Just got home from work and found out that Nate had been DLed because he injured himself throwing the ball. Really? The guy doesn’t throw the ball hard enough to get hurt. He’s like a knuckleball pitcher. How the hell could he get hurt. Then I hear that Contanza has been brought up to play center. It just keeps getting better for this team. I don’t know jack about Contanza, except that he sucked in spring training. Heyward’s first at bat was (drum roll)…a weak grounder to second. here’s a thought for the opposition. Sit your whole team down when Heyward strides to the plate. All you need is a pitcher, catcher, and of course, a second baseman. So help me God, I would go to church every week if Heyward was demoted or traded. Lastly, as much trouble as we had scoring runs against the Bucs, the Phils are blowing them out. I bet they sweep them and we were lucky to split with them, IN OUR PLACE!

I think Pence would be a fine player in Atlanta, Might hit a few less homers, but still good bat you can plug somewhere in the heart of the order. If we get him will be overpaying for sure…. Alot of us will be upset with his production still even if he put up a 300. avg and 20 homers for 2 more seasons.

Oh I agree with that VAB, I just think he is getting a little bit more hype than needed. The Astros really are asking a lot for him. Our GM just needs to figure out if what we give up for him will be worth it. Honestly, even though I think he may be getting too much hype I’d probably pull the trigger and offer Minor and some others and put Kawakami in there as a side.

As long as the Phillies have to overpay for Pence, I’m fine with it.
This is back2back years, though, that former Phillie Ed Wade has sent over a key piece to Philly in the middle of a play-off race.
Too bad that Wren’s boy, Dayton Moore doesn’t have someone like that to hand over to the Braves.
Quentin sounds likely; while Upton seems more like the type of guy the Braves usually get. Upton seems like a better off-season deal, while Quentin could probably be expected to make a bigger impact immediately.

Regardless of what any Braves player will say on camera, it has to be a deflating feeling when you see the team you’re trying to chase improve like this. Especially a guy that your team wanted.
I hope Wren gets a big bat, an everyday player. I just feel a Ludwick/Willingham coming here.
