“We look at our team and you get McCann, Chipper, Nate and Moylan back and you feel good about moving forward. Another key element in our decision is Constanza. We really feel this guy can bridge the gap until either Nate or Schafer get back. Plus, we have six ‘untouchables’ and it’s difficult to proceed with negotiations that way. Ubaldo should fetch better prospects than someone like Bourn. He is an ace pitcher. He is under team control with very team friendly terms through 2014.

Serious question: How does Uggla turn on a dime from so cold to so hot? I haven’t heard anything like a secret injury, or an eyeball transplant or new glasses or anything. Not even mechanical adjustments. It just started working for him. I know he’s been working hard all along, and I love him for it, but was there a “something” involved?

Uggla extends hitting streak to 20 games with three-run homer to snap scoreless tie last night, and three at-bats later he extends streak to 21 games with another three-run homer against his old team. Wow. Dude is venting a lot of early season frustration with these swings now.

I agree with the Uggla playing up to his potential is huge. The biggest thing for the Phils is the return to form of Utley. With his injury I really doubted wether we would ever see this Utley again

That was a beauty of a DP!
Went to the Cinderella concert at Wild Bill’s last night. Guitar player came out for the last 3 songs wearing a Jason Heyward T-shirt. The concert was great and that just made it better. What’s even cooler is my husband noticed that it was a Braves shirt and pointed it out to me! May be hope for him yet

If the braves don’t go get bourne they are straight up blanks. His speed at the top of the lineup would give the braves a huge jolt. Don’t be fooled by the last two nights. The marlins are garbage enough though they have played a little better since the manager change.
