like marlins. Also phillies payroll and attendance shot up after moving to new park from the old dump.

Maybe the Phillies have more fans at their games than Braves fans do because:
[1] They’re morally and intellectually superior.
[2] The population is more organic (i.e., much smaller percentage of transfers from other places)
[3] There is not as much to do in Philadelphia
[4] Atlantans would rather anticipate upcoming football season than go to a baseball game.
